"Well, well.. Looks like a shitstorm ran through here, my kids are going to murder me for leaving."

Owen didn't want to leave at first- yeah, he knew that he had some issues; being rejected by the guy he liked and just being a little bitch about it, it does shit to a guy. Bad shit. At least, to him it does.

At first step, the indominus rex wasn't happy with the fact that the scent had changed- things had changed. Something happened. So he had to follow such scent, and he ended up.. Somewhere strange, he supposed?

"What the actual fuck happened while I was gone..?"

"Well I'll be damned, Goldie. Looks like you've gotten some pep in your step, I like it."

Owen chuckled as he leaned down to dip his head to the woman in greeting, massive white scaled snout touching the ground in a respectful bow almost as she mentioned being captain now.

"Did Pincher bite the dust or something? He's been around for fuckin' ever."

Maybe it was a personal question, but he had been pretty good friends with Pincher before he left- He would have killed for the water wielding feline. Pincher was badass.

"Good to be back. I'll make up for the work I've missed."

Then his kids were mentioned, and Owen visibly flinched a little at that.
"Something came up. I'm proud- Has Masie been around much? She'll probably freak when she sees me. And my other kids- Oh no.. Oh boy, Keona is going to kill me for leaving- shit."

Re: YOU COULD BE HAPPY && return - SÉAMUS - 02-06-2019

"Ya mean if I don't," the Irishman called, ear flicking.  A slightly amused smile flashed briefly on his maw, but truth be told, Séamus felt a little on edge.  Not a lot went on and he's seen less of most everyone lately, but his sons were included in that list and it made him antsy.  For Owen to be gone too -- well he imagined Keona, who only knew her fathers and no mother, might be in mind to make good on the rex's words.

"I'd watch out, I gave her some sparring lessons for 'er birthday." He chuckled, snuffling some feathers.  He tried to picture the tiny feline going after Owen.  It'd certainly be funny, all things considered.

"Death on the horizon aside, welcome back."
"word of mouth there's a snake in the garden" —-- Séamus Ó Faolán

Re: YOU COULD BE HAPPY && return - Masie - 02-07-2019

Masie had to grow up a lot when he left and her sisters went their own ways again, when the pack essentially without intending to split up and nearly left her an orphan. She spent most of her time starving and trying to serve the larger pack best she could which was what had earned her a rank within it. Surviving without them had been far from easy and she was still starving, fueling a well contained rage over the incident.

She could smell and hear the fact her father was back and yes she was happy about it but that did nothing to dull the anger burning in the pit of her stomach. Instead of just walking up like the others? She snuck around using the fact she was darkly covered to her advantage, crouching low until she was close enough. Once she deemed herself close enough? The growing raptor exploded into a straight charge, Owen didn't get to just vanish on her and get away with it. Much larger than before, she leaped at the top of owen's shoulder aiming to slam her entire weight into it and likely give it a few good scratches. Once that was done? She would slip back to the ground, lift the frill atop her head hissing and jumping several steps backwards. Clearly, she had much better mobility and had grown much in his absence.

Calming down seeming in an instant the raptor walked over and purring rubbed her flank against goldies briefly, sitting down a foot away from the captain. "I also live in a hut now, though it was taken down by the explosion. Also I haven't seen delta since, I haven't seen Charlie, echo or blue for a long time either but I do know they weren't here when things went up. Goldie died saving me, so after you apologize to me for going missing you better thank her." she did a lot of chittering, having found her own ways to expand her own tongue while looking for ways to try to communicate with a group who couldn't speak it.

Leaving was a mistake.

He knew that.

So why did he leave his children behind when they were all he ever truly knew?

He couldn't answer that himself- It seemed far too painful to do so.

It seemed he had no choice, however, when he felt something heavy leap out onto his shoulder and tear into the skin and scales- something that only another dinosaur or more powerful and skilled being could do. Owen hissed in pain when he felt the pale skin underneath give way, the claws of the creature that got him slipping out just as he jerked his massive head over to see Masie, bigger than ever, nuzzling Goldie with the most vengeful look in her eyes.

Owen felt his heart break right then.

'Owen is sorry– I shouldn't have left you. The others.. I don't think they'll be coming back. I'm sorry I left you and your siblings behind.'

And as if a child being scolded by their parent, Owen turned to Goldie and literally /bowed/ his head to the felidae, his shoulder stinging from the fresh wound- but that was how things were ran in his family- if you were angry, you shouldn't have to hold it back if the person deserved it, and Owen surely deserved it for leaving his kids behind.

"Thank you for saving Masie and protecting everyone.. I'm sorry that I wasn't there- I should have helped you."

Did Owen actually seem.. Sincere about this? It felt odd, actually taking things seriously with how he always lived. He was just a big I-Rex wanting to return to the only home he knew. It was just harder than he thought.

"Seàmus, are the kids okay? Leo and Valentine?"

He seemed worried- maybe that was a sign of change- for someone like him? Probably, probably not. One may never know.

Re: YOU COULD BE HAPPY && return - Keona. - 02-08-2019

[div style="width: 527px; line-height: 1.4; text-align: justify; font-family: palatino; font-size: 11px;"][align=center]blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly
Owen.  Father of a pair of surprising half-brothers.  Both of whom the tiny feline couldn't say she's seen in sometime.  Consequently, a frown sharpened the striker's maw as she crept up behind her father.  Her ears flicked, pale hues narrowing.

"Who knows?" Cold and detached.  Near everyone pulled a disappearing act.  She wondered if they got lost, or trapped during the eruption.  Or they just... Disappeared.  Not a trace.  Not a single farewell.  Some returned though... Not them.  Not yet.  If at all.  They could hope, she supposed.  Maybe they were just hiding around.  Maybe.

So the striker chewed the inside of her cheek absently, brows creased.  In the end, Keona decided it was better Owen was back than remain gone, for him and the Typhoon but she'd leave the welcome backs to the others.

Re: YOU COULD BE HAPPY && return - Masie - 02-08-2019

It had hurt having to essentially raise herself since he vanished knowing better than the others that she was still too young to take care of herself. To survive? She had learned some things she shouldn't have learned until she was larger and the raptor would never be able to just apologize away the things she had lost growing up so fast. Obviously that didn't mean she wasn't happy Owen was back and didn't hope he'd step up again now that he was back, it just meant that pain couldn't be removed as easily as forgiveness could be given.

Once he had apologized? The young raptor got back up and walked over next to him falling in line right behind his hind leg. Clearly the hatchling had grown into a juvenile in his absence, no longer willing to run circles around his feet for her own amusement instead having developed the understanding that formation was important to keep within a pack. "Hopefully you're wrong. In the meantime it's just us and the smaller ones so I'll step up for now, so to speak. The pack structure can't be simply an Alpha while my sister is missing." plus the larger pack had already deemed her worthy of some 'power' so to speak, recognized finally that she was not the same as her sisters who lacked an understanding of them.

Her brothers were another issue, no matter how hard she tried "I haven't been able to track them down no matter how many times I combed the territory." it was actually a sad state, their pack was suddenly small, uncomfortably so. But how could they fix that? "For the moment I think we should rebuild my hut and live there, with both of us we can build it big enough." rebuilding a massive nest like they had before? Would be much more difficult without her four sisters.
