[div style="width: 480px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 13px;"]He whole life had been a game. She had come to terms with the realization, of course- or so she thought. But the girl had also taken over her whole game and killed her friends to get even a glimpse of what 'love' might have been. She had been talking to the player until suddenly, she... wasn't. What had happened? A flash of white, and then she had been transported to this... place. She was surrounded by flowers, which were all beautiful, but she wasn't supposed to be here. Monika's tail twitched. Wait. She glanced back. She didn't have a tail. Or at least, she wasn't supposed to. And yet... what the fuck happened here? Her claws unsheathed and dug into the soft dirt, but surprise gripped her throat and made it hard to swallow. Claws, too?! She was... ...a cat. "Well, isn't that just lovely," the feline growled lowly. Her voice grew surprisingly gravelly with anger. "Fucking stellar." But, she took a deep breath. She could deal with this. A new start. Perhaps this was simply just a new game. Monika grinned (though it was clearly forced), wrapping her tail around her. Her ears twitched and she felt something on her head- reaching a paw up, her smile grew genuine. She still had her bow! Oh, that was good news. Thank goodness. The girl gazed across the landscape with eyes as green as the grass she sat on. Maybe there were others like her. Maybe someone who could... help. Re: WITH YOU * stranger - ORPHEUS - 01-01-2019 [align=center][div style="max-width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 1.4;letter-spacing:.1px"]Orpheus wouldn't say his life was a game so much as a series of bad turns. He can't help but wonder when karma will pay him back for whatever's going on up there in the universe — after everything that's gone wrong, something has to go right. Sometimes he wonders if this place is supposed to be it. It's beautiful and everyone treats him alright, and if they don't, he doesn't mind. But after a lifetime of having good things ripped out from underneath him... well, forgive him if he's not too eager to let himself get wrapped up in everything. Still, he's started to take their politics and rules and strange traditions personally, which is why he's out here even though winter's chill is starting to bite at him. It wasn't too bad right now, with the grass still green and flowers still living; Orpheus is just someone more prepared for a beach or sticky-humid summers. It's an adjustment, as everything is. This part's getting a little familiar, though. The lion picks up the pace when he sees someone unfamiliar in the grass, someone much smaller than him and apparently lost. Once he's close enough to see her but still well out of each, Orpheus stops in his approach. "Can I help you?" Re: WITH YOU * stranger - arcy - 01-01-2019 Link would suppose that his life could be a game in some way. He just hasn't realized it. .. Maybe he just doesn't know enough about people to realize it. It's not like he really thinks about it though. Right now he's just ... still focused on adventure, and acclimating to society. He'd known that he was a strange, disastrous force in the eyes of the villagers he passed, but it was another thing to live with them and see why for yourself. ... Not that Link .... really cares a whole lot. On this day, Link may or may not be stealthily following after Orpheus. He hasn't quite gotten a grasp on how to navigate the group so he's just ... being a little stalker-ish in how he figures it out. It's not like the canine had a grasp on what personal boundaries were anyways, though. ... he's greeting someone. Link regards the scene for a moment, too, before he bounds out of his hiding spot and approaches, head tipped with curiousity as he steps in closer. He makes an odd little chirping sound, lifts a paw to wave in greeting. How had she gotten here, he wonders? He can't figure out a specific spot she'd walked from ... ... He decides not to worry about it. Teleportation, whatever. He instead seats himself, mostly content to watch, wide-eyed, for the moment. "we will not be torn" —-- link / ascendants / misc |
