BABBYBTB ANS MAMAMI / roan - ROXANNE R. - 08-17-2020 [glow=white,1,400]I LOVE YOU, CANNIBAL QUEEN ! — 。+゚.[/glow]
It had been a while since she had talked to Roan by himself and well, she figured that it would be best to do so since he wasn't busy at the time or that's what Roxanne believed. She decided to bake a bit to relax and to make something for Roan, a congratulations to his promotion to Soothsayer despite how stressful that may become for her son... She believed in him, she knew that he would do well in the position. She was proud of him, always would be. A cake was what she made though it was not big but big enough for the both of them to share with one another... Like old times when the two of them would celebrate his birthday within the hut, when it had just been the two of them. A tired smile forming on her maw as she packaged it within a small box only to write congrats on it, eventually placing it carefully within a basket did the draconic femme start to make her way in the direction of her son's treehouse. The Officer felt heavy in a sense, she was exhausted whether it be emotionally or physically, Roxanne was exhausted... She wanted to spend time with both Goldie and Roan, she had the time now though she was uncertain if it was the same for them. Admittedly, it was hard raising kids by herself but she had managed to complete such a feat with help from family. She wished that she was able to fill both the roles of a parent for her children yet she hadn't been able to. She would never be the father that left her children and her alone, Roxanne was relieved for that much now. Greed was gone and she was over it. Séamus was around but he played the part of a shadow not necessarily putting himself in the shoes of a father, which she was fine with. She wouldn't force him into the picture if he didn't feel comfortable, a soft sigh brushing pass her lips as the sight of the treehouse came into view. Her paws shuffling a bit in the sand briefly sinking as she hesitated for a moment before spreading her wings and flying up to the entrance of his home. Her paws felt heavy, everything felt heavy around this time but she would make time. She'd make it work. He was still small in her eyes, he'd always be small but he took a large part of her heart. She still saw the small boy she raised within that hut. She flinched the moment he turned around to face her. Her jaws parted to speak having already set the basket down in front of her paws "Hola mijito," Roxanne would hastily tuck her wings to her sides unsure what to say for a moment only to continue motioning to the basket with a wing "I thought it would be nice if we celebrated your promotion to Soothsayer," Her nose being tickled slightly by the cobwebs on her muzzle though she did her best to ignore them, she wouldn't have them if she hadn't fought with Aphra. The heaviness returned. Shame. She was ashamed of herself. [glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: BABBYBTB ANS MAMAMI / roan - roan ; - 08-17-2020 Truthfully, the promotion to Soothsayer had hardly been a surprise for the young Roux, even if he had still found himself caught off guard by it. He had been doing a massive amount of medical work as of late, and as far as he knew, he hadn't missed any major occurrences. It only made sense that his hard work had paid off, although he wasn't quite sure whether or not he was glad about it. It definitely meant a lot more stress, being the head of an entire division. Still, his mother did the same thing... not that he thought he was on even ground with his mama, really. She was much stronger than him, and had much more knowledge of the world than he did, which naturally meant she would be better at leading an entire division. Part of him wanted to turn to his mama for advice on what he should do in order to be an effective leader, but another part of him was too afraid to do so. Afraid, and embarrassed. He didn't want it to look like he didn't know what he was doing, after being entrusted with such an important job. He didn't want to disappoint Goldie, especially when she already had so much pressure on her as the captain, and the pain from the recent loss of Sam. The draconic feline had been in the process of packing things up when Roxie approached his home, getting ready to move from his tree house to the temple. It wouldn't be too much of an adjustment, considering he had practically been living within the structure while Ament was injured. He had spent most nights curled up in a makeshift bed, waiting just in case the raptor's infection had gotten worse, or in order to defend himself from any oncoming attacks. At this point, he didn't genuinely think the other would attack him, but those first few days had been touch and go. The thought made Roan chuckle slightly, glad that Ament had healed alright – even if he chose to express his appreciation with some pretty odd gifts. It was better to think about how he had treated the raptor, rather than focusing on his most recent patient. Just the thought of Aphra's behavior made him pause, jaw clenching and claws curling slightly against one of the little dolls he had kept with him since he had initially moved out. Taking a deep breath, the new soothsayer forced himself to relax, large ears picking up the sound of flapping wings, and felt the gentle thud of someone landing outside of his hut. Tail flicking back and forth behind him, Roan turned to face the newcomer to his home, his blue eyes temporarily widening when he saw it was his mother. He smiled tiredly right back at her, a soft laugh leaving him before he spoke, "Hola, mamá. It's good to see you..." It had been far too long since the medic had properly talked with his mother, and he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. It was a good tightness... maybe. He honestly wasn't sure. Quickly, he focused his gaze down at the basket Roxanne had brought, taking in what she had said. Smiling, the young soothsayer moved forward, nuzzling his cheek gently against Roxie's before he spoke, "Eso me suena muy bien, mamá. We never celebrated when you got promoted to officer, either. We can make it a double thing. Lemme just... move some stuff around." He turned to head back into his house, shoving aside several of the items he had been packing in order to make space for both he and his mother. Much like Roan, there was a tightness within her own chest. She was uncertain of what it was but decided to ignore it for the time being not wanting it to get between herself and her son. Her exhausted gaze would soften the moment that he approached and nuzzled her cheek with his own, the tigress taking the moment to press her nose against his forehead like she always had done. Pequeño, was her only thought before moving her nose away from his forehead taking in what he said only to find herself rumbling a bit in amusement "It's been quite a while since my promotion to officer," Though she wouldn't deny her son the chance of a double celebration, she knew that he would be moving to the temple soon enough and well, Roxanne had already found herself a working compartment so she could have an easier time of leading her own division. At first, the Officer believed that it would be quite the task for herself seeing as she had never reached a position of power before when Goldie had been around Roan's age. Knowing that she had gotten this far within the ranks, Roxie couldn't help but feel some sort of pride for herself.
Now, her and Roan had the same type of position though both of them were over their own divisions. Roxanne was in charge of the Grim Rays and Roan being the Soothsayer was over the Necro Mambas, the officer didn't doubt for a moment that her son would falter or stumble within his new rank. She began to open the box that had made sure the cake hadn't lost any of its frosting, the draconic femme would briefly scratch at her chin with a single claw deciding that she might as well ask how Roan felt about his new position "Soothsayer, ey? Not for one moment... Did I ever doubt, you'd make me even more proud of you than I already have been." Her striped tail lashing to the sides as she picked up the two plates that she had brought along with forks and a knife to cut the cake "Jus' don't overwork yourself, you hear? It's bad enough me and Goldie overwork ourselves, a young boy like you needs his beauty sleep." The last part being more playful if anything, Roxanne had plenty of time to catch some shut eye though it was hard when her own niece had lost her wife. Her chest ached momentarily only to nudge a slice of cake in Roan's direction, she would tilt her head "And if you ever need help... I'm always here for you, bebé. Never forget that," It often felt like her children tried hiding their problems instead of going to her about them, she was their mother though she wouldn't ever force them to tell her if they didn't feel comfortable about sharing. Maybe things would've been easier if they had been a complete family... With a father and mother. Once more, Roxanne tried not thinking of what would've happened if things had been different and returned to reality having sliced herself a bit of cake. Still, it hadn't made up for the gaps within her children's lives... Was she even doing a good job at parenting? It seemed like Roan always ended up mending her wounds instead of her doing the opposite, she grit her teeth having looked away. Her expression simply exhausted and blank as she was swept away by her own thoughts. It took her a moment to snap out of her daze and remember where she was turning to Roan only to mumble out with a faint smile "Like old times... We'd always celebrate your birthday... You and me... Inside that little hut," A soft sigh leaving her slightly parted jaws as she poked at her cake with a fork. She felt as if she had failed as a parent but she'd never voice these thoughts of hers.
