NOTHING BESIDE REMAINS — ( retro to takeover ) Recently, Aurum had been thinking a great deal about his profound appreciation for books, and the stories that they held. It wasn't difficult to get the angel to think about this, but it had been coming up surprisingly often as of late. When he wasn't sleeping, eating, or making his occasional visit out into the outside world, he was reading. It was a relaxing enough activity that didn't involve him straining himself, but also allowed him to think creatively, and have a good time, even while essentially on his own form of house arrest. Unfortunately, his own personal library of books could only go so far in keeping him entertained. Eventually, the various books he had collected over the years were read, reread, and then reread once more, and he found himself beginning to grow bored. That meant that, despite his best efforts, it was time to head out into the open air, and make his way over to the library. After all, it was the easiest way for him to get new books to read. At least, the easiest way without bothering a prodding at his neighbors until they gave him whatever they had – which usually wasn't very exciting, and consisted of cookbooks, or manuals. This time, however, Aurum didn't have his usual quick visit ducking in and out of the library with ease. Instead, he stepped foot inside of the library, and then immediately recoiled at the state that the place was in. The library had never been perfect, especially since they didn't really have a dedicated librarian, but this had taken it to a whole new level. The corners and walls were dusty and dirty, and most of the aisles seem unorganized and slapped together, a fact which caused him to scowl. A large part of the angel knew that trying to clean things up was a bad idea, especially since he was still cleaning, but he also found that he didn't really care about that part. The library meant a lot to him and several others, which meant that it was time for some cleaning, as well as some organizing. So, even as his muscles were aching and his mind was lightly scolding him, the former proxy got to work, heading off towards the back corner to pull out a broom and a trash bucket, which he knew would come in handy. He then started with the dust and dirt first, beginning to clean the entire building from back to front while stacking up books along the way. By the time he was done with the cleaning aspect of things, Aurum could already feel an unpleasant and exhausted feeling clinging to his fur. He had always been stubborn, however, so he just shook it off, muttering to himself, "You'll just be up all night if you don't get this done..." And that really was the truth, in a way. He'd be left feeling frustrated and anxious over it, unable to stop thinking about the mess that was still left behind. So, instead of heading home then, he continued his little crusade, looking over the various towering piles of books and trying to organize them into sections based on alphabetical order. Of course, if he tried to organize them all on his own, then he would probably end up being there all night, if not all week. — OF THE MAN WHO WAS BORN AND DIED A KING. Sophiea Pendragon was no night owl, far from it, though there was moments where she stayed up and those were rare moments seeing as Archimedes usually left her alone to sleep while he would hunt mice within Tanglewood's vast forest. The feline had been reading through some of her books seeing as she began to get curious about electronics or machines, it had prodded at her for a while and she figured that she might as well learn until something came up that would prevent her from her studying session. In that moment, she realized a large figure passing below her window and heading towards the library, Sophiea's ears perking forward as she realized that it was Aurum. It made her wonder what he was doing at the library around this time as she opened the window of her room and slid onto the roof with Archimedes following her letting out a soft shriek.
They both glide down from the roof of her house but Archimedes flies in the direction of Aurum only to stretch out his claws a bit to tug at the lion's mane in an effort to get his attention, if he succeeded with that, the predatory avian perched himself onto a bookshelf. Sophiea stepped through the door with a brief expression of awe before it turned into a subtle scowl "Why in the bloody hell are you awake during these hours?" There was a pause as she ran a paw across one of the surfaces to realize that it wasn't covered in dust anymore, Soph raised one of her nonexistent eyebrows up at the sight feeling rather pleased by this. "I see," She turned her gaze away from Aurum noticing the piles of books only to bite down on her tongue only to part her jaws once more to utter a few words "Hell, you won't ever finish by yourself... You arrogant muppet." With that, Sophiea would move over to a pile of books only to use her telekinesis to lift several as she went through each title only to fit them into some shelves "I'm sure whoever walks in on us will assume that we're the new bloody librarians." She joked with a shake of her head. THINGS I ALMOST REMEMBER AND A SONG SOMEONE SINGS, ONCE UPON A DECEMBER — Reggan

NOTHING BESIDE REMAINS — It was of little surprise to Aurum that one of the first to approach him was Sophiea. Not only because of her general presence around the group, but also because she seemed like the type to appreciate a good story as well. Despite this, the lion hadn't been expecting his attention to be snatched by Archimedes. A soft and startled snort left him as he felt the avian's claws tugging lightly at his mane. The former proxy had to actively resist swatting the bird from the sky, purely on instinct. Thankfully, he managed to keep his paws down on the ground, rumbling softly to the bird, "Ah... hello, Archimedes." He knew the bird's name only because of his various brief interactions with Sophiea, but he didn't mind his presence. After all, Archimedes seemed obedient and helpful enough. Looking over at Sophiea once she stepped inside, Aurum cracked a crooked smile, growing used to her rather abrasive manner. With a flick of his tuft of a tail, the lion spoke calmly back to her, "I didn't figure I'd get it all done by myself... I suppose I'm lucky you came along, especially since you have something that I don't – telekinesis." As he spoke, he lifted a few of the books in his jaws, taking special care not to rip them as he nosed them up onto a nearby shelf. As he continued his slow work of putting the books up on the shelves, he gave a short shake of his head, "I honestly wouldn't mind being thought of as the librarian. I love coming to this place, after all." He paused thoughtfully, as if he was going to say something more, before the sound of extra footsteps caused him to turn. He blinked upon seeing Elsweyr, giving the still somewhat foreign cheetah a smile before he muttered, "Ah, hello. I hope the noise didn't disturb you..." His gaze then followed hers, seeing how she seemed to be inspecting the entirety of what the library had to offer. Her next question was expected, then, considering the lack of understanding in her gaze. He answered enthusiastically, pausing in his sorting to explain, "Oh, they're not rocks. They're books. They've got pages of things to read. Generally they're full of information, so they can have things like stories, or recipes, or information about history... there's a wide variety of different subjects books can cover. This place is the library... it's where Tanglers can come and borrow books to read for themselves." He seemed to smile blissfully as he glanced around once again, evidently feeling very within his own environment. — OF THE MAN WHO WAS BORN AND DIED A KING. Re: ALL WILL BE, REMEDIED ☆ library organization - Grimm - 11-06-2020 While numerous aspects had passed from father to son, rather tedious the sparse arguments grown few and far between as both bore a rather notable stubborn streak, the affection for the written word Aurum expressed was not something mimicked in Salvia. Rather, it seemed the contrary. Lessons had been conducted, a method to keep the cub from trouble for his easy going mannerisms waned in times of boredom, quickly noted his issues, about the letters shifting and, though it seemed only particular letters, they became a hue other than black. Distracting either upon their own, amplified the struggles of picking up a new skill, together it had grown a near impossibility to read anything beyond a few short lines.

Alone he tread familiar paths worn by countless passages, history written against dull cobble, from home turned on simple basis — he was incapable of sleep. Further prolonged his walk when return had yielded only an empty room, the once heaviness of exhaustion gone as curiosity settled. Possibly one of the best places to look the library, imposing structure within held fervent life, unimpeded the growth of tree by such trivial things as walls or flooring, yet ignored it. Distaste had grown within him, shunned the book laden walls for other places that may offer entertainment without the headache. About did rounded ears swivel, decision made as momentum briefly slowed. "Of course." Low mumble spoken beneath his breath, trajectory shifting as the soft words of muffled conversation reached Salvia and drew him closer. Familiar all faces within, one more so than the others though expected such, warmth seeping through a grin that showed off crooked fangs. In poor taste may have been his joy over the fact Elsweyr seemed incapable of parsing books, a concept as a whole he did not care for, but could not help in such. Alienated felt the cub on the basis of his incapability where it came to reading utilised in daily life to a degree he felt pressured to learn, if only for his own sake, this small connection soothing his nerves. From a pile Salvia took a book down, careful for he bore no wish to ruin it within any capacity, flicking through the pages before a particular one was found. Before the cheetah did he slide the open book, gently tapping at the page. "I like the pictures most of all." Across a full page a scene of a forest was printed, rabbits clear within the foreground, a peaceful scene without context.
