COMMUNITY VOTE ON POTENTIAL IDEAS - Quill - 01-14-2019 [align=center]
edit: These polls will close in a week from yesterday! (1/21/19)
Happy Monday everyone! (If you're not interested in reading this introduction, skip down to read the list of potential suggestions and vote for what you like!) To kick off this week, staff has been debating a few things that could help revamp the "main-game" as it is presently, and to help mold the world as a more tangible thing. However, we want to hear back from all of you: the community! The people who will most likely be doing most of the roleplay for this! For the sake of development of the site, finding a direction for the main game, and bringing a little 'jazz' back into the boards, we have just a short poll! Vote above! And, if you feel so inclined (which is very helpful to us!) feel free to leave comments in this thread about other suggestions, considerations on present plots, or any changes we should consider for these ideas. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?: 1) A drabble board - a board for human roleplay, themed events around the site (in a more contained area, like if we did a 'Christmas Bash'), site-inclusive AUs and plots that wouldn't otherwise fit in a single designated board, etc. In the following: all events and plots dictated in these events moving forward would have a long-standing effect on the BoB world in one way or another, be it territories changing shape and borders because of earthquakes, or the creation of a ravine across some area, etc.- also, even though it says 'staff-wide', we will still take input from communities involved as to what we should enact next. 2) (HEAVY) Staff-wide - Staff would like to begin designating site-wide plots to encourage development and interaction between clans. For this option, staff would have heavy control over all plots to keep it more of a surprise. For instance, earthquakes moving across clan territories and disrupting the earth; heavy smog from nearby wildfires and the threat of clans catching on fire, pollution, territorial bears, strange diseases... 3) (LIGHT) Staff-wide. - Instead of SUPER large scale plots, Staff would encourage smaller, more open-ended events. For instance, one clan gets the plague, or one person faces a looming threat of invading clans- what do the other clans do? Help? Ignore? Try to prepare for something that may not even come to pass? 4) Community-wide In this one, staff would still outline the 'main' events (more on the 'Heavy' side), however, we'd be taking feedback from all of you, too! In this instance it does make the plots less of a surprise, but the community can help partake in short votes to pick a direction that the plot goes. For instance, if we had a wildfire raging across the clan territories, the community could then vote: "The fires stop." "The fires continue to spread" "There's a flame tornado that makes everything worse" "The flames set off a volcano in xyz territory." While they have to be short so that the main plot doesn't drag on too long and become irrelevent, it could still very well change the course of the plot itself and help manipulate the world around it. 5) Badge events and rewards - similar to a CDC challenge, you would get badges and rewards (powers, gems, etc.) for participating in smaller development threads and writing challenges. (There would be, of course, some limitations to avoid one-liners and people spamming for the reward). 6) I ALSO HAVE A SUGGESTION! let us know if you have suggestions below and we'll take a peek!
