I DO, I DO. | renegadeanthems. - DELILAH. - 10-23-2019 DELILAH EVERGARDEN "The Gods have forsaken us."
While the warmth of her still soft cocoon was something she didn't want to leave, the coldness of being lonely remained. She couldn't explain it- as if someone was waiting for her. The patient feeling making her calm inside of her shell.
Delilah had been sick for a while, but never spoke of it to anyone. The black goo that dripped from her mouth, the very black igor that poured from her eye sockets. She was impure, and the curse her mother had placed on her had been activated from flashbacks of her trauma. Contagious. She was bound to make others sick, so she stayed away from her home. Away from Renegade and their adopted child. Flint would be confused, but her little spitfire could handle this much. This was just a minor hiccup. She could vaguely hear the sound of someone talking- two people. The familiar scent of her boyfriend- Renegadeanthems.. She missed him so. Warm.. Her mind idly wished she'd never have to leave this place. Never have to leave this cocoon, but her more reasonable side told her that she couldn't stay asleep for long. She was home, though. That's all that mattered. When it came to things like this, he wasn't very educated- he wasn't very educated when it came to a lot of things. But he's slowly learning, slowly observing, slowly adapting to new situations that he's never been exposed to prior. It was a good thing in his eyes; change was scary... it can be scary but, it was inevitable. To Ren, it was... Terrifying. Change was something he had very little control over and he despised that. Something he couldn't command could easily push him into a corner and no matter how hard he defended himself, he wouldn't win. He couldn't win. However, on all those frightening accounts of change in his life, he would easily forget how well he adjusted overtime. It was as though nothing happened. Leaving his tribe, joining Tanglewood, meeting Delilah, seeing her and those around him as equals and not bones for him to pick his teeth with- no... He was still struggling with the last one but he despised himself for thinking such a way. He felt it in his heart it was wrong and he wants to get rid of it, but who would have thought a self-healing journey would be this hard? At this point it was anyone's game. When others came to visit Delilah, the demon would rise from his spot and greet them the best he could. His social skills have also slightly improved and he feels a bit more confident in his day to day interactions. Everyone seemed to be concerned for her and rightfully so. As far as being confused about this development, he was alongside them. Though, it made a small amount of sense considering she's a faerie but that's as far as the connection goes. Despite being able to telepathically communicate with her, Ren misses seeing her face light up and her affectionate nudges- actions he felt undeserving of for the longest of while. It was only recently did he tell himself that he is worthy of love and affection... Sometimes. Only sometimes. Little did he know he was deserving of it all the time but baby steps. When the small-talk was finished, Ren said his farewells and returned to the cocoon that laid still in their room. "Another visitor," he thought, moving around the room in attempt to find something to do. "She said she misses you and hopes you make a quick recovery." He added telepathically. I miss you more but that is fine I guess. He thought with a pout, deciding it would be best just to lay next to her. He couldn't find anything to keep him busy so he figured relaxation was the next best thing. |
