Re: modernist sensibility - [COTC VISIT] - lavi s. - 09-12-2020 The tension is heavy as the mountain cat arrived on the border, watching through thoughtful eyes. Watchful and steady, the wildcat joined the others standing besides Tena, head held high. His spitfire friend certainly had a way with words but Lavi understood clearly. He'd promised before -- he would always stand besides her. He would follow her to the ends of the earth. "With all due respect, I agree with that assessment," the Jedi spoke simply, nodding towards Rosemary. "Elysium is a community -- an alliance with someone who clearly makes our own uncomfortable would not be right." Lavi did not like the lion, though he kept his words plain and diplomatic. A vague memory of Pittian Ardents past made him wary. Slaver. No wonder Tena hated him at first sight. His chocolate eyes grew firm -- Lavi would not stand an alliance to any kind of depur. He could not betray Tena like that. In the end, it may not be his call, but every Elysium leader before had listened to the community. They made decisions together. But if they did not heed their word, then Lavi knew what the end result may be -- Tena would never sit by and accept something that went against her views... He could only hope it would not come to violence in that event. Re: modernist sensibility - [COTC VISIT] - kinglykingstone - 09-14-2020
The first place Alani's eye's would land after his speech would be the kitsune that towered above them all. With a lash of tail he shook his head. "Sakasu," he would hiss, giving the Dwarf Star a stern look. "While I understand your anger, there will be no killing today." His gaze would move back to his former leader, meeting his eyes. "This is a peaceful meeting and will stay as such." It was said for all gathered, they didn't need fighting upon their border. Bloodshed was not how they wished to go with this. Hani, seeming to gather his nerve, would straightem his head, ears pricking as Stryker reacted surprisingly positive to his other half's statement. They would remain silent, listening as the members of their group would speak. There was quite a choice on their paws, one that could have dire consequences either way. They needed a way out without spurring the leader of the Coalition and without losing the loyalty of the gathered Drawf Stars. "It has been made clear that my members would not be comfortable with such an alliance." Hani had finally decided to speak up, surprising Alani. Tail flicking, blue eyes glanced over all of those gathered before returning to the pale lion. "We will not be declaring the Coalition our enemies but, on this day, we can not accept the invitation to become allies. We do hope you understand, as we are prioritizing the comfort and opinions of our members." Alani nods along, hoping they were taking the correct course of action. "We are aware of the Coalition's plight and, if you agree to remain peaceful with the Elysium and it's members, we will have no intention if interfering." He spoke slowly, carefully, much more serious than you could often catch him being. HAVE YOU SEEN MY SISTER EVELYN? Wasn't that a disappointment. To his knowledge, Elysium lacked loyal alliances and were rarely involved within other groups. Wouldn't they like to be included? Or have backup when needed? The Kingpin merely frowned. He thought they would be wise enough to accept his offer, but their reflections on his past proved him wrong. Stryker was working on a better future nevertheless. If they wanted to accumulate dust while his animals prosper, so be it.
With a sigh, he nodded. "If you find that suitable," the lion remarked. For now, he had no intentions on negotiating further, although he was annoyed. "I hope that can change one day, as I wish no harm upon your group either." Hani and Alani were valuable espionages. Stryker wouldn't let them slip away too easily. Keeping up his appearances within their group would eventually sway their opinion, correct? He didn't quite know yet. Nonetheless Stryker would try. An ally was valuable and when The Pitt was at it's worse, they had no one to turn to, which is why his reign crumbled and that tyrant took over. Pitiful. He raised a paw, offering a subtle wave. "I should be heading home then. Thank you for accompanying me," he finalized with a smirk. "Ta ta, farewell!" And with that, he disappeared back into the neutral grounds. //sorry for the late post, the 14th is when i whacked my head and gave myself a concussion lmao THE WEAK ONES ARE THERE TO JUSTIFY THE STRONG DON'T BOTHER TO RESIST OR I'LL BEAT YOU — Reggan
