TAKE ON ME ☆ visiting the shore - wormwood. - 07-30-2019

While Wormwood was finally managing to adjust to his new home in the swamp that Tanglewood inhabited, that didn't mean that he wasn't still bothered by the overwhelming heat, particularly in the mornings when he had just woken up and already the air was suffocatingly humid. Unfortunately he had been sleeping and napping a lot more lately thanks to the recent death in the group that made him feel lethargic and worried. In fact, sometimes he just spent the night in Poet's house sleeping on the floor instead of going back to his own home because of how worried he had been about the other passing out and passing away lately. It made him feel somewhat comforted, but Poet's house unfortunately wasn't any less horribly hot than his house was.

Growing more and more tired of experiencing nothing but awful heat for the last few days,
Wormwood had finally decided to try going to the shore that he had been hearing about from different npcs when he had asked about how the hell to get around the territory without getting hopelessly lost every other moment. Apparently it had lots of nice clean and cool water, and also sometimes accumulated small shells, rocks, and other things he could perhaps collect. It had taken a bit of searching and asking around, but eventually Worm had found his way to the shore, grinning at the clear waters in front of him that contrasted so starkly with the marshlands he had just emerged from.

Not wasting any time, he moved out into the water, letting it wash over his paws and ankles, before he went a bit deeper in and practically laid down, letting the water wash over him and rinse the dirt and mud out of his fur. Chuckling loudly for the first time in several days, the large golden lion began to roll around in the water, flicking his paws and throwing water up into the air. He laughed gleefully at just how nice and comfortable he felt as he rolled and splashed in the clean water. He flicked his ears and went to the edge of the water, pushing his paws into the rocks and silt and searching around with his nose for anything interesting. When he managed to find a small sand colored shell, he made a happy deep purring noise and put it aside, laying back down and closing his eyes in relaxation as he felt the small waves roll against his fur. It was probably the most happy and carefree had been in... ages, really.

[align=center][div style="width: 55%; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Being a creature that was meant to live in the coldest environments meant that a boggy swamp and forest was not exactly the most comfortable living space. She wouldn’t complain though, it would just take some time to get used to. Her thick pelt was horrifically hot. She had been rapidly shaking her fluff for hours upon hours in some desperate attempt to let the heat leave from where it was trapped in her fur.

Exploring was fun, and with word that there was a beach here had certainly piqued her interest. Beach? Water? Cold water at that, hopefully! So Feza had bound over in massive bounds (massive for her size, of course) and came skidding to a halt when her paws met the sand. “Ah! Ah! Spicy ground! The ground is spicy!” Feza shouted as she tumbled in the sand by her sudden halt. She sent up sand as she got back up. Oh! There was the lion fellow that had greeted her at her first arrival. How neat to be seeing him again. “Oh, hi! Are you, is that shell hunting?” Her noisy voice usually broke the calm, but she was more so immediately distracted by some tiny broken shells that rolled forth in a wave. Her heat related issues forgotten, her claws extended to root through the broken shells. “Oh the water is- it’s cold!

Re: TAKE ON ME ☆ visiting the shore - DELILAH. - 07-30-2019

Delilah Evergarden
tanglewood | 23 m/o | femme | dark faerie

"Spicy ground?"

Was that some type of marijuana strain? She should look into it-

Delilah eventually walked closer to the sound of one person shouting, and water sloshing, a basket of raspberries held tightly between her maw as she avoided the sand. She merely waited on the grass, watching the two blindly as they relaxed and panicked about the ground being hot, apparently.

Her paws tapped and scraped at the ground, Delilah laying out after dropping her basket in favor of stretching out to sunbathe. She could just listen to them- it was comforting that way..

Wormwood's nice and peaceful splashing around had been interrupted when all of a sudden the absolute eye sore of a leopard came walking over. He had no problem with her personally – well, at least somewhat. She was very very loud, which he didn't appreciate, but he didn't hate her – but her color scheme made his eyes ache and his head feel dizzy if he looked at her too fast. Stilly, she was directly asking him a question, and he figured he should probably answer. Rolling over a bit so that he was laying on his stomach instead of on his back in the shallow water, the lion stretching himself out before mumbling softly, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"I do enjoy collecting things, and shells are very pretty. Plus they're a nice memento of coming here to cool off for a bit."[/glow] He definitely wanted to remember this, since the warmth in his chest was now of happiness, and not of overwhelming humidity.

Hearing Delilah as she came over, the lion looked up at the blind female and smiled slightly, tilting his head. He liked Delilah. She seemed calm and mostly collected at all the times that he had seen her, and when he had first joined she had even mentioned how she was helping Poet out with his issues. Heaving himself up to the very edge of the water, Wormwood playfully flicked a bit of water in her direction as she sun bathed, rumbling in a relaxed and happy voice, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"I believe that she's talking about the sand being pretty hot today with the sun out. That's all I can really imagine show meanz. If she doesn't.... I have no earthly idea.[/glow] It was nice to see that others were coming around and starting to relax on the shore with him. It felt like the group members needed this, given recent events.

Re: TAKE ON ME ☆ visiting the shore - Ubbe - 07-31-2019

Ubbe hadn't thought about heading to the shore but upon exploring he found himself there anyway. He saw a few other group members there. He wasn't surprised given the heat of the swamps. Already the breeze from the water felt much better. Ubbe flicked his ear before moving over to the water, just listening in silence as the others spoke, not wanting to disturb them.

The canine had been around larger bodies of water his whole life. But truthfully, he hated going in. He had a fear of going in water, as stupid as that seemed. But the burning sand didn't feel too great on the pads of his paws. So he could make an exception. Ubbe made his way to the edge of the water, cautiously making his way into the water. The moment the water touched his paws, he flattened his ears and quickly backed out, moving away from the shore line. He sat down on the sand, trying to compose himself.

[align=center][div style="bgcolor= black; width: 500px; font-family: georgia;font-size:12px;text-align:justify"]Having been walking around for a while, Moth had come to the conclusion that she was bored. Sick and tired of her collecting sticks, the female had decided that it was time to check out the shore, see if there was something there that she'd like, something that would add difference in her collection of things. Although most things at the shore were things she wouldn't be able to put into her tail, the female thought it a nice idea to head there to try and collect something. Maybe she'd even find a pet if she was lucky - but it was unlikely.

Padding in that direction, she heard the sound of splashing and the sound of voices, and she would quickly skirt her way around to the shore, eyes glancing over all who was there. Most of them were creatures much bigger than herself, and they were all newer members that she had never really met or known, and it made her uneasy.

Ears flattening to her head, Moth would make her way over to the group, stepping into the water before sitting down, choosing to watch while she cooled off in the water.

[glow=#000,1,400]BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND YOU, AND I WILL NOT BE PART OF YOUR DESIGNS — 。+゚.[/glow]
When Ubbe arrived, Wormwood rolled over onto his side in the water before making a face and sitting back up when he felt water slosh against his ear. Shaking his head from side to side, he watched Ubbe for a moment before chuckling and saying softly as he laid his chin down against the sand in front of him, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"You alright there, Ubbe? I take it you're not a huge fan of water?"[/glow] He supposed he could understand that, given how the water could have connections to various different traumas that someone may face. Still though, Worm couldn't imagine anywhere he'd rather be than laying in the water right now, given how he'd been forced to slog through blazing hot mud for the last few days.

Wormwood's eyes immediately flicked over to Moth when she came and sat down in thewater, evidently with the same goal as him in mind, just with a bit less enthusiasm and splashing. Clearing his throat a little bit, the large lion flicked his tail in her direction as a greeting, not wanting to get up and scare her off, since she seemed wary around the newer members, a group which he was apart of, [glow=#793B29,1,400]"Hey there. Wow... a lot of us are coming down to the shore today, huh? I hope that I wasn't so loud that I attracted all of you here... I don't think we've met before. I'm Wormwood."[/glow]

Re: TAKE ON ME ☆ visiting the shore - Ubbe - 07-31-2019

Ubbe glanced over at Worm when he spoke. He narrowed his eyes slightly, lowering his head a bit. ”Just fine.” Ubbe muttered. Of course, he wasn’t angry at Worm for asking. He was just more embarrassed then anything. He then glanced back towards the water. ”I just had a bad experience once near water with one of my younger brothers. It’s a stupid fear to have, I know.” Ubbe said, shrugging a bit.

[align=center][div style="bgcolor= black; width: 500px; font-family: georgia;font-size:12px;text-align:justify"]Eyes flickered and ears swiveled towards the Wormwood, ears quickly pinning to her head as she realized that he was talking to her, though at the words that he spoke they rose once more, nodding her head. "I heard the noise, yeah. But it's okay." She would speak, looking down at her feet, watching the mud swirl around her paws for a moment as it began to settle, showing the rocks and creatures underneath. Upon looking back up she would nod her head once more. "My name's Moth... it's good to meet you."

It would be a while before she was fully comfortable around most that was here, them being so much bigger than her. She still didn't trust a lot of those that were here before her, the exception being only two at this point in time. She hoped to one day be able to trust all of her group mates, but it was the small steps.
