It was a bit difficult getting used to his newer surroundings, the snow was familiar and comforting in a way but all the strange faces caused the fur on his body to rise up with his muscles bunching up which frankly didn't help with his recovery. Sure, his wounds had been treated by Rin to make sure he didn't get an infection and he should've been grateful for that... He was though his trust didn't come easily, he was still tense around Aurum and his small boy. The hybrid rose to his paws deciding that he didn't wish to stay any longer within the safety of the cabin, his whiskers twitching briefly. The bandages wrapped around his eye made him feel odd and just in general being away from the place he once resided was strange, everything was foreign to him. No one had livestock here and there was definitely a lot of new faces he did not recognize, he growled whenever anyone walked past his blind side.

His single eye catching the sight of prey, of course, most of it was smaller animals and it made the large hybrid snort. "Тощий." Siborno would say in a rough voice not caring that him suddenly speaking had startled one of the NPCs, the Russian would draw close to the pile trying to figure out what to possibly pick and settled for a rabbit. He moved close to the cabin sitting outside of it, he would lay there wincing slightly from his aching bones and he wished he hadn't been attacked by those damn wolves. Regardless, he was safe and he supposed that he'd be grateful for that much. A low huff escaped his mouth as he stared off into the distance with a lost expression on his face. A frown tugging at his lips. This was not home. [glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Aurum knew how disorienting it could feel, being in an entirely new place. He also knew how frustrating it could be, since you often ended up just yearning for the old familiarity that you had found comforting. Even now, almost a year later, the angel could remember how ruffled his feathers had been when he first joined Tanglewood. It had been a difficult adjustment process, and he had often found himself wishing he was back with the pride, even with the pain he had suffered there. However, nowadays he was extremely glad that he had stuck it out, and it wasn't hard to see why. After all, once he had coped with the new surroundings and made friends with those unfamiliar to him, he had felt a true sense of family. An even better sense of family then when he had been within the pride, since his Tanglewood family had actually cared. However, he could definitely understand Siborno's pain, and was feeling a bit of it himself. After all, despite knowing more about Elysium than Sib, the mountain dwelling group was still mostly an enigma, at least for now.

The lion had already been outside when Siborno finally decided to emerge, his attention being grabbed by a nearby NPC squeaking in fear when Sib spoke. Looking up, Aurum found himself simply snorting at his new clanmate's fear. He knew the large hybrid could seem intimidating and scary at first, but it wasn't as if he had been threatening the poor guy — he just wanted some food. With this in mind, the angel waited until Sib had settled again to rise to his paws, making his way over to where the injured male was laying. He stopped briefly to grab his own piece of prey, figuring that maybe they could talk over a meal. Or rather, he could talk, and Sib could listen, considering the larger male never seemed big on speaking. Settling down nearby, Aurum took a large bite out of the somewhat plump squirrel he had grabbed, before he looked to Sib, rumbling softly, "Hey, Siborno. Are you doing alright? You look like you're just about a million miles away." He couldn't really blame Sib if he wasn't in the mood to talk, but that didn't mean he would be able to understand very well. Aurum had always been the type to keep the conversation going and be overwhelmingly talkative, so a silent companion like Siborno was slightly new to him. Only slightly, considering he did have some previous experience with Draekon.

The sound of pawprints made his ears begin to twitch lightly, his gaze turning in the direction of where the lion was coming from. His whiskers twitched for a moment watching as the lion would settle down taking a bite from their squirrel, Siborno being pulled from his current thoughts at the time and would let a soft breath leave his lips. His ears perking forward at the sound of Aurum's voice and it made the hybrid realize that the voice itself made him react in an odd way not expressing it for him to see but an inward reaction. It was an odd feeling but Siborno chose to believe that it was gratitude though he'd close his single eye and try to think of how to answer. His eye would reopen taking in the appearance of the lion that sat nearby, he took a bite from his plump rabbit as both of his ears rest flat upon his cranium. A million miles away? Siborno felt like that was the case, a frown tugging at his lips though he'd swallow the bit of rabbit that he had been chewing on for the time being. He would open his jaws slowly as if to say something before pausing and closing his mouth once more, his snout wrinkling slightly. He had to remember that Aurum didn't speak his tongue, what was native to him, so he had to speak to the lion in the language they spoke even if he did dread how he often sounded like some primitive creature "A-am... Good."

Dreadful, he thought wincing at his horrible English that was weighed down by his heavy Russian accent that plagued him whenever he spoke in any other dialect. They'd snort at the next bit trying to figure out what else to say only to open his jaws after a moment of hesitation "Feels... Like..." He would say with a light shake of his head continuing in a more quiet yet rough voice "Out... Of place," Was what he decided to finally settle with before turning his careful yet cautious gaze to Aurum once more, he wasn't the best at conversation's seeing as he had been alone for years and here he was trying to make some type of effort. He figured it would be rude not to answer to the man that had taken him in when the other male could've left him for dead. "What... Of you?" That didn't sound right but instead of correcting himself, the smilodon hybrid would nudge the rabbit away from himself finding that he wasn't as hungry as he believed himself to be. Or perhaps, it was the embarrassment he felt for speaking so incorrectly. Siborno bit the inside of his right cheek only to open his maw with a small shake of his head "Not... First tongue..." No, that wasn't right. His muzzle wrinkled once more in frustration as he added more quickly "Russian..." He pointed to himself, hopefully, that would be enough for the other to understand his struggle with speaking the other languages without sounding like a babbling infant. Truth be told, Aurum didn't really have that much of an issue with Siborno's rather slow, broken English. Perhaps some would've expected him to be annoyed by it, considering the fact that he read so much and had such a strong grip on the language, even with his own faint accent slipping into his words. However, it wasn't as if he hadn't spoken to others who didn't really communicate back in his own common tongue. Draekon had never been able to speak long, mainly because of his neck injuries and the fact that he was somewhat feral. Ament hadn't been able to communicate in English either, instead speaking the language of the raptors. That language had been immensely helpful, however, as it had provided Aurum with his new name, making him able to move on from the lowly title of worm that his mother had stuck him with. Needless to say, Aurum didn't have any issue with foreign languages, nor those who spoke them. However, it did lead to a bit of a barrier between him and Siborno, as while Aurum would've been happy to instead use Sib's native tongue, he didn't know even the slightest bit of Russian. So, instead, he decided to go slow, and not use too many big and confusing words that would perplex anyone who didn't know English like the back of their paw.

Shifting his large paws in front of him, the lion nodded his head before he spoke, his own voice a deep grumble, faintly touched with an English accent – although it had grown less noticeable over time, "It's good to hear that you're doing well... it's natural to feel out of place though. For a little while, at least. You're still getting used to this place, and the people in it... just give yourself some time." The amber colored lion then glanced over his shoulder, one of his large wings resting casually against the ground as he continued, "As for me... I'm doing alright. Just like you, I've got some adjusting to do. Thankfully though, I already know some of the people here from when I've attended events. Plus I've fought alongside quite a few of them. I can even try introducing you at some point, if you'd like. It might be easier." He looked back to Siborno, offering the large male a lopsided grin, before he smiled and chuckled at the comment about Sib's "first tongue." Shaking his head from side to side, the angel spoke simply, and casually, "Don't worry about it... I've interacted with others who haven't even known a lick of English before, so it's really not a big deal. Besides, just like with here, you'll get better over time. Pick up on more... I'd just speak Russian with you if I could, but I'm afraid I've never studied even the basics of it." The lion's ears pinned down to his head after a moment, as if he was embarrassed that he hadn't studied up to talk with someone like Siborno.

Siborno would breathe out slowly finishing the rabbit with a soft grunt, his ears would twitch lightly and would listen to Aurum speak, a faint smile appearing on his maw though he remained silent for the most part. He should give himself a bit more time to adjust to those all around him even if he was still tense around most of the Elysites that seemed to inhabit this place, his faint smile being brushed off by a thoughtful frown though he didn't utter much of a word. "I'll do that... Give... Myself time..." He closed his maw with his tongue swiping across his lips listening to how Aurum would need some time to adjust to his new surroundings, his rounded ears twitching at the moment and would lower his gaze briefly when Aurum offered to introduce some of those that resided here to him. He supposed that would be a good idea if he was going to stay here, he doubted that he would do too well by himself out in the wilderness with a missing eye and well, the last thing he wanted was to die by a hungry pack of wolves. "I'd... Appreciate that," The ursine hybrid would utter looking back to the lion in front of him once more and would use a paw to bring a small pile of snow to himself before resting his chin upon it wincing slightly at the cold that touched his fangs.

Ah, Russian was a rather tough language for those who commonly didn't speak it and despite the small language barrier between himself and Aurum, Siborno wanted to try and make it work... Make it easier to communicate to one another without sounding like a complete idiot. "I could... Show... Russian... If you... Help me with En...glish..." The former loner would offer with a nonexistent eyebrow raised, surely, it wouldn't be too hard to show someone his native tongue... Right? "If you want to... Of course," He would add on not wanting the lion to think he was obligated to speak Russian, whatever the case, he was sure that it would benefit the both of them or that's what Siborno hoped for anyways. Re: I NEED A HIMBO / aurum - wormwood. - 07-17-2020

Aurum was a lion who, at this point, had lived many lives. He had lived within The Typhoon briefly, within Tanglewood, within the Knights, out in the loner lands, and back with his original pride when he was just a cub. Prior to his current time in both Elysium and Tanglewood, the angel had been forced to adjust several times to new surroundings, as well as get used to new names, faces, and places. It was honestly sort of amazing how adaptable he was at this point, although he was fairly sure that was just something he had developed from being treated so rigidly as a child. After months upon months of his parents treating him more like a soldier than a son, it was only natural that Aurum would want to branch out, and meet – as well as care for – as many different people as he possibly could. The thought brought a faint smile to his face – which only grew when Sib formed a little pile of snow to rest his chin upon, a little chuckle leaving the lion. He supposed it was a good idea, save for the cold that immediately made Siborno wince. Letting out a soft hum, the male found himself nodding afterwards, "It's really no problem. Most of the people here are nice, if not a little bit eccentric... I'm sure they'll be a fan of you in no time." Aurum was well aware of how intimidating Siborno could seem at first glance, especially with the language barrier, but he was also pretty sure he was beginning to see what was down inside – and it was nice.

Speaking of the language barrier, the feline couldn't say he was surprised by the hybrid's offer to teach him some Russian in exchange for learning English, but that didn't diminish his excitement at the prospect. He had always enjoyed learning new things, and mutually teaching each other would not only hopefully make them closer together, but would give him excuses to ask questions about the other male without coming off as weird. Honestly, Aurum just wanted to make a new friend of Sib, especially since it seemed as though the other had been quite the loner before this. With his tail flicking happily behind him, the lion offered Siborno a grin and a nod of his head, his voice coming out in a soft chuff, "That sounds like it would be fun, I think I'd like that. English can be a bit complex with all the little rules it has, but I'll try my best to teach you right, provided you do the same." He didn't have any doubts that Sib would try his hardest to teach him Russian well, although he had a feeling the teaching would be a little bit difficult both ways, at least at first. After all, there was still a barrier between them, and they needed to be able to communicate rules and concepts effectively.
