THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - idyllfields - 03-28-2019 idyllfields stars did fall idyllfields never liked ships. never liked the ocean. lakes. boats. rivers... puddles. the coyote couldn't stand being on anything that rocked with waves or collapsed with the sea. it was the only way to where ye ol' jamison could be reached, unfortunately. their father was out in the greek islands of crete giving his lectures to his doting students. he wouldn't be home again for a while. he needed to know what happened at home, especially since his letter never seemed to arrive. perhaps he refused to open them. always a strange one when it came to ways of communication. idyllfields had been clinging to the posts of their bed while the ship swayed and groaned. they hadn't stopped shaking since boarding. their body tense all around and ears pinned against their head. several maids had tried tending to their anxiety with chamomile remedies and other holistic practices. they refused each one. no way they would be asleep when this overloaded beast crashed with the waves. they ate little, slept barely, and kept to their post until it was time to unload their belongings and get the hell off the beast. to their relief (and honest surprise) the ship had landed without any loss or demise. they survived. idyll wasted no time taking their bag and darting off the ramp to the land below. they looked around after realizing no one else had left the ship with them, their ears perked in confusion. perhaps they were all going elsewhere along the greek islands. with a small shrug, the coyote turned and approached the railroad gates that seemed to introduce the island, their bag clenched tight in their jaws. they wondered how their father was doing. they hadn't seen him in so long. it would be tough trying to stay with him, but they were willing to make the effort at least. maybe they could just blend in with the other students until the moment arose to bear the bad news. paying little attention to the carvings and emblems in the slate, idyllfields continued on, looking for any other signs of life or civilization to guide them. Stranger's scent in the air. Stark against the salt and water. Small paws crept through the undergrowth of the jungle, cloudy sea-green hues dancing in the shadows. Caution. Most stopped at the gates. The exception belonged to those like herself, arriving by sea on the shores of Barracuda Bay. The ocean clung to this one too, as if they'd been over the waters."Hey," the privateer called, sharp with mixed accent, brows creased. Keona made her approach slow, a long tail twitching behind her. This stranger certainly cared none for borders or warnings. "Can I help you?" The tiny feline tilted her head upwards, nose and ears urging towards the proper height. Re: THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - raziel - 03-28-2019 [div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: constantia; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Raziel felt a proper respect for the ocean. Not necessarily a fondness for water but an acknowledgment of its marvels, beauties, and dangers. He still remembered crashing onto the shores of the bay; a far less intentional arrival than that of his brothers and Keona before him.
The dire wolf regarded said niece with quite some amusement as she slinked through the darkness until he wondered whom she inherited such a sneaky tendency from. His younger brothers had always had their differences... With each other and him. He held back a sigh, supposing it may not be Seamus' doing at all. She's learned to be cautious early. Raziel trotted towards the newcomer in the open, offering a small smile. The larger Fae stood beside Keona, relaxed but watchful. He supposed he'd wait for an answer to his niece's question before offering his own words, ears perked and sea-green eyes warm. "idyllfields. i am on a journey, looking for a man that goes by father jamison, or ye ol' jamison. does he abide here?" their honeyed eyes looked between the two with an expectant gaze, assuming they knew the man's whereabouts. their father was not one to be subtle whatsoever; and if not on this island, then they would simply wait for the next ship on their way to the next. "these are the islands of crete, yes?" idyll asked, just to clarify their own thoughts. Re: THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - bubblegum - 03-30-2019 I HEARD, I HEARD ACROSS A MOONLIT SEA

[align=center]It is unusual for a foreigner to arrive by ship these days, but certainly not unheard of in the past. She was quite interested to spot this figure making their way onto the island this method. Riding the ocean, whether it be by swimming or boating, was something she always admired, both as a sort of kin to the ocean, and simply as a pirate. Goldenluxury brought herself over at the scent of a stranger, and then Keona's voice, only managing her way fully there once the stranger - Idyllfields - finishes speaking. She had been moving along the island, setting out certain plans in her head - mostly involving upcoming events, and was trying to picture them where they'd happen to get a better idea of what to do exactly. The feathered tiger positions herself a bit in front of her crewmates, her head held high as she stands in front of them. She does not recognize the name Idyllfields mentions right away, though she tries to quickly think for a moment before confirming she'd never heard of it. "Ye ol' Jamison? Never heard of 'im," the female would respond sharply, her accented voice holding itself firmly. She places a casual, slight smile upon her features, her cold blue and green eyes looking over the stranger. "You've found yourself 'pon Paradis Island, home of the Typhoon." Her stance is relaxed as she responds, words calm. She wonders if perhaps this "father Jamison" was their actual father. If this was the case, she would hope that they would find him quickly and easily. Her own papa...he was just missing, but she was certain he would return. There would be no chance for him to be gone forever. She'd not like the idea of someone losing family, for they were the most important thing in life. She considers his words, taking note of the islands of Crete. It sounds...vaguely familiar. Perhaps she'd seen it on her old maps before, or maybe it's something else. Nonetheless, she would not speak anything of it for now. She'd no place to offer directions to a place she hardly, if at all, recognized. Re: THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - idyllfields - 03-30-2019 idyllfields stars did fall the presence of the tiger arriving was something... divine. her approach and appearance had idyllfields jaw drop slightly, shutting it again moments after and straightening themselves out. the aura from goldenluxury's ubiety sent their heart skipping. fear? astonishment? perhaps a mixture of both. idyll wasn't so sure how to greet her. they didn't seem like the people to regard royalty, though they felt the urge to bow to show respect to her. such creatures were not native to the netherlands. it was a wonder to see one in person, so close. they almost missed her reply in their awestruck state, and cleared their throat to respond. "oh--" this wasn't even crete? for a moment the coyote lost their posture. bewilderedly looking over their shoulder before back to the three islanders. "i suppose one cannot guarantee their journey when they know nothing of the sea." they were frustrated, no doubt. though it was to be expected. they knew something would have to go wrong. if not drowning in the confines of a bunker, then ending up in the wrong country might as well occur. "i apologize- greatly- for having ah, imposed here. i was assured this would lead me to...?" there was still a sense of shock in their voice, wavering slightly before continuing. "may i rest here, until i can contact another ship? i need to rest before going to sea again." the first trip had already taken so much out of them. they couldn't withstand another so soon, if a ship would even appear again after this. they shifted the ceramic mask over their eyes slightly to ease an itch along the bridge of their nose, then turned back to goldenluxury, keona, and raziel. Scent of books and dust and almost like petrichor. Uncle. The feline's tail tip twitched, head inclining softly in Raziel's direction. Today's shadow. A kindly, quiet shadow that towered well over most. Then the sea, already answering questions. Goldie. Keona's tiny shoulders rolled back, loose, absent. An only slight atypical occurrence then. An arrival by sea searching for... Family, she assumes, but the very uncle behind her had explained once that 'Father' was also a title.Ye ol' Jamison. Not a single bell tolled for the name spoken. The privateer hummed softly, head swiveling back towards Idyllfields. Did Uncail wait for another ship to take him back to his children? It seemed to her he'd accepted a place here, though, of course one of her cousins had arrived by sea herself to join him unintentionally, crashed and confused and lost from a voyage she'd not asked to be placed on. Things could be worse for this unfortunate traveler then, she supposed. As such, she threw a cautionary glance at Goldie before speaking. "You're welcome to stay, long as ya want." Do ships come here often? Keona had been born on the sea, started her life surrounded by her father's crew, but she knew little of common ports. Nothing of Crete. But she'd been so young then, perhaps she just didn't remember. She came to the Typhoon so early on. Oh well. [align=center]The apparent...bewilderment would set her off slightly, though not in an outward fashion. Goldenluxury has learned well from the always strategic captain that was her papa, as well as experience...her guard wasn't to be let down unless she let it be. Every movement came with reason. Instead, she would remain in her casual expression, waiting quietly for them as they recovered and responded. Their confession of lacking knowledge of the sea, and then the implied directions they were given, would cause her head to rotate to the side ever so slightly. Did they not put in any research before setting out? She just found that to be irresponsible, personally. Nonetheless, she was more than happy to help them find their destination. Lucky for them, they managed to stumble upon the almost literal daughter of the sea. However, she wasn't so hesitant to voice her opinion on their steps that lead them here. "Perhaps next time ya ought t' get yourself a map, eh?" it was technically a scold, but it was in a light-hearted manner. You live and learn, in most situations, and it wasn't like this coyote was posing any major problems being here, contrary to what former crewmates may have thought about any and every outsider. Keona, however, beat her to the response at their inquiry. She wonders if they perhaps had a long journey. Goldie enjoyed being out in the ocean any chance she received, but understood that longer voyages did take more energy, especially if by themself. She would nod to the small feline's words, confirming in her own swift action. "Tha' wouldn' be a problem. There's plenty o' huts t' stay in, or you may rest in the tavern, over there-" she'd gesture towards the Capricorn Tavern before continuing, "-that is, of course, assumin' ya won' bring any trouble t' m' crew." The tiger gave a warning gaze, displaying her first hint of threat with her striking, cold eyes. However, it would pass quickly assuming they assured they meant no harm. "M' name is Goldenluxury Roux. Goldie for short. I'd be fine with lookin' through my own maps t' help." Re: THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - idyllfields - 04-03-2019 idyllfields stars did fall a pure blessing they had come upon hospitable folk. they pondered if they would be turned away in that moment, but hearing keona's soft acceptance gave them hope. it wouldn't take long for them to get comfortable and figure out how to signal another ship. they were quite resourceful, just needed to work on educating themselves about the ocean again. perhaps actually paying attention and not being in such a hurry to get off would be a good start next time. the coyote's ears perked up at goldenluxury's voice before quickly pinned down again sheepishly. they could make out the light scold in her voice. oh how embarrassing. they thought, holding their breath as she continued. not even the first hour and I've mucked something up. they were sure to pay attention to her directions of course. the tavern: that's where they went for food. they lived in huts? well, they would adjust. make themselves cozy as they could. at the mention of causing trouble, they shook their head calmly. "no, dear. i'm far too frightened to attempt." they responded with a soft smile. their gaze returned back to keona and raziel, realizing they had not gotten their names yet. "it is wonderful to meet you two, as well. thank you for the trouble of helping me." Re: THEY RUINED HER NAME && joining! - Luciferr - 04-11-2019 [table][tr][td]
