elysium visitor [★] SEPTEMBER'S CHILDREN - Tena M. - 07-25-2019

Tena Moonspinner
The petite sand cat may have spent some time marveling at the different biome (she never truly grew out of the childlike wonder of a child just out of the desert) if she was not on business.  Rather unfortunate business.  Indeed, her unusual blue hues flickered brightly across the swamp, tail flicking to and fro in agitation.  The Demdji hoped they had a decent answer for her, or they might see trouble.  Elysium was founded on principles of justice and by the Mother did she intend to find out who thought they could waltz across the border and kill one of her people.

Tena forced herself to sit, curling her tail tightly around her paws.  She ought to have some composure.  For now.  "Hey!" Her voice cut icily across the swamp, loud and clear, intent on some immediate attention.  "Someone better have an explanation to why I've found an Elysite dead with your scent on it."

Re: elysium visitor [★] SEPTEMBER'S CHILDREN - Warringkingdoms - 07-25-2019

[font=trebuchet ms]It felt strangely empowering to be able to confront a clanmate’s murderer.

In the past, if one of her clanmates was killed, generally the killer was either too powerful to take vengeance against, or had an entire clan backing them up that could easily destroy her own if she said anything. Not this time, though. Tanglewood was powerful, but Rin knew they wouldn’t be able to fight a war on two fronts, nor would they want to.

Still, she wasn’t about to let Tena go off alone, not when someone capable of violently slaughtering a saber tooth was on the loose. The last thing she needed on her conscience right now was the murder of Elysium’s leader. Following Tena quietly, Rin covered her mouth with her scarf to try and filter out the stench. She’d put up with the scent of walls of rotting bodies before, but those were different days.

After Tena called out her demands, Rin lowered the scarf from her face and added aloud, ”The body had the word ‘Anti’ carved into it. If that means anything.” It might implicate the killer, it might be a false lead, but either way it was relevant information that might help solve the case.

As far as Moth knew, she had never met anyone from the Elysium, so the scent of the other was foreign to the fox's nose. When she heard the words that came from Tena's maw, the female pieced things together, having heard of the group before from her group mates that she had now, as well as one or two rogues when she had been one herself.

"There was a body?" The female would speak, trying to confirm it to herself. That was odd, something that she didn't think most here would do. She couldn't say for sure, due to not knowing many here, but she did know that was something that Crow wouldn't allow unless it was on an enemy like the Pitt, and she didn't think that Elysium was an enemy.

Looking to Tena and then back to Rin, the small creature would shake her head in an apology. "I'm sorry, but I don't really know anything about it. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head right now either that would do such a thing." She knew that Beck had come back with a head the other day, but he didn't really seem like the kind who would go out of their way to kill someone, but more so of the kind of animal that would see a body and want it. He was odd like that, though it was something she liked about the ghost. "We've had a couple of new joiners that I haven't met yet, and they might know something? But otherwise I'm not too sure. Do you think the Pitt could have something to do with it?" Crow had, after all, gone and burned down part of their territory, so could this be Jervis's way of getting revenge on the group for doing so?

Long has it been since his snout tasted the Elysium’s crisp aroma, so much so that its presence somewhat dismayed him. What perplexed Leroy even more, though, was that the group’s juvenile leader made an appearance, and the grim extremity of the dark topic at hand.

"Can’t say I know anythin’ on the topic, sorry," he remarked in a sober manner, rummaging through past memories and current thoughts in an attempt to unearth the reason behind Anti’s significance. His doleful, amber gaze shifted earnestly between the two visiting Elysites, before his eyes finally fell on Moth, who made mention of recent joiners. In all honestly, he knew not a single Tangler (that wasn't currently trapped due to a divine spell) who would stoop so low to dare murder one of Elysium’s citizens. Random acts of homicide did not fit the swamp-dwellers’ senses of humour - practical jokes being Tanglewood’s forte, instead - so it made more sense for a newer member, one who had yet to adapt to the group’s ways, to carry out the acts. Anti. Could be a nickname - which would be weird. Could be an actual name - which would be outright pathetic. Or, possibly, it could be a clue.

Moth also brought up the possibility of Pittian involvement, which seemed probable considering the recent invasion on Elysium soil. However, the apparent swampy scent found lingering around the body debunked the theory.

"’m very sorry to hear that, guys." he continues, ere fixing his troubled expression into a confident one, "I can assure you both that whoever did it won’t get away without serious punishment. Whoever did this don’t know how this place is run - we don’t kill people who haven’t killed us... or our friends."

"I’ll make sure that they learn the hard way."

Re: elysium visitor [★] SEPTEMBER'S CHILDREN - arrow - 07-25-2019

I GRIEVE IN STEREO, THE STEREO SOUNDS STRANGE.
"Ew." Leave it to Arrow to throw in some blunt commentary on a serious topic. She wasn't exactly a fan of murder, especially murder of such upstanding citizens. Hell, who would try and fuck with the Elysium? Didn't seem right, even though she barely knew anything about them, she just knew they weren't ones to leave a bloody grudge behind with someone. Typhoon, sure, but these guys? Nah. That was the weird thing, it made them the last place she'd expect a murder mystery.

The mention of the name carved in made her shake her head. Oh, joy. One of those. If that was a name, they were stupid. What kinda asshole leaves a trail like that? It was like they wanted to be caught, if that was a name of course. Could just be some bullshit. She didn't really know how murderers worked. "Someone's kicking up some trouble alright, none of us knew about it though. I'll keep the stupid name in mind though. Whatever the hell it means."
