Stand Up on The Prow // Axe Throwing - SirDio - 12-28-2020

The seasoned wolf looked across the shore, where several logs of varying sizes were sat up, red X's painted on them. He still refused to cut his fur, so it had become dense with sweat that soaked from the skin up. But he didn't move sluggishly or complain. It just felt like his fur was soaked in the ocean, and he was fine with that. Anyway, Sköll had his Axe with the blade head buried in the sands. Making sure no one was within range for him to execute them via guillotine, he readied himself.

He took the handle into his jaws and pulled the axe out of the sands. It's white wood shined brightly, the axe head given an ethereal glow in the sunlight. Position taken among the sands, a small group of onlookers some feet behind him. He angled his head to one side, eyes gleaming at the spectators. Then, with violent force, he flung the axe toward the smallest log, which was also the furthest away from him. The majesty of the axe spun with power before digging itself into the log, a hefty THUNK coming from it.

The wolf laughed with a ground-shattering boom, moving to yank his axe out of the fallen log. "anyone else want to try out their axe-throwing skills, or would you all rather watch me?"

SOOTHSAYER ❝ ROAN ❞ THE TYPHOON
Sköll. Roan hadn't been around for the other's joining, but he had still known of the wolf's presence within the group. It would've been pretty hard for him not to know that someone had joined, considering he tried to keep an eye on most things. He wouldn't be a very effective healer if he didn't know anyone who could potentially need healing – although he tried to keep his distance, as had become the norm for him. He didn't enjoy becoming close to most people these days. It only opened up opportunities for him to lose them, even when he was trying his damnedest to make sure that they stayed alive. Just thinking about past circumstances made his chest ache, and the siamese shook his head from side to side, refusing to dwell on it. Instead, he decided he would live in the moment... a rather idiotic moment, at least in his opinion. As he made his way over, the draconic feline hissed in the direction of those who were simply standing and gawking, "Knock it off, idiotas. Don't you all have anything better to do than to just sit around watching him? Just wait until an axe goes flying right into your heads." The grumpy soothsayer shook his head from side to side, a rough and aggravated sigh leaving him.

Roan then turned back to Sköll, sitting down and wrapping his dark tail around his paws. As his blue gaze moved from the canine over to the axe that was currently embedded in one of the nearby logs, the young male found himself muttering, "What even is the point of axe throwing? It doesn't seem like a particularly useful skill. No enemy is just going to stand around in a battle, waiting for you to chuck an axe at them." He could understand skills like archery, since they were easier to adjust for a moving target. But axe throwing required so much strength, and so much effort in order to hit your target. It seemed nearly impossible to use such brute strength practically in an actual battle. If one had an axe, why not just use it up close?
