YOU'RE A NATURAL | embry - gael - 05-11-2019 In the heart of night, some quiet presented itself. Children had to sleep after all. When the black and red vulpine felt satisfied he would not have to worry about his little Aine, he trotted into the jungle trees. Hazel eyes turned upward absently towards the sky, glistening with stars. His pelt flashed in and out of shadows, the myriad of colors half-camouflaging him, only to act like a beacon seconds later. He wasn't hiding; only trying not to bother anything. He settled when he found a comfortable place to sit, atop a tree stump. The faerie flicked his ear absently as he inhaled the humid air. Through the branches, he traced constellations; an old pastime that he sometimes wondered if it wasn't influenced by his cousin's fondness of the sky. Doubtless, the studious Raziel could compete with his knowledge of the stars. At least I knew when to leave my books. While he knew their stories, he found them invaluable for another reason; he always knew where he was. So long as they peeked through the trees or clouds. Gael smirked grimly, knowing just how far he had traveled from home and reminding himself he ought to teach Aine the way back too, one day. For now, he knew, this was home. While not entirely accustomed to the wetter climate, Gael knew he could adapt. He would have to, for the sake of his plans. // [member=483]EMBRY[/member] "ISN'T IT LOVELY?" —-- gael ó broin / faerie / the pitt / lamby Re: YOU'RE A NATURAL | embry - SÉAMUS - 05-15-2019 [div style="width: 450px; line-height: 12px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 8pt;"]— 'cause I'm only a crack in this castle of glass
When darkness settled across the jungle, the cross fox would wander. He spent most of his days in the open, casually reading a book or holding conversations with the passing NPCs. All of it an act, instilling his presence as commonplace in the background and encouraging trust. When it came time for everyone to rest, Embry took his walks through the trees. In quiet places, he sat and there he reached his daughter, Keona, through their bond. He had a mind to do that tonight, had he not noticed a flash of red through the undergrowth. He blinked, realizing quickly the splash of color belonged to Gael. Don't blow... He moves without thought, trotting after the other fox. His cousin reminds him incredibly of Raziel in those moments in which quiet prevailed. He snorts quietly at the thought, then bit back a sigh in irritation for the sound. You don't trust Gael. He doesn't trust you. It's always been that way. But that had always made their relationship entertaining. "An bhfuil tú ag iarraidh breathnú cosúil le Raziel?" He inquires, losing his Scottish accent in favor of his natural Irish. Looking almost bored, he raises his brow, hiding a wry smirk. Goldie is going to kill me if he blows my cover. Well. Not if Keona does not first. "Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú col ceathrar? Ní cuimhin liom an uair dheireanach a chonaic mé tú." Not entirely true. He remembered, sitting on a dock before another voyage, discussing their thoughts on Raziel at the time. There was much he wanted to know about Gael in the present. Much of it he doubted he could weasel out of the other Fae, but it was worth the conversation. Besides, they were family; no harm in 'catching up', regardless of ulterior motives. The fox's eyes snapped from the sky to 'Embry', narrowing in thought as the Irish accent and Gaelic words floated in the air. An almost surprised snort left the vulpine. The light colored fox in front of him was none other than Séamus Ó Faoláin. Tricky cousin of mine. What, he wondered as he regarded the other Fae, made Séamus go by 'Embry'? "Cén fáth an dallamullóg?" Gael spoke straight to the point, ear flicking. No use in idle chat; he wanted to know what game the other was playing. There was always something with Séamus. "An bhfuil tú i dtrioblóid?" A good reason to pretend to be someone else. Was it the sort of reason his cousin would find? "An bhfuil rud éigin á phleanáil agat? An namhaid thú?" Yes that makes sense. Gael chuckled wryly, shaking his head. "Fuaimeanna cosúil leatsa." The Pitt had enemies, or so he had heard. Things had been quiet thus far. Honestly, the cross fox cared little regardless. He did have Aine to keep safe though. "Ar chóir dom a bheith buartha?" What an interesting predicament to possess this information. Yet making an enemy of his cousin bore ill -- the mischievous prince certainly had an advantage of information; he had been in these lands longer. Worse, he had been among the Pitt longer. I need to know what he's after. Séamus grinned. With a huff, he sat down, reminding himself Gael was a very no-nonsense Fae. That did not make him any less entertaining, but it did mean his tactics had to change. Idly, he played with his claws, making a point of remaining quiet and thoughtful as his cousin made his inquries. Not any less smarter than Raz too. "Is bradach mé fós," he pointed out humorously. A little vague sounding, but he knew to tread with care in this situation. Gael did have the right of it after all -- he was a spy. "Leanaim mo chaptaen." The pirate flicked an ear, leaning back suddenly. A dark gleam flashed in his eyes. Should he worry? He flashed Gael a sly grin. "Gan má fhanann tú as mo bhealach." A threat plain as daylight. If Séamus was truthful, he'd admit that he didn't really want a fight with his cousin. Gael had been the one in their family who understood him best -- Gael saw things in a similar light; understood Raziel's pacifism could only get the Fae so far. Understood sometimes it took a little blood to settle matters. "Ní fheicim aon chúis le feud teaghlaigh." But that won't stop me if you make it neccessary. [align=right]hardly anything left for you to see — EMBRY Re: YOU'RE A NATURAL | embry - gael - 05-30-2019 Gael snorted. An only semi-humorous sound. He regarded the other vulpine thoughtfully, albeit with an almost absent flair to his measuring gaze. He hardly wanted his cousin to believe he had the upper hand in any mind games. Still a pirate. Yes. The faerie never expected that to change. "Agus do dheartháir?" While Kian had gone down that route for different reasons, Gael imagined he still remained the same; once a pirate, always a pirate. If that's the case, no surprises from the twins. However, the male had to blink in bemusement at least once. "Do chaptaen?" That could not be right. "Leanann tú duine eile anois?" Honestly, he found that hard to believe. The vulpine shifted his weight, a frown marking his maw. Suspicion clouded his mind, concerned more was at play than he had assumed. Now he possessed some intriguing facts. Useless, he supposed, to anyone else among his newfound clan. Gael did not know anyone in the region to care about any strange behavior among the Ó Faoláin family. The only blood connections the royal family had outside of their direct line were the Ó Broins, as far as he was aware. "Ní bheidh mé ag cur bac ortsa," he clicked, seemingly returning his semi-amused state. "Ach ní bheidh aon leisce orm, col ceathrar ... Má tá mo iníon i mbaol..." a storm flashed in his eyes, promising only pain and destruction. If his cousin and his friends wanted battle... He'd give them a war. "Ar ndóigh, ní fheicim aon chúis le feud teaghlaigh ach oiread. Déanann tú cara níos fearr ansin namhaid." To this end, he quirked a brow, curious. Gael knew possessing a friend in the shadow prince meant an advantage against the other members of the royal family. At least in having someone in with the enemy. But he also knew it'd have to sound like Séamus' idea, or, his, so long as it sounded mutually beneficial. He must have beef with the Pitt for some reason, and I doubt it has to do with Raziel or Kian. He wouldn't obey someone else's orders otherwise. Much less to spy. He admitted his cousin knew how to play a part, but he was terribly self-interested. He needed a valid reason to act. Unless he's decided to turn a new leaf for some reason... I doubt it.
