THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - | RK515 | - 06-21-2019

It wasn't entirely sure what to think of this strange place. RK515 never interacted with a large group of animals, although during its time in the precinct it heard mentions of stray dogs in certain areas of the city. There were rarely any issues with animals that existed in the city, or at least when it went through the reports looking for potential jobs or reviewing them, there was almost never any mention of other animals either. Its programming was based more toward human convenience rather than dealing with animals instead. Because of this, it didn't interact with other animals all that much as they did not pertain to its mission and would only solve to be a distraction. When it was created, the company that put it together took away any feeling of instinct or a feeling of needing to survive. In fact, they took out any feeling whatsoever and attempted to make it the perfect working android that money could make at the time. RK515 knew how much it took to make him, and it ranged to be around a million dollars, in both research funds and then material requirements for the operation. The unit wasn't completely mechanical and had plenty of organic components that kept its body functioning, it wouldn't really consider its body alive as it was kept functioning through the machinery it had. The heart that was in its body also couldn't pump blood on its own and was fitted with a pacemaker. It was slightly strange that instead of using a dog to be used as a K9 unit android prototype, they instead wanted to use a wolf. Maybe it was because the body of a wolf was significantly tougher and could deal with more physical trauma than a regular dog could. Its creation was a feat of human engineering, and its creators made sure to constantly remind it what an achievement it was and why it was important to follow the instructions it was given. There were few other androids that were created, as they were expensive to make and it was hard to find anyone volunteering to have their body replaced with robotic parts with the chance of dying. With an animal, they could deal with the risk as it wasn't a human life. Some ethical issues did pop up during the time that it was being created, as to whether or not it was animal cruelty to put an animal through such extremes. It didn't matter, as the body that it had was basically dead by the time the decision was made to fit the body with metal parts. For most of its hours of operation, the android was taught by humans in a lab and was isolated from the outside world. Without any emotions, there was no worry about the unit growing lonely without the social interaction despite its base species being a wolf.

Its unit was also special as it was capable of learning. One of the few features that were still capable of running in its current state, because when it woke up in this strange environment, several functions were not operational. It was specialized to work with police to investigate crime scenes and take samples and identify what the sample belonged to. The simple AI chip that was attached to its brain allowing these functions, after the development of the AI chip came to the mass market years ago. The AI itself did not have a personality, and itself was just a line of code that was capable of solving problems and coming up with logical solutions in paired with the canine's own mind. This trait allowed the canine to work independently from a police officer if necessary to gather evidence for a case, and it was more efficient than a regular K9 unit. However, this could lead others to believe that it had a sense of curiosity, which is not the case. The machine only has the intent to learn about its surroundings so in case the information is ever needed again it can access the data in a matter of seconds. While with the police department, it was able to access several different networks, such as the internet and the company networks that created him. There were several objectives that it was given upon its creation, and it would quickly report any findings it had to the company that created it, or to the police department itself. It once used to file reports to the captain of the police department when Hal was too lazy to do it himself. RK515 was specifically assigned to the lieutenant because the Hal was a former detective that was amazing at his job, and that he had destructive tendencies that the department wanted the canine to document in case Hal needed to be threatened by relief of duty. Either way, RK515 took its job extremely seriously and would do anything that it could to make sure that it accomplished its mission and remained successful. It could not fail, and so far in its creation, it had yet to fail. That statement may be false as the last memory it had before arriving in a forest was forced shutdown after getting struck with a bat while attempting to arrest a suspect with a warrant.

The android was uncertain how to perceive the group that they had just arrived at. It would trust Hal's judgment, as its main objective was to protect Lieutenant Hal and to monitor the man that had somehow turned into a Saint Bernard. They were just trying to find answers, and the android was trying its best to come up with a logical reason why it was possible in the first place. So far, RK515 did not enjoy the sand that covered the desert. The sand particles continued to get into the small spaces between the metal plating of its legs, sending alerts to its head that the parts would need constant cleaning. For once, it's metal limbs did not seem to give it all that much of an advantage in this landscape. Maybe its creators never really thought of sandy environments as it was built more for the city itself. This led RK515 to constantly shake out its legs with every chance that it got, and try to prevent itself from sinking in the sand further. Right now, it was gathering information at the edge of the desert, taking in as much information as possible, and so far it seemed like it was focused on the plant life that was surrounding the area. The black and silver eurasian timber wolf stopped in front of a cactus, its right eye turning yellow as it processed the species of plant that was in front of it.

Its right eye soon began to swirl the normal blue as it continued to walk and scan the fauna that lived in the surrounding territory of this civilization. Each time it seemed to stop next to the plant, the android's robotic right eye swirled a yellow and its eyes twitched as it processed and gathered data.

The ground where RK515 was walking was a little bit harder with rocky surfaces spread across the area. It was while it was walking around, it noticed a small dark patch in the sand, and it crouched low to investigate the mark. To any passerby, it may just look like dirt or some other soil that could have gotten mixed up in the sand. Based on its memory, however, it did not make sense for the darker patch to be here. There was no smell that it could identify coming off of the patch, and so instead it did another method. Its salmon-colored tongue slithered out of its jaws and touched the dark patch of soil bringing it back into its mouth for tasting. The function that quickly went into effect was considered to be a power to most animals, but its enhanced senses kicked in with its taste as it was able to analyze the sample that it just took.

Analyzing Acquired Sample:

Sample Composition: Plasma, Red blood cells, White blood cells, and Platelets

Sample: Blood

Blood Type: DEA 1.1

Species: Mixed Breed Canine

Sample Is Approximately 3 Weeks Old

Well, this wasn't a good sign. But again, it was in a place with wild animals that could easily get injured or killed fighting over territory. Although, it still brought some suspicion as there was obviously no sign of a corpse or bones in the area so it either meant the one that spilled the blood here did not die, or the corpse was taken away before the sand could bury it. The android simply remained standing there as its right eye swirled yellow as it processed the information.

Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - Casphian - 06-25-2019

A white and black tiger paced around the border, not yet sure what to do with himself. He had just recently joined the clan and had yet to find his place amoungst the others. Jupiter had never been “one with the others”, having always been an outcast. He grew up in a rather peaceful and joyous tribe and was always seen as the loner, the outcast. As a cub None of the other young ones wanted to play with him and none of the adults wanted to protect him. He figured the reason behind this was the fact that his parents had been killed when he was young, with no trace of the attackers and only his helpless self curled up between the two. Everyone in the tribe believed some evil force had gotten its revenge on his parents and then settling inside of Jupiter, making him its host. Was that true? No one actually knew. Because of this he was he grew up hating his tribe and everything that had to do with it. He became violent and untrusting, always guarded and always having something to say. As he got older he grew further and further apart from the tribe, finally becoming the true outcast they saw him as. Not long into his adult years Jupiter was cast out of his tribe, for things he’d rather not speak or think about.

The white tiger was then left to his own devices, walking endlessly. He went from clan to clan, always stopping long enough to rest but never stayed. It wasn’t until he heard whispers on the wind of a clan full of violent beings that he thought he finally found a clan made just for him. And so Jupiter went on a search of finding this clan that he so dearly wished to join. Along the way he gained a much colder heart and exterior, drawing in on himself and casting others out. He killed many, much out of self defense some for his own deadly desires. After many months of travel and searching he finally found the clan he had been searching for, The Pitt. That’s now where he found himself today, walking along the borders of the clan. He had just recently killed a small animal, the blood still lingering on his white pelt, the taste still on his tongue. He had just settled down under a tree when the scent of an unknown person drifted to him. He pushed himself back up onto all fours, ears swiveling forwards. “Who’s there?” He called out in a rather demanding question, his tone cold and harsh.

RK was an oddity. That was the more likely response that it got from the humans that crossed its paths. Some humans believed the achievement to be extremely interesting and took interest in its mechanical components. Without the ability to speak the human language, RK was not able to explain to those that it came across how exactly its unit worked and all the different features. Other's looked at it what it had been taught as disgust. The human race knew exactly what its creators had done in order to get the final product that was now what they showed. They took an animal against its own will, although it was on the verge of death, and transformed it into anything but an organic being. They had stripped any aspect of a normal animal away from the android, and in turn, made what they considered to be one of the most perfect machines that existed at the time. It was a massive achievement for humans to create a fully functioning android. One that needed batteries to run but could easily recharge at any of their stations. This lead to its creators to looking into the future of what else they could make. RK did not have the ability to care about the future of its own existence and did not care about the opinions that humans had when they looked at it. There was no reason to because all that mattered were the missions that it needed to complete and the humans that it needed to protect. More often than not, there were rumors that robots would end up taking over the jobs of their creators. The company that made it, wouldn't stop at just creating androids from animals, but instead would start making android humans. Machines were almost statistically better when it came to certain tasks and without the human error component in their job. However, in its coding, RK was not capable of going against its human creators, and in fact, it was made to think that humans were the most advanced beings. Despite how much they always had to concern themselves about that could easily be changed if they removed what was concerning them from their life. RK also knew that there were several movies that humans created robots going against their creators, and this stemmed to the fear that humans felt when seeing almost sentient robots. RK was not one of those, as it was not capable of independent thought from the brain implants that used to be attached to its brain to alter certain parts of its brain. One thing that RK had noticed with the small number of interactions with animals in this area, was that they did not seem at all disturbed from its appearance. Based on its memory banks, there were no other creations that were similar to what it was, and that meant that its appearance was unique and all to its own. Could animals judge? RK was positive that animals were not as capable of humans when it came to thoughts and emotions, and instead were ruled by instincts alone. Compared to Hal, RK no longer had any instinct and acted more like a human in its behaviors as it was raised by humans and not by a pack of wolves.

Another portion of its coding did not allow it to use any lethal force against any organic being. It would have been bad for the company that created it to have a human death from one of its own creations. Bad marketing and it would also make the public believe that the robots were too easily designed to kill humans. Human life went above all else, and any other animal life was not held with any care and instead was manipulated for their own gain. After all, it was how dogs came into existence from selective breeding of wolves. Instead of using lethal force, RK was forced to restrain human criminals as quickly as possible. It was allowed to inflict injuries on those that refused to comply with the human demands of the officers that were on the scene. The worst injury that RK had ever given another human was a severe concussion and broken ribs. The K9 unit had attacked a human, most of the time using its heavier body weight to throw the suspect onto the ground. This time, RK had ended up knocking the criminal down and the human had ended up hitting its head on a piece of furniture that was inside of the apartment where he was hiding. At first, the android did not realize the condition that the human was in, and its mechanical limbs put a little bit too much pressure onto the unconscious human's chest, breaking a couple of ribs. It took several seconds for the coding to go into effect and realize that the human's brain activity suddenly slowed down. As soon as the unit realized the human was unconscious and was unmoving, all movement from the unit stopped and it immediately moved away from the human. RK's right eye swirled red at the potential of having actually killed the man. After a couple of scans, its eye returned back to normal after realizing that as soon as the medical team arrived on the scene the man would be alive and well, but have to be monitored for the concussion. This did not go unheard of by the media, and the groups that did not approve of androids being made latched onto the story like evidence that androids were too dangerous to have around and all should be decommissioned. Luckily, the success rate of the android working with police overrides the small opinion of the public. RK515 continued to be an important unit for the police department.

The coding in its system also meant that it was against it to kill organic beings. This meant that hunting for food was almost of the question. However, thanks to the human's changing its body, it meant that it had a slower metabolism so that the unit did not need to eat as much. Its metabolism was more compared to that of a reptile rather than that of a mammal. Upon hearing a voice, the mechanical animal lifted its head. With its enhanced hearing, it was able to figure out the direction that the voice did come from. It was odd to have so many animals speak so freely, as the animals that it encountered in the city didn't really communicate in such a way. It's black and silver fur made it stand out against the lighter colored sand. Looking from the side of a bush, it noticed that a large animal was underneath a tree. The right eye of RK turned yellow as it began to scan the creature in front of it, using its memory of all the different animals to identify which animal it was.

RK515 never had to deal with larger animals for most of its active duty in the police department. The android did see a couple of larger wildcats during a bust of a drug dealer that enjoyed exotic animals, but it never had to encounter them. It was still incredibly strange for the android to come to terms that many different animals seemed to exist in these areas. Especially when tigers were more known to exist in other jungles or near India. No emotion was on the androids face, but it did seem to have perfect posture and remained standing straight, its white mechanical limbs a stark contrast to the rest of the color of its body and the sand. The eurasian timber wolf's right eye remained yellow, as it did not believe being in the presence of a large wild animal was without risk. It remained at least 35ft away, but it was within earshot. "[glow=#212121,2,200]Hello. I am a Unit RK515. Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - Casphian - 07-04-2019

Jupiter peered over at the creature that peered before him, head tilting in confusion. He realized the other spoke up with a question which caused him to be even more confused. “If you’re asking if I’m apart of this clan then yes I am,” he mused. The tiger padded closer to the timber wolf, taking in the metallic parts that clearly didn’t belong on the other’s body. He padded around the male, lowering his head and sniffing at him but never touching. The feline was curious if course, as most were when something new and exciting came about. He didn’t care that RK looked different he was more curious as to why he looked as he did and what caused it. “What business do you have here?” He questioned, finally coming to a stop in front of RK, tail swaying behind him.

Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - | RK515 | - 07-05-2019

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -

There was little that RK knew about other animals. The android had been raised specifically by humans and to react to humans. The brain implants that it once had changed its thought process and was able to learn some of the emotions that humans were capable of expressing. The expensive piece of technology was hidden away from the world just in case it got influenced by its surroundings. Not to mention that the scientist didn't want it to get destroyed or broken in any way as any sort of repairs would have been a significant amount of money at the time. It was only after a couple of years after its creation that its parts became easier to construct as cheaper materials were found and used instead of the heavier more expensive pieces. Over time, Unit RK515 received several different upgrades as technology began to improve. Upgrades made the job that it was given a lot easier to conduct and made it more efficient. However, despite being partly an AI, it was not allowed to help with creating other different upgrades for it and instead was forced to leave it to its creators. Without independent thought, it wasn't really able to think about what it wished it could have, and instead just utilize what it was capable of and find a solution to the problem at that time. Because of the way it was created, the only information it had on other animals were documentaries that it could access when it worked with the humans. It didn't have much else to do during the downtime or the time off that he and the Lieutenant had at the time. There were some instances where Hal would leave the TV in his house on, and RK would remain sitting in front of the TV gathering the information from the English speaking narrator. Since the unit was supposed to be capable of learning, any information that it did not know, it absorbed like a sponge. Almost like a child trying to learn something new. It could not ask questions to its owner as they did not speak the same language, but it was capable of surfing the internet for any questions that it did have in regard to information that he may have overheard. The canine had an entire database on different dog breeds, as in a city different humans would have different dog breeds and all could be owned. The database had gone as far to look at the oldest breeds and the first documentation of them. RK515 used the exact same methods for domesticated cats, as there were occasional cats that could be seen roaming around, mostly as strays depending on which side of town that he and his owner were on. However, this only means that RK515 is only capable of identifying species and their danger level. It is not as capable as to understand different body language, as the only information it had ever acquired were from the documentaries, and most only showed animals in situational events that required action. This did not mean that it was not capable of learning, as with each new interaction it would acquire some form of new data, whether that data be small, it was still something that it silently praised itself for acquiring as it meant that it was doing its job and what it was designed to do.

From the recent interactions with the different animals in this world, RK515 would prefer to be in the presence of humans. It understood humans to a far more complicated extent than animals where it was not in control of most situations. When the K9 unit used to appear in the field, it was unspoken to a suspect to remain calm and follow instructions or risk potential injury. The Eurasian Timber Wolf, if it was capable of fear, would not have feared any of the humans that it went up against. After all, if it was broken in any way, it could simply be repaired or replaced. Its existence did not undermine the existence of humans and it was in its coding to protect humans over itself. Because of the strange state that it found itself in, as one of its objectives was to protect humans, the objective was forced to be put on hold. It was odd not seeing any human around the area as it was the most abundant species of animal, other than insects, that lived on the Earth. The pollution in the air did not seem to be extensive as it would have been if humans lived in the area. Humans were complicated yes, but at least it had been taught how to deal with humans and did not have to deal with any extra factors. It did not have to pay attention to the speech of humans unless it was being given a command, and instead just needed to focus on reacting rather than communicating. Sure, it was capable of writing reports when Hal did not want to do them, but it rarely had to do much other than be a detective and be the muscle for police officers so that they did not get hurt. In this world, it had to pay more attention to speech patterns as all animals were capable of communicating with it. It needed to learn the body language that varied from one animal to the next so that it would be able to formulate action and how to respond. RK515 had once enjoyed having a constant routine for itself, and now that it's routine was destroyed it was somewhat jarring. The model was made to adapt in the field, and that was its current goal as it would benefit Lieutenant Hal as the Saint Bernard was once a human. The more useful it was to its owner, the more likely that they would be able to survive this ordeal and find humans in some way. RK515 did not have any goal of protecting any animals that it came across if they found themselves in danger. It did not have a means of morals or independent thought to make such a decision on its own. If Hal instructed it to make an action, then RK515 would intervene. The unit was still at a disadvantage of not knowing that powers existed in the animal world, and what were considered to be powers were simple functions that it was able to conduct before even arriving here. Death was certainly a new subject for RK515, but it also knew that it was common in the animal world. The weak died, and the strong triumphed over them. It was the balance that the wild had set for itself, and like when it was built, it had no intention of showing any weakness to those that it interacted with.

RK515 did not move away from its spot as the tiger began to speak toward it. However, as the larger animal began to move toward its direction, its right eye began to swirl a yellow color as it immediately began to scan the wildcat's body language in an attempt to figure out if it was going to become aggressive and attack. In the event of an attack, unit RK515 was instructed to use force as a means of self-defense and dispatch the attacker. Never having heard the term clan used for a large group of animals in one place, RK515 also submitted the word into its databanks and memory.

Unit RK515 Remain On Standby For Action

After its scan, it did not show any signs of aggression or any signs that it was about to physically hurt the android. This did not mean that the unit was not going to remain cautious in case the animal did become aggressive and was always prepared to defend itself. After, it was a wild animal. Wild animals could change their behavior in a moments notice and could not be regarded as being safe around. RK515 would need to warn Hal about the larger predators that lived in the area here until they decided to move on which would most likely happen. As the tiger walked around the unit, it did not turn its head to look at the creature, and instead kept facing forward, letting its enhanced hearing keep track of the location of the animal around its perimeter. Finally, the larger predator came to a stop in front of the android and had to look up toward the tiger as it was significantly taller than it. The expressionless face did not change at the other's question, as it never really did unless it was trying to appease to someone. Maybe the tiger was offering to answer its questions that it had, as it had already answered the first one. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I am currently gathering concurrent data of the surrounding area looking for signs of any nearby human activity. Do you know of any humans that may be in the area?[/glow]" RK515 stated in a slightly digital voice that was not completely organic. There almost seemed to be a static buzz to its voice as well.

Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - Casphian - 07-10-2019

Jupiter let out a huff of a chuckle at that, humans? As far as he was aware there weren’t any humans around for miles. “I think you’ve got the wrong territory bud, there aren’t any humans here,” he said with a small chuckle. The tiger let out a soft rumble, turning his head back towards the camp. Was he sure that there were actually no humans there? No, no he wasn’t but the stranger didn’t need to know that. He turned his head back over to the wolf, gaze narrowing as he took in the other’s appearance. His mind raced with questions, wondering who or what decided to take parts from this wolf and replace it with mechanical things, he wondered if the other ever knew what it was like to have limbs not made from metal. But that was none of his concern just more of a curiosity. He padded closer to the wolf, going to circle him yet another time, tail still swaying behind him. “I must say, you’re quite the creature, I haven’t seen something like you around here before,” he said. “Did the poor puppy get lost?” He teased with a chuckle.

Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - | RK515 | - 07-13-2019

regular text - "[glow=#212121,2,200]speaking[/glow]" -

Humans were interesting in the decisions that they would make. Not only that, with how they treated the environment at the same time. Most humans were keen on simply taking the resources from the Earth and using them for their own benefit. That was perfectly fine in moderation, but humans continued to take what was not theirs to take, and this ended up leaving the entire planet to bake in the heat. RK515 could count how many different toxins were in the city that it was from and how toxic it was to most plant life and other smaller animals in the area. It wouldn't be surprising if there were certain species that were adapting to the strange climate of a city. Peregrine Falcons are another example of this, as in cities they seemed to thrive due to the higher perches of the skyscrapers. The predatory birds using the extra height to be able to see their potential prey, specializing in pigeons, and providing better nesting areas that were less likely to be predated by other birds. However, this is not what happened to other animals, as most of them went extinct without humans even knowing about it. This did not mean that RK515 think that humans were dumb not to come up with a solution to help the planet but instead were too busy thinking about themselves to do anything large scale that would be able to stop the global warming of the planet. This also meant that RK515 did not stand up for animals or the environment. It had been trained to use its environment for its own goal, such as using a tree as a means to get out of a way of an explosion or attack or to even knock someone up against it. The K9 Unit lacked the respect an animal would have when living in its territory or environment, and therefore did not care about the animals that it came into contact with. Instead, RK515 was simply using those that it talked to, gathering information and would immediately leave as soon as it got enough information. RK515 did not kill those that did give it information like one would think, and instead would leave them as the likelihood of a wild animal living to its full documented age was extremely rare and it would die to the elements anyway. RK515 needed to worry about nature right now as it could potentially cause rusting along its legs and corrupt some of its internal workings.

The android seemed to tilt its head slightly at the tiger's response. There were no humans in the area? That couldn't be correct because there were temples that were built by humans. Maybe the simple animal did not seem to have enough knowledge to prove to be useful for the android in its data collection. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I think you do not seem to understand. The structures inside of this area are crafted by humans. Humans are not simply going to abandon their history without preserving it. Is it possible that you have not explored the area extensively to accurately answer my question?[/glow]" Interpreting the way the android spoke almost seemed to take a jab at the white tiger. This, however, was not the case as the android was not capable of having emotion and could not simply sass someone. RK515 spoke in a blunt manner, not taking into consideration of the larger creatures emotions on how they would be impacted based on what it said. The only reason why it would monitor what it would say was if it was around a human, despite not being capable of understanding each other. It wasn't allowed to be a nuisance toward its creators or be faced with an AI that was programmed in its head to punish it if it did something wrong. The android again did not move from its spot as the tiger seemed awfully interested in its structure. Of course, it was just a wild animal after all and interaction with technology was extremely limited in this environment. If anything, the tiger probably has never seen a city in its life. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I am a Unit RK515. An advanced K9 prototype that was developed and released 5 years ago. This area seems to be secluded from human influence, more than likely this spot is found on a national preserve.[/glow]" RK515 explained itself why it was unique, as there was only one of its kind and nothing else. It also spoke as to why nothing like it would be found out here in the middle of nowhere. At the mention of being called a puppy, there was no reaction from the android. It held no emotion for being teased and took jokes seriously. "[glow=#212121,2,200]I assure you I am not a puppy. I am full grown and 5 years old. I have a vague understanding of the exact location and coordinates of this area, and this is why I'm gathering information.[/glow]" The Eurasian timber wolf explained with its right eye shining a blue color. Nothing it said was meant to be taken as an insult, but instead an explanation.

Re: THE HUNTER, THE HUNTED | JUPITER - Casphian - 07-21-2019

Jupiter rolled his gaze at the comments. He wasn’t so sure about this “national reserve,” but he really didn’t care either. He was rather new to this clan so how the hell was he supposed to know anything about the structures that are here. When the other didn’t take notice of his sarcasm and immediately responded with being full grown he let or a huff. “I know you’re full grown, it was a joke,” he said with irritation in his tone. Jupiter had still been circling RK but finally left the wolf be and padded back over to the tree he was under originally. “As I said though, there aren’t any humans here so I’m not sure what else to tell you.”

//Ahh so sorry that this is short I was rushing it to get it up!
