A few months ago, August would have not considered this a good idea. A smart idea.

Stepping foot onto a frozen-yet-unreliable surface of a pond? Most knew that doing so was not the brightest idea. However, as they say — curiosity killed the cat... or the wolf, in this case. But could you really blame the boy? He had never seen a body of water frozen over before, and it was intriguing to him. Winter came along with plenty of surprises in store, it seemed. First snow, then ice, and now water in a solid state?

August had not meant to stumble upon the pond; it seemed that his adventures in the new territory brought him to a lot of new places. The black button of a nose was brought down to the smooth surface, and he gave a few sniffs ( for what reason, he was not sure ).

After mustering up the guts to step onto the ice slowly and gently, he shuffled his way several feet out onto the pond. August's azure hues brightened with glee at the experience, and a small grin stretched onto his maw. He even propelled himself forward and slid for a few lengths, and he felt a feeling of excitement surge within him. Was this safe? Probably not, but right now, Aug was having way too much fun.

[div style="max-width: 450px; text-align: justify; color: #111111; font-family: arial;"]Solarpup recognized the wolf that slid across the ice from their meeting at the border, and he was tempted to stay away for fear of more questions being thrown his way, but decided to come forward anyway to see what was going on, to see what he was doing. After all, despite his slight worry, Sol was still a child, and therefore was curious at his core. Padding forward towards the frozen over water, the wolfdog pup would put his nose towards the ground to give it a sniff before putting a foot on it, noticing the same thing that August had - it was slippery.

But unlike August, Solarpup did not want to step forward to slide, he'd much rather stay on the snow and be safe, make sure he didn't break anything. "Why are you doing this?" he would call out, brows furrowing for a moment before asking a different question."Wait. What are you doing?"

Re: * here i am / open - PHOENIX - 02-21-2019

[div style="borderwidth=0px; width: 55%; text-align: justify;"] Good ideas rarely came to Phoenix. Many ideas sprang to her mind at many different times, of course, but calling them good would be a stretch of the imagination in itself. Following August without hesitation was just another example of a lack of caution, sprinting through the snow berm past Solarpup to land on the frozen pond with a precision she didn't know she would be able to execute. Blunt claws scraped worthlessly against the ice as her legs stiffened and braced outward, skidding across the ice and nearly crossing the pond by the time she naturally came to a stop. It was rather ridiculous, a lich who imbued her soul with the raw energy of fire to enjoy ice so much. Her russet head snapped to gaze over her shoulder at Solarpup and August, wearing a large smile as she clumsily attempted to stabilize herself and straighten her legs.

"Whaddya mean "why are you doing this?"? It's f-u-n kiddo, give it a try - ice ain't gonna bite ya."

[div style="max-width: 450px; text-align: justify; color: #111111; font-family: arial;"]Sol couldn't help but jump slightly when the older female decided to glide right past him on the ice, and his ears would instinctively go back once more. "I dunno..." He would say, shaking his head a little as he put one paw upon the ice, feeling the cold on his pads, "It's really cold, makes my toes tingle a bit." He really did not like cold things, and was not about to go on top of one for "fun".

Re: * here i am / open - Tena M. - 02-21-2019

[div style="width: 527px; line-height: 1.4; text-align: justify; font-family: constantia; font-size: 11px;"]Tena Moonspinner
The petite sand cat felt inclined to agree with Solarpup.  Not, however, for the same reasons.  After all her thick fur protected her from the worst of the ice's nipping cold; precaution to the freezing desert nights.  Tena did not however, like the idea of slipping and sliding across the pond which she imagined would be the outcome to any attempts to place her paws on the ice.

Indeed, with a slightly amused smile, the Demdji sat beside the pond's edge, neatly resting her tail over her paws.  Perhaps a little wonder gleamed in her distinct blue hues; ice was still a marvel afterall, as was snow and even rain.  "Next you'll have us sledding," the desert dweller ventured, raising a brow.  Of course, sledding sounded... Nicer than ice-skating.  No balancing acts.  She'd put some more thought into it.
