There seemed to be a lot of things going on in the groups that Moth didn't understand. She understood things like death, things like fire and war, but what she didn't understand was why groups such as the one she lived it would need something like war, something like death caused by others. She knew death was inevitable, but death at the paws of others? That was something she couldn't understand.

Having seen Stryker on the border of the group, asking to be let in only to be turned away had confused the fox, but when she learned the truth of why he was turned away - that he was the reason their numbers were so small, for he had ordered his own group to come over and kill members of hers - the confusion settled in deeper. She knew the world in and of itself was not good, but it wasn't bad either, and the thought of another group going out of their way to kill another group for no reason other than to kill? That was something the female had never thought would happen - there couldn't be that much bad in the world? Right?

Seeing Beck come back to the camp with a head hanging from his jaws had not helped the female with her confusion. That signal of death was not natural. When one dies, they were meant to die peacefully in their sleep, or even not-so-peacefully due to an illness that couldn't be cured, but they were not meant to be dismembered and charred, whether it be before or after death. Cremated, sure, but charred? That was horrible.

All of this death that the female had seen and heard in her short time of being in the groups overwhelmed the girl, and she couldn't help but stare at the ground, lost in her thoughts, the world around her fading out of existence for a moment as she thought of all of this, chest tightening the more the thoughts invaded her mind, tears slipping out of the corners of the females eyes. The thought of joining a group being a mistake creeping it's way in there as well. There was no death when I was on my own. She would think, swallowing the cry that tried to make it's way out of her maw.
