[align=center][div style="bgcolor= black; width: 500px; font-family: georgia;font-size:12px;text-align:justify"]Moth had been preparing herself, getting closer and closer to the male, to give him a hug if he so needed, though she hadn't expected him to suddenly give her a hug and ears would pin to the back of her head once more in slight shock, head soon tilting down so that it could rest on the top of his head in comfort, speechless for the time being as she simply just let him cry it out.

When he began to speak, she took the words and absorbed them, shock filling her once more for only a fraction of a second before she strengthened the hug slightly, enough so that it was tight but loose enough that it wouldn't be restricting, and she would speak at last. "I'll always be here for you if you need me." She would speak, eyes closing for a moment.

[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]It took a moment for her words to register in his sluggish skull, but when they did, he swallowed roughly. "Always?" he croaked, unbelieving but hopeful.

‘Always’ was a dangerous promise.

One couldn’t promise always. There wasn’t an always to give. Death and destruction might destroy a happy little always; exhaustion and anger could weather it. People came and went, and though he doubted that Moth would want to leave, sometimes things don’t happen because you want them to.

Still, he wanted to believe in Moth’s always. The idea that he could find solace in her company at any time was comforting. Appealing, even. Selby sagged the slightest bit into their contact, done for the most part with tears but having trouble finding the strength to disentangle himself from her grasp. Normally he didn’t crave this kind of contact. Usually he preferred to keep his hands to himself and express his thoughts with words. This wasn’t an average day though, and certainly not a usual conversation.

Just a little while longer, he promised himself, clutching her just the slightest bit tighter, barely noticeable.
