With the Hunt beginning he wanted to prep himself, train a little bit as it were and what was the best place but the Thorn Jungle. It was danger incarnate save for where the Obelisk laid. Dragons were prominent here and they often had to sleuth around them or become the next meals. So he had come here to at least perhaps find a meal and something that was challenging among the giant thorns. He wasn't sure of what he would find but he was optimistic all the same As he left the lava floe he could feel the change of temperature, the way the thick trees of oaks and such seemed to cool and be able to give life here. The earth spoke to him and he closed his eyes for a moment to listen, his body stilling for just a moment. The earth here worked hard to give nutrients to the trees and he tilted his head up as leaves and vines slowly stretched towards him. Hmm, he had not used his powers in what felt like ages, his connection to them cut off by his volatile emotions when his father had died. But now he was almost at peace, almost. Opening his gaze he let out a deep breath and focused his attention on the task at hand.
At least he would have focused on his task at hand if he didn't suddenly catch moving within the thick foliage. ''Shit...'' He pointed tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth as he spoke the curse before he turned his head to the side, seeing something else moving along his other side. How could he have been caught so unawares and he blamed himself given the fact that he had been listening to the earth and forgetting about much of his surroundings currently. Slowly the Dragon King stepped back, twisting his form to try and get a good look at what was surrounding him and luckily for him he was close to a tree which he continued to move closer to. He could hear the foliage shifting and moving but then it became eerily quiet. Too quiet. It was that moment when he realized that he was being hunted and he clenched his bone like jaws harder together. ''Whatever you are, I can assure you that I'm not easy prey. I wouldn't suggest trying it.'' He called to them as he knew there were two. He could smell them and their scents were rather close together. The question was could they be reasoned with? Feral or did they have the thought processes like they did? He had gotten into scuffles with dragons before and had to flee as quickly as possible given how the beasts were but they didn't seem like dragons. They seemed faster, sharper...smarter.
