INSIDE THOSE WOODS && joining - beatae - 04-10-2019

LIGHTS GO OUT AND ALL I SEE—
the approach of a new season was detectable by melt of frost in the morning and the quickly rising sun, ever so slow to come back down. the direwolf was hesitant at first going up the mountain, but she assured herself as long as she was held onto her belongings and successfully found somewhere to burrow, that she would be find. she had heard of the elysium through word of mouth and was curious of the sort of people they were. a mixed culture of two colonies together. not out of conquership, but allegiance. a very strange story she would love to hear about.

lilja continued her way up the mountainside until reaching the point of a strange, strong scent. she assumed this was a barrier point or warning for her not to cross. she didn't find anywhere safe to rest before, perhaps this led to the path of elysites that harbored the mountain.

well, time for patience. lilja sat down on the grass, breathing life once more in the incoming of spring. she rifled through her satchel and took out a book, flipping it to where she had last left off and continued to read.

Re: INSIDE THOSE WOODS && joining - Straw - 04-10-2019

  [font=trebuchet ms]The arrival of spring dyed the land a vivid green. Watching the plants in the greenhouse grow signaled to Straw that things were going to be okay again, soon enough. Life always bounced back. Though she could barely talk to any one of Elysium's members, she was grateful that the group was getting back on its feet.

  The mountain air, and the rocks beneath her feet, soothed her in a way little else could. Walking along the trail, she couldn't help but stare at the cliffs, internally mapping out the quickest route to the top. Climbing trees, scaling rock faces... they were more similar than one might think.

  Detecting the smell of an unknown canine, though, Straw glanced down the trail, her eyes fixing on the direwolf. She was almost certainly not a would-be attacker; reading a book, willingly putting your attention to something else, was not the sort of thing you did if you were going to ambush someone. Approaching wordlessly, the red panda tilted her head. Lifting a paw to adjust her mask, she waited for the newcomer to finish reading and look up.

[div style="width: 527px; line-height: 1.4; text-align: justify; font-family: constantia; font-size: 11px;"]Tena Moonspinner
Although the vivid green of spring had graced Tena's sharp blue eyes once before, they still invoked such a powerful wonder in them it could almost be assumed the season had arrived for the first time.  As a child the Demdji walked beneath a blazing sun.  Sand.  Dry air.  Beneath the moon, everything grew cold.  A world of no compromise.

Soft paws drifted lightly over the growing grass, ever conscious of the life erupting around her.  Savoring the color.  The breath.  Hues the bright shade of the sky danced, bouncing as they settled on one familiar and one not so.  The breath of life outside plants.  But still quiet.  Deafening.

Brows creased lightly downwards, furrowed in perhaps ire or wariness.  This massive canine only sat reading, and Straw waiting. Polite.  Well.  "Hey," Tena's voice, despite am unusually level of quietness invoked by her company, sliced through the air like a knife.  Clear.  "Can we help you?" Afterall, wasn't it a little odd to be reading on a border? One ought to expect interruptions from the occupants.

LIGHTS GO OUT AND ALL I SEE—
lilja had completed the next chapter before the silent red panda ambled on her way. she scented the girl first, glancing up to see her patiently awaiting lil's attention. she packed away her book and cleared her throat, giving a sweet smile. "hello, dear." she greeted warmly, looking onward to see tena come next. she nodded her head to the other.

"hello. i am lilja, i am just looking for some shelter. i come under the assumption that this is the elysium? i have heard much about you." the direwolf's tail gave a happy wag as she began to stand, looking between the two.

  [font=trebuchet ms]The sudden sound of Tena's voice, even if it was relatively soft, elicited a jolt from Straw. Once she realized that it was just her clanmate, however, she relaxed. Turning to glance at Tena, she dipped her head in greeting.

  As the newcomer spoke, Straw looked back at her and listened closely. Lilja was nothing like any name she'd heard before, but it was a nice name, suitable for the direwolf. She wanted shelter, similarly to Straw initially coming just for food and a place to stay- but she had actually heard of Elysium before, unlike Straw.

  Either way, shelter was no problem; this person seemed nice. "It is," she answered softly, with a nod. "You can stay." If Lilja wanted to go directly to camp, they could lead her there. If she wanted a tour, Tena would do most of the talking, but Straw supposed she could come along as well.
