I HEARD, I HEARD ACROSS A MOONLIT SEA

ϟ the clash between the eye and the raging storms. ϟ the healing warmth of the sun and the raw brutality of the seas. ϟ the self-fulfilling prophecy and the stolen future. ϟ

Sometimes, the work had to stop, for just a little while. Sometimes there needed to be some sort of break. The tiger's paws delicately slid over her belongings within the submarine, humming near silently to herself. One of the two pastimes she would allow herself to spend in between rests was this one - searching through her things, looking over these memories that'd returned to her in full. Hindsight is surely a silly context, unproductive in its time, but at the very least it lets one live and learn, and that's the most important part of these memories. Holding onto something that's long gone was sometimes a very comforting thing to do and today, she finds herself looking in particular over the items one of her younger brothers had left her before he'd gone, wherever it was he did go. She would like to believe he is still alive. Sometimes she'd wish she'd gone out to look for him, but in the end it was his choice to leave all he knew behind. It would be wrong of her to take that away. He's still not returned, and she holds no expectations for him to ever do so, but that sage saved her life more times than she could count, and he cared for her more than she could have ever asked. This little instrument she is moving her paw against, it was originally a gift for little Silus. An ocarina, in the shape of a whale shark. The female looks at it for a few moments, perhaps considering something, before picking it up and taking it outside, Lynn resting on her shoulder.

As she stepped onto the docks, she fiddled with the object for a few moments. She'd still had yet to fully learn the thing - there'd not been time she'd given herself to. There was no time at all to really think on personal matters. As far as she knew, she was happy and proud of her crewmates, and it would not go further than that. The female is doing what she needs as captain and everything else is irrelevant. These times where she took out memories would be as close as she would get to any reflective thoughts on herself. The tiger pulls the instrument close to her face, blowing into it a few times, quietly, to warm up, moving through the territory with light steps. She then began to slowly but surely work through different notes, seeming to form a song of sorts, though it did not seem to sound completely there yet. There was still practice to be done.
