Empire of Sound || Development and Encounter pt 1 - Alithís Evgenis - 09-18-2020

Alithís Evgenis
[i]dum spiro spero-- while I breathe, i hope

The wind howled with a ferocity unparalleled. The sky had tinted a foreboding yellow the hour prior as the only warning of the oncoming storm. Those who decided to stay inside had made a wise choice.

Now the usual blue hue and previous yellow tint was replaced by an awful grey as clouds roiled overhead. It would be a fast storm but a dangerous one. Some of the less structurally sound buildings were torn asunder under the fierce elements that the storm had brought with it. Even stone was no match as loose rock tumbled away from the cliff.

Those brave enough to test the outside after the clouds had passed would be the first to see the damage. Some of the pathways had been severely damaged and the many houses of the territory had essentially become unfit to stay in. The roofs were bound to cave in if they hadn't already and much of the windows had been shattered by fallen trees, branches, or even high speed rocks.

Even the Kingpin’s own tree was not spared of the damage. Scuffed up by rocks and quite a few branches scattered about the base meant the dragon inhabitant had gotten fairly lucky that it wasn't worse.

All in all, the territory of Alithis Evgenis looked like a mess.

However it was nothing they couldn't fix. It was work but Alithians were strong workers and the storm that had raged into their lands would not change that fact.

Besides, it seemed that it had led to something new! Along the cliff face was a slightly obscured cave mouth. Occasionally stones and pebbles still tumbled from the entrance after having been exposed by the harsh winds but the cave seemed fairly deep from a glance and a good shelter for those that don't have one anymore due to the storm and perhaps it was luck for the since the storm didn't seem quite finished yet...

The noise of the collapse scared Sam a lot and ran about to see what happened. Seeing the damage was a great mess and she hoped no one was under neith it all. The chance of them surviving was very low but she shouted just in case. "HELLOOOO is everyone okay." She has seen all sorts of tragedies around her the worst are the ones she has a connection with and that grew her anxiety with the few people that live in the village she has gotten well some. She wished there was no death counts left dragging behind her this time.

Unluckily for Sam and the members of the bandits out lounging as the storm slid into harbor, they were in plain view of the wolf as she came down the stairs to the wooden pathway. As soon as the bandits heard the rocks beginning to slide and the storm truely slamming into the coast, they scrambled for protection like any sane being. Unknowing to them that what they considered safe would soon be their own demise, bandits sprinted into the cliffside houses,  a formidable number slipping into shadows. As rain and wind clawed the cliffside, old structures and mud gave away, revealing gaping maws of dark and deep holes within the cliffside, where once mostly whole houses rested were now torn wounds in the cliffside. As the storm raged, a maned wolf would emerge from the closest house, a boulder fallen against its door. She was the Queen of the bandits, the one woman mentioned at the August meeting, Avanti. She had looked after the Kingpin's own son, not knowing him to be theirs and not a lost child. Barking out orders, the maned wolf bristled and howled a command, "BANDITS! ESCAPE UP THE CLIFF AND WATCH YOUR FOOTING - THE CLIFF IS FALLING APART!" before she leapt to help her group mates, the woman dragging those falling behind after her, not seeing Sam as she urged her members towards her, not knowing her own folly, the rain draining the scent of the femme before it could reach her sharp nose. Her only concern was rescuing her trapped bandits and getting them to safety, as wholly as she could, only praying that the group hadn't come out to investigate.

As Sam rushed towards the rubble she noticed movement scrambling among the rocks and started to fully sprint towards the people. When she gotten close enough to see who it was complete dread washed over her and she rolled into a Bush. She dosent recognize these people they are long and lanky and some even had strange gear she has never seen in the village but similar to large groups where all the equipment is random like fellow sellswords. Braving a peak to have another confirming look they are indeed not recognizable. She could only hope they did not notice her and the storm covered up her noise. Seeing they have their own problem escaping the damage of the storm she turned around planing to sneak then run back to Bai about the danger close to come.

Passing by her without any knowledge of Sam's presence nor hiding spot, Avanti led her bandits up and over the top of the ridge, tongue hanging from her jaws, panting as her armor hit against her legs and sides, strapped down. "shit shit shit shit", was all that she could say and think, racing and grabbing those who she could, the storm a vicious torrent overhead. Sam was free to go, she had no time to worry about a spy or anyone seeing them, the rain was driving and stinging even through the armor she wore.
