What comes from the sea - birthday - will return - Seakit Roux. - 11-21-2020

IF MY LIFE IS GOING
TO MEAN ANYTHING,
I HAVE TO LIVE IT
MYSELF.
tiguar . young . he/him
demigod of the deep
Birthday. A bittersweet day for the beta, which he would not be for longer, as he pondered over his missing siblings. He couldn't help the pang in his heart at the idea of his birthday. There were others that he should be celebrating with. Siblings that shared the date but were on far distant shores. Eludin, who he hadn't seen in many moons. He wondered if his brother was doing okay if he had truly gone to explore and adventure like the rumors said. Bonita, who he'd watched set sail and not return. He wondered if she was celebrating wherever the waves took her.

A sigh left the tiguar as he rose from his bed, glancing around the treehouse he shared. He wondered briefly about his roommate, before deciding she would show up if she wanted to. Deciding he might as well start the day, he ducked out of the treehouse, leaping down onto the fallen leaves.

His mind wandered as he walked, pondering over if anyone actually remembered today was his birthday. His mother, probably, maybe his younger siblings. Outside of that, he was unsure. Would his mother deem him an adult? Perhaps he wouldn't be a beta anymore, would she make him a proper crewmate? He knew that there was some tradition in his naming, would that mean he would get a new soon? He'd gone from 'kit to 'paw, would his mother come up with something for him?

These were the thoughts going through his mind as he flopped onto the sandy beach, laying on his back with his paws up in the air. He hadn't talked to his mom about a party or anything, so he simply assumed there wouldn't be one. SO, he would lounge on the beach, quietly humming happy birthday to himself.

SOOTHSAYER ❝ ROAN ❞ THE TYPHOON
As it turned out, there was at least one pair that had remember Seapaw's birthday, and that was both Roan and Michael. Roan had kept an eye on the upcoming date for a while, struggling to think of something that he could give to his cousin. He wasn't exactly the best gift giver, considering the fact that he didn't enjoy gifts all that much himself. So, he had decided to go off and find Michael, knowing that the bobcat was fairly proficient and receiving and giving gifts – or just stealing them. At first, the other had been surprised by the request, but it wasn't long before he and Roan figured things out, with the both of them feeling fairly confident in the gifts that they had decided on. Michael seemed almost sheepish as he carried his gift along, following after Roan as the medic strolled across the beach and towards Seapaw's laying form. Roan found a bit of a smirk coming to his face when he noticed Seapaw's lazy stretched out position, and he dropped a small gift wrapped package on the other's chest, saying softly, "Happy birthday, Seapaw. I got Michael to help me out with a gift for you, so if you hate it, blame him." The zombified feline then stepped back, sitting down in the sand and wrapping his tail around his paws. Within the box was a rather thick book, with safety guidelines for deep sea diving, and where to find the best hidden treasures beneath the waves.

Michael, meanwhile, snorted at Roan's rather blunt approach, making his way over with his gift clenched in his jaws. The dealer looked down for a moment before placing his gift on top of Roan's, muttering casually, "Uh... I made this for you, for your birthday. With a bit of help, obviously. I wasn't about to spend ages searching for a bunch of intact sand dollars..." The gift that Michael had come up with was a sturdy wire necklace, with a string of sand dollars on it. In the middle of the sand dollars was a dried starfish, hanging down from one of its legs. The starfish had already been dried when Michael had gotten it, thankfully. Still feeling a little ridiculous about the relatively simple gift, the bobcat stepped back a little, saying with an awkward chuckle, "It's alright if you don't like it. Like Roan said, you can blame me for the both of them." He then just smiled at the other, a hidden grateful look in his eyes. After all, Seapaw was part of the reason why Michael was still within the Typhoon. If he and Roxie hadn't dragged him back...

Re: What comes from the sea - birthday - will return - ROXANNE R. - 11-22-2020

Roxanne was normally preoccupied with her duties but even though that stood in the way often, she kept eyes on her family's birthdays and did her best to prepare for them. Her own children had grown so big and well, she knew that Goldie's kids had only been born a few days later so it wasn't hard to remember. Even so, she had managed to make something for her apprentice, Seapaw, and she was rather happy with it. She had made a little ocean themed cake for her great nephew only to load it carefully onto that red little wagon that she owned and normally used to pull around the cake seeing as she was rather tiny. The cake had blue frosting with several other shades of it and some greens, there was little fondant fish and seaweed, and happy birthday on the top of the cake with a few fondant starfish and a sand dollar to top it off. "This looks birthday worthy," She muttered to herself as she gripped down on the handle pulling over to the beach where Seapaw lay, a smile on her maw as her tegu, Lorelei, followed along with a box tied to her back. A gift for Seapaw.

When Seapaw would open the gift, he would find a small dolphin compass with his initials carved into the gold behind the compass itself. It wasn't a grand and spectacular gift but honestly, Roxanne hoped that her great nephew would enjoy her gift nonetheless. She approached the trio only to purr with a toothy grin "Happy birthday, Sea!"

DEAR FRIEND as you know,  your flowers are withering
your mother's gone insane, your leaves have drifted away.
but the clouds are clearing up
and i've come reveling, burning incandescently,
like a bastard on the burning sea.

YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER,
BURIED DEEP UNDER THE WATER.
While the captain had never gotten to celebrate many birthdays - her own ones had been missed, both times, due to her own duties, she certainly wasn't about to miss her childrens' first birthday. She wasn't certain over what sort of celebration he was looking for, if any at all, but she still at the very least planned to make a little party. She was the former dealer, it was too much in her nature to throw a party wherever she could, and Seapaw deserved the attention, whether he really was seeking it or not. She knew he'd at the very least enjoy all the presents, food, and compliments. And so, she prepares a basket, several items planted inside for her plans. She'd made his present ahead of time, putting lots of thought and care into it. And she'd set out that morning with the goal in mind to find her son. Her first thought is to visit his home, but she walks along the beaches, just in case he'd decided to go out.

Once the very boy she was looking for was spotted lounging in the distance, the female would make her move. She shifts to the side, making sure no one around Seapaw, or he himself, saw her as she takes flight with her basket of goodies. She flies just above them, taking out several party hats she'd prepped and letting them gently drop to the ground along with party horns. Once satisfied with the number of hats and horns, she slowly glides down, landing behind her son, wearing her own party hat. She attempts to gently and playfully hit his back before moving around next to him. "Happy birthday t' you, happy birthday t' you, you look like a monkey, and you smell like one, too!" she sings in an enthusiastic voice, shaking her own body. The captain now pushes the basket in front of her son, a carefully wrapped, small gift inside, along with a particularly nice smelling burrito, wrapped in all the goodies - cheese, eggs, pineapple, ham.

If he was to open up the present, he'd see a golden box, and inside of that he'd find a multicolored, but mostly red, feather earring made of various macaw feathers. It seemed like the right time to give him such an item. A symbol of the Roux family, and more importantly, the heir to the next head of the next generation. It was no secret how much she'd cherished her own earring given by her papa, and she thought it only appropriate she'd share such a sentiment with her son.
