Tarlone is a Sand Drake standing at 8 feet tall and 13 feet long. He hosts crocodilian scales along his back and tapering onto his tail, which has several thin and long spikes that host a paralytic poison. His scales are sand-colored with five black stripes - one running from his nose to his tail along his spine, two from his nose to tail that cover his eyes, and two from chin to tail, coloring his lower lips black.

He hosts a frill, often hidden tight around his neck. When flared, the frill is oily black and iridescent. His head has three horns, one above each eye and one between the two, middle horn is longer than all three. Face appears like that of a crocodile but with visible lips, though some teeth poke through. Four teeth sit at the back of his jaws, longer than the rest; two upper teeth and two lower teeth. These teeth are given a neurotoxic venom from four separate venom glands. This venom attacks the cardiovascular system - one tooth is moderate effect while two or more is considered lethal.

Tail barbs are long and often are flat against his tail for minimum drag when burrowing. Makes a rattling noise when splayed out. Paralytic poison causes paralysis within a few hours, but is not lethal.

Has a black cloth cape that drapes over one foreleg and most of his midsection.
