Tell me all that // open+announcement // I should know - jacob w.c. - 04-26-2018

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — Jacob could feel an anxious knot building in his chest as he made his way towards the center of the tunnels that Snowbound claimed as their home. The lump traveled from his chest to his throat and he took deep breaths as he settled down. While he would've liked to stand for such an important announcement, he was too afraid that he'd let his legs cave in or he'd trip in front of all of them or something equally embarrassing or revealing would happen. So, he cleared his throat and called, "Everyone, I got an announcement regardin' the tenderfoot tryouts so ya'll should come on over 'ere." He then waited a moment as a small crowd gathered around him. He thought it'd be best to get this out of the way, considering he didn't have much to say. "I'm happy ta' say that I'd like Izuku ta' join me on the medical team as a tenderfoot, if he'll accept," he concluded, a wide smile coming across his maw despite his anxiousness. After all he'd seen, he felt confidant with his choice. Not only that, but Izuku had helped him previously and he was sure the boy wouldn't hesitate to do the same exact thing for everyone else here. He was becoming a familiar face quickly in Snowbound and Jacob hoped he'd stick around for awhile. —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

When Izuku had signed up to be a tenderfoot, he hadn't really thought he'd get the position. Well, until he realized literally nobody else was participating. In the end, that'd only left Izuku, and he's not sure that's -- a good thing. Izuku wasn't a natural at medicine, and it was only through a lot of trial and error that he'd memorized it. He hadn't even considered being a healer before he joined Snowbound, even -- he'd always been in the middle of a problem, or in the front line, whenever he was allowed. But, well, where fighting now filled him with a bone-deep unease(blood, teeth, and fear), there was a soft bubble of content when it came to his odd mixes of medicine and books. Izuku had never thought he'd willingly become a support role without a struggle, but, well, here he was, wide green eyes on Jacob as he speaks.
He'd wandered over when Jacob had started speaking, as things tended to go. He'd been a little -- apprehensive, when he heard it was about the tenderfoot tryouts. He's not -- he knows he was the only one who actively participated, but he still jolts as he hears his own name come out of Jacob's mouth. He's not sure if he wanted to be a medic, but -- well, he wasn't strong, he'd been reverted back to zero, and Izuku really did enjoy healing. It's a long few moments of Izuku staring wide-eyed at Jacob's smiling face before he can really come up with a confident answer.
"I-I accept! Thank you!" The somewhat stunned look vanishes in an instant as the green-furred feline grins wide, tail giving a few excited waves. Though a little apprehensive of the responsibilities that came with Tenderfoot(he hadn't even managed as class rep for more than a day, after all), Izuku planned on doing his very best.

It was quite a relief to have the medical branch expand, especially for someone with such poor health as her own. It wasn't that she got sick easily or anything like that, no, her immune system was in peak condition, it was just her circulatory system that was a bit out of whack. Nothing too serious, at least not in her own eyes, though others would likely consider it perilous that her blood did not clot nearly as easily as that of others. Hemophilia was a mutation that had always plagued her, it wasn't anything out of ordinary, though the girl wasn't even sure if anyone knew of her condition here besides Killua. Jacob perhaps, but he hadn't seen it, so he may not know the severity of it.

There were a plethora of situations where the girl had almost lost her life, had no one come to her rescue. Usually it had been Maria, but seeing as her mother was no longer of this plane of existence, others willingly sacrificed a moment of their time to come to her rescue, as Killua had done. The girl could temporarily treat her own injuries, however she was not medically inclined from her previous experiences attempting the craft. Each time a herb book lay before her paws she was reminded of the lives she had been unable to save, the brothers who had all died of an unknown illness while she lived on. The subject just brought too much pain back from the past, no matter how many times she tried. Her personality and gentle nature may seem to be compatible, but the mental hindrance was too strong. No matter how much the girl wished to leave the past behind, she just couldn't, not this part anyway. She could not just forget the lives that she could have saved had she just tried.

But none of that mattered now, what did was Izuku. He had done well during the tryouts, and was now granted access to actively pursue the path of medicine. He seemed rather exuberant, the excitement on his features causing a smile to appear on her's. "Congratulations!" the girl would chirp. Though she did not know the boy that well, or even at all besides seeing his face on a few occasions, but she still felt it to be kind to come and congratulate him. Wasn't that what clanmates were supposed to do? Well, whatever the case, it did not matter now as the words had already left her mouth.
