It was only a matter of time before this would have to happen. The pirate captain had moved within the territory silently, cold, glowing eyes watching carefully over her surroundings. She would rather keep this meeting's public knowledge to a minimum - not even any of her own crewmates may know of it. As far as they knew, she had no suspicions towards the Pitt's word. She would not give away her plans just yet; it was too early. She needs to be positive of the situation, and this was all according to plan. The Roux's - the pirate ones, anyway - seemed to simply have this calculative nature within them all. Maybe it was genetic. Either way, it was an important trait to have in this situation. The tiger took her position with fierce seriousness; she'd never distanced herself from emotions this far before. It was essential, every second. Every step oozed strategy, like a masterfully prepared dish. To be frank, she knew very little about the male that took over Tanglewood now, and she silently wonders what is happening within the lands these days. She has wanted to ally the muddy minds for a while, for a few reasons. They were the only group of folks that have never once pissed her off - which is impressive, considering she has existed nearly as long as it has. Something more personal, too; an old friendship with an old ghost. Perhaps that is why she has decided to bring a small basket of goods - some tropical fruits, such as pineapple and starfruit, and two gold doubloons. Maybe it was simply to help persuade him, or at the very least, thank him, for his potential knowledge. The tiger sat by herself in a secluded part of the marsh, hidden behind foliage, waiting silently for the male to arrive. Hopefully no one would catch her scent before he did. It was time that the two Roux's may finally meet. [member=1477]Crow Roux[/member] Re: EACH CHARTED COURSE / crow - Crow Roux - 04-07-2019 [div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 1.4;"] Crow's whereabouts were kept under wraps so tight that even his own children did not know where he was headed. In all frankness, the feline was unsure himself of what he was to expect. He was told a location, and inside his head was the notion that he had something important to discuss with the leader of the Typhoon. As he plodded about, his sinewy paws kicked up pebbles in their wake, an act of apathy—politics bored him, but it was part of the description of the job that was abruptly shoved upon him a month prior. Fat chance. The feline found it difficult to trust anyone as of late, more so than before, when he was fresh in the world with not a single scar nestled atop his skin and within his brain. Shit happened, people walked away, and he was stabbed in the back so much he was messed up for worse, never to recover. Time turned Crow's fears into a nagging flea in his pelt, small at first but an troublesome itch the more it was allowed to fester. Alas his thoughts were cleaved, a familiar face coming into view, and the feline used every ounce in him to keep his hackles from raising in discomfort from the encounter. Crow halted, gaze landing on the offerings placed on the ground, and his anxiety became dulled, a sure sign nothing bad was to happen. "So, u-uh," he stuttered, shifting his weight, "w-what's goin' on?" What a pathetic excuse for an ambassador he was. She very dully noted the stutter, not really thinking too much on it. She had one herself in the past for a long time. It'd be hypocritical of her to judge him for it. Though, she did acknowledge the seeming discomfort in her head, planning to hopefully ease that. Her own anxieties took the forms of colors and sounds, reds and blacks once following her at all times with a constant static nagging in her mind. But, they have been gone for a while. She burned them down herself. Now a blue seems to creep up on her every now and then, but it was easy to ignore against the golden hues of the future. This encounter, for example, was brilliantly shining onto her. The blue was irrelevant against it. The female let him settle before quietly breathing in to get to business. "I'll be honest with ya," she begins with, her slit pupils locked onto him. Her sharp voice is casual and relaxed. "Tanglewood is the only place that's never once pissed me off - which is sayin' somethin'. I am puttin' a lil' bit o' faith in ya with this meetin', Crow." Was it a bad move to reveal this information to someone she hardly knew? Maybe, but there was reason behind it. If anything, it just foreshadowed her future intentions with Tanglewood, if this went well. She was not so sure that the deal between the Pitt and the Typhoon was made public outside of the two groups, but she did not intend to bring it up unless she had to. It's not like this meeting was breaking the deal - it's already been settled. Now, Tanglewood didn't necessarily owe them anything, and the captain understood that entirely. But, she was willing to give it a shot. If he was hesitant, then Goldie would offer a deal of sorts - maybe. "To get t' the point, I know y'all jus' recently raided the Pitt. So, I'd like t' ask for some information on 'em. Anythin' at all." More specifically, she wanted to know if they'd upheld their side in removing slaves, but she wouldn't demand that from him. She wanted to keep this vague for now. If Jervis thought she was suspicious of his actions, that would ruin her plans. "I understand it might be a weird request, but I'd really appreciate any honest answer you've got t' give." She couldn't imagine him keeping too many secrets about them - it just didn't seem beneficial when she looked at it. The Typhoon and Tanglewood - and all of the groups, really - had a common enemy, even if Jervis might not realize it yet. This could just potentially communicate to Crow that he had more forces to work with. After all, the pirates had never been ones to fuck with. The female was thinking through her words and potential consequences carefully here. She's been playing this game since she was a child. If he didn't want to answer, then she would simply have to get over it. The female would find out one way or another. Re: EACH CHARTED COURSE / crow - Crow Roux - 04-13-2019 [div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 1.4;"] "O-oh. That, that means a lot, re-eally..." A smirk couldn't help but form across the feline's lips, his composure visibly relaxing, then he took a few more steps forward and took one last glance behind him at the dense flora devoid of prying ears. He hoped, anyway. Paranoia crawled in his skin like flies on a corpse, itching and buzzing until it drove him to madness. Crow found it hard to approach others, even harder to trust, but a sense of calmness came to him from the aura of Goldie as she began to speak, caused his fur to settle. So she was not here to cause harm, but rather to talk about their assumed common enemy: the Pitt. His eyebrows furrowed at their mention, and he thought long and hard, pupils darting about as he tried to recall something she might want. "It's not weird. I, uh," he said, swallowing. "They took Kiira, a-an' the whole crime scene stinks of Jervis. But I kicked his ass real bad... H-he must be feeling better. I d-don't know..." The thing was, he didn't know what she wanted to know. He could have gone on a whole spiel of the miscellaneous things that he had come across, but to accomplish what? To annoy her—at least that's what the nagging voice at the back of his skull was telling him. Oh how he wanted it to shut up. At the announcement of Kiira being captured, her expression immediately hardens, as if a shield is suddenly placed around her. Her mouth opens before she can process the action. "D' you think they've made h-" she cuts herself off, words coming out too quickly that she must stop herself in the middle of stating them. She cannot be irresponsible here. She may trust Crow, but that doesn't mean emotions should be displayed so clearly now. She cannot be foolish. "I mean...do ya know, if they still have slaves?" Her words are now slower, more careful. There is a toxicity laced within them, too - not directed at Crow, but more so at the idea itself. She'd known Jervis, from the moment she laid eyes on him, was an untrustworthy bastard, but she still had her reasons for making the deal. Her only regret is hearing Kiira's capture. Everything else, however, would simply keep going according to plan. She has to think about how quickly she wants to strike back now. And, should she tell Raziel? He would deserve to know, but this may mess with her future actions. Should she try to make plans with Crow right now? The female thinks over it for a few moments to herself, silently. Her next actions are crucial. There would be a silence between the two, her expression thoughtful. Perhaps he may call it awkward, though she wouldn't. Silence is never really awkward to her. "Jervis does not expect that the Typhoon will attack. He thinks we trust him." The words remain careful and calculated. Goldenluxury is not going to give away the specifications just yet, but she believes it would be a good idea to tell Crow this. If she plans to strategize with him, she may as well give away at least some of her advantages currently. "We have the element of surprise. I don' wanna lose that yet. Every chance I get, I plan for anythin' an' everythin'. I've multiple plans of burning the place down that I made last winter, for example. It's jus' a matter of...findin' the right time, which may very well be soon." She explains further, words now calmer like before, an almost sinister sense within them. The male may take that as he wishes, but this is what she'll offer to him for now. She will simply wait for her spy's confirmation, and anything else he would have to offer information-wise. That's when she'll make her decision on what to do next. Re: EACH CHARTED COURSE / crow - Jervis - 04-25-2019 Re: EACH CHARTED COURSE / crow - Crow Roux - 05-05-2019 [div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 1.4;"] His nose crinkled, paws shuffled the damp ground as he recalled the raid. The screaming, the scrambling... As much as Crow hated to admit it to himself, the turmoil brought a smile to his face. He would cause all hell again in a heartbeat just to see the panicked looks on their faces as he slashed their leader off his high horse. "I- yeah. I t-think they had slaves," he said finally, glancing around once more behind him almost impulsively. "Crummy, sad lookin' fellas when I attacked, gettin' shoved outta sight like no one's business." What was it about slaves anyway? He thought slaves were just a thing the Pitt had and always would have, nothing special to look out for. "But... I think I can help ya. We both hate the Pitt here. Jus' tell me what I need to do, and I got your back. I-I trust ya, I think." Re: EACH CHARTED COURSE / crow - bubblegum - 05-09-2019 I HEARD, I HEARD ACROSS A MOONLIT SEA

Goldenluxury was disappointed, but not surprised by his answer. It was the main reason she showed up here, after all - doubt. She was prepared to head into war against the bastards at any and every point in time. This very well could be that time, especially given Crow's gracious offer. She takes a moment to consider her own ideas before offering a direct response to the male. She ultimately decides on the most equally practical and fun one. It was a very safe move to begin what will likely be a war. A short war, probably, but still one nonetheless. "Well," she says quietly at first, breathing, "there is one plan, that I think may be quite...interestin', for both o' us." Her previously thoughtful look now turns into a mischievous smirk. Her cold eyes glint with focus, and to her, now, the game began. She considers her own words for a moment, despite knowing exactly what she is going to be saying. Perhaps a reminder of the trust would be appropriate, though not in a fashion that sounds like she is distrusting, simply a cautious one. "Now, this ain't t' be shared wit' the world. Not 'till it's happened." The captain urges, her words stern but actual tone quite light. She is not so worried Crow would babble this to everyone. Surely he must understand strategy to at least a similar level of herself. Now that she's prepared him, the female nods to herself, a certainty around her. "I can offer a peace offerin', of sorts, t' the Pittians. Give 'em some "gifts" n' distract 'em while somebody sneaks in. Could be you, could be one o' m' crewmates, another swamp bud, or even m' eagle, Lynn." Her words fall out slowly and carefully, her voice now quieter to avoid any listening ears to hear. This was something she did not want to share with anyone except the individuals she had to explain it to - not yet. Everything must be meticulous. Should she inform him of her spy there? No, not yet. Soon, if he proved to be trustworthy, which she had faith he was. "I know the territory well, from personal experience." Very personal. There is a clear bitterness still laced within her tone. "I imagine that can come in handy, for both of us." |
