honey what's your hurry - p, moomin - fae . - 05-08-2019 The sun was painting the sky and earth in oranges and blues, pouring such beautiful colors over her own pelt, and over the river she was standing next to, hunting the bank for clays. Her one escape from the hellish young life she endured was learning how to make little clay figurines. Until now, though, she never put it into practice outside of reading it from books.
Wow, this was scarier than she thought it would be - it was so far across to the other side, and she never learned how to swim. If she slipped on the riverbank, well, how would she get out? Sometimes you just didn't know. That prospect, of not knowing, terrified her. Maybe she should do this some other time, maybe now wasn't the best... then again, she didn't have much else to do, so if she was super duper careful she should be fine, right? Right. Dutifully the young femme began poking at the slightly wet ground. Supposedly, she was supposed to be able to tell clay from dirt - that was the only thing she had to go off of, that it was some sort of anomalous other texture. Hopefully she found some soon, though. Even if the river wasn't rapid or anything, it was still making her anxious, hearing the soft motion of it behind her, threatening to pull her under at any second. Truly frightening. "speech"

Moomin comes to a halt and tilts his head -- pink. That was ... that one person, right? He didn't know her name, but she was here. Ever-curious, Moomin picks up pace. "What're you looking for?" Moomin asks upon coming close enough to speak. He's grinning down at the anxious feline, eyes sparkling. Snufkin had taught him a lot of tips and tricks about how to find stuff out here! It was just a part of the territory -- they'd gone on an awful lot of adventures, after all. He just hopes its something he can actually help with, though. elysium - polar bear - 2 years Re: honey what's your hurry - p, moomin - fae . - 05-08-2019 "Ahh! Oh, jeez, you scared me!" The cat yowled, jumping back a solid inch, soaking her hind legs in river water. Easily spooked as she was, she should've expected someone to approach her - while the territory was pretty big, it was still a small world, and people seemed to attract each other. The femme looked up at what was to her a large white dog, admittedly very, very large, bigger even than those humans she heard about. He was big enough for her to ride around, and he looked like he wouldn't even be bothered by the weight! "Sorry, um, I'm easily startled. I mean I'm Fae - my name isn't easily startled, that's just an explanation for - um." Her teeth dug into her tongue, looking up at the big dog with fear, and being comforted when she was met with an almost childlike gaze in return. She didn't have to stumble around her words, this was a nice person - he had kind eyes, and everyone else she had met here had kind eyes, and they were great, so he was great too. Flawless logic aside, she was still left with an introduction to make, and a person to meet.
"I'm Fae! What's your name, Mr. Big Dog? Oh, and while I'm at it, what kind of dog are you?" A curious child at heart, as soon as she was met with new things and she was comfortable enough, she was off like a horse in the races. At least, her mouth was. Oh, she was being rude again, how could she - he had asked her a questions. "Oh, um, I'm trying to find clay. I've always wanted to try pottery, and I've heard it's easiest to find clay by riverbanks, so here I am!" tags - "speech"
Re: honey what's your hurry - p, moomin - arcy - 05-08-2019 ✿ trying to hold the wind "It's ok! It's nice to meet you, Fae!" Moomin chirps. Hopefully he remembered it -- he had seen her around often enough, so it'd be a shame if he forgot. The bear puts on his best reassuring grin. He knew a lot of easily spooked people, and people who weren't that good at conversation. He hadn't quite perfected the art, though, and generally just ended up having to wait it out. Moomin didn't mind! Sometimes he talked a lot, too, and there was nothing wrong with that. "Um, I'm Moomin! I'm actually a bear. Have you not seen one before?" He tilts his head. Nobody here seemed very familiar with them. Moomin found it very curious, but he wasn't very familiar with cats, either, so he doesn't hold it against them. His tail wags as she continues. "That sounds really cool!" He chirps, regarding the soil curiously. He'd gone looking for it clay, actually! He hadn't had any reason to use it for himself, but Moomin liked doing favors for people. "I'll help you!" He announces, stamping his paw very gently against the ground, ears pricking. He trots closer to the riverbank, tail wagging. "I've only tried to find it once before, but two is better than one!" He tells her, smiling very widely. Besides, he'd feel bad if he left her to find it alone! elysium - polar bear - 2 years |
