sad to see you go -- Stark - Warringkingdoms - 05-23-2019 [font=trebuchet ms]The pollen was thick this time of year, settling in waves of yellow and beige on her pelt. The flowers were brighter than they had any right to be, but then such was the way of plant life. Its response to the harshness of the surrounding universe was to boast its beauty for the few short months it had. In its own way that was a survival mechanism, attracting creatures to spread its seed far and wide. For a plant that had no concept of repayment or retribution, so long as it was reproducing, that was enough. She had no reason to be envious of their simplicity, as their continued reproduction would keep the herb stocks plentiful for the rest of the season. Though she was not an official medic anymore, if anyone got injured, she would need to be ready. Spotting a patch of marigolds in the fields, Rin walked over to it and lifted up one of the flowers. Young, but healthy, its disinfectant properties would be at a maximum. Picking three of the marigold flowers with her teeth, she placed them into a small satchel slung across her back. It wasn't quite as large as the herb bag she'd used to have, having been retrieved from the greenhouse, but it would work for now. Taking in the scent of the flowers, she found herself wondering where everyone else was. Moonmade was dead, she had heard shortly after returning the first time, and of course she had discovered Suiteheart and Margaery when they had died, but everyone else had either run off in a grand gesture or just stopped showing up to meetings. It was a sad state of affairs, but life was inherently lacking in stability. Shaking her head, she glanced around- there was burdock near here, she recalled, but she wasn't sure where. Once she found that and some comfrey, she could call it a successful trip and go back to the camp. |
