Re: IT'S GIVING ME AGITA ☆ vayne - LUMIA CIPHER. - 03-18-2021

As Vayne confirmed that The Typhoon was indeed a safe place to be, Lumia felt a strange sense of warmth filling her chest. It really was new and odd, to truly be able to consider a place home. She had become so used to wandering, and never feeling as though she was safe... she didn't feel like that anymore, though. Instead, Mia knew that if she stumbled or fell, there would be others around to catch her, and help her back up. Granted, she hadn't even met a large portion of The Typhoon yet, but those she had? They were kind, and understanding, and she wanted to grow closer to them. The feline found that she didn't want to leave and keep wandering, as she had felt so many times before.

Feeling a smile curl onto her muzzle, Lumia nodded firmly before she spoke up once more, "Yeah... it really seems like you're right. And I'm glad for that. It'll take a while for me to get used to, after so much time traveling... but I think it'll be a nice thing to get used to. Plus, it'll be nice to finally get to know my family that isn't so cruel." As if to illustrate her point, the wheat colored feline moved forward to wrap her arms around Vayne, pulling the other in for a brief hug. It wasn't as all encompassing as she would've liked, considering she was only a little larger than Vayne, but it got the point across.

At first, Vayne flinched as Lumia came to hug her, but eventually she relaxed and allowed herself to try and press her head into Lumia's chest-fur. "It... must have been rough travelling with Caesar, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that..." If he was anything like her mother, then Vayne was sure that it was excruciating, having to deal with the constant verbal and emotional abuse. Or... physical abuse, in Lumia's specific case. Aphra didn't harm Vayne hardly at all, but her mother definitely had threatened it more than once. "But I'm glad you're here now. It... feels nice having someone here that relates a little to what I've been through."[glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]

Lumia initially felt a bit of panic when Vayne flinched and tensed up, but she relaxed as well when her niece seemed to calm down. She laughed a little bitterly as she heard the other's apology, shaking her head from side to side, "Don't worry about it... it was bad, but I'm not going to let it loom over me for the rest of my life. The people here in The Typhoon... they're far kinder. I know they wouldn't let anything like that happen to me again, and I won't let it happen to myself, either." She could feel a sense of warmth and determination filling her heart now, short nub of a tail flicking back and forth.

As she released Vayne from her grip, she nodded and muttered, "I'm glad to be here too... and I'm glad to have met you. I don't exactly have a lot of practice being an aunt, but... I promise I'll do my best! And besides... I can't wait to see you do bigger and better things." Vayne was still so young, and yet she was still making big strides within The Typhoon. Steps that Lumia hadn't even taken yet... she'd be lying if she said it didn't fill her with pride, to know that it was her niece doing that.
