a spoonful of sugar / cleric tryouts - clarence a. - 12-30-2018 Clarence had been a doctor for awhile. He was pretty sure most people here didn't know that. He hadn't been properly trained - he'd only been put in the position because it was the one that needed to be filled first on the soonest ship going out of port. That being said, he wasn't the best doctor but he'd tried his best to learn everything he could. He learned about natural remedies, about medicines that worked for certain and others that were more dangerous. He read every book he could get his hands on and studied diligently at his post in London before heading out on the Queen Charlotte. His knowledge was limited by his time, but he'd read up on it a little more upon his arrival to this new world, which seemed to be centuries ahead of his old one. While he'd hated joining the Navy, he wasn't going to let innocent people die just because he didn't really want to be there. No one really wanted to be there. That was his assumption, anyway. In any case, he at least knew enough (aided by some more recent books he'd found) to hold some try-outs for the medical position here. Having been in one himself during his time as a human, he was more than aware of just how important medicine and health in general was to a functioning society of any sort, and the Ascendants weren't an exception to that. So, he'd gathered up all the herbs he could find, some bandages, and a few miscellaneous tools, as well as some stuffed animals to work with before making his way to the busiest part of camp, where he thought his clanmates would be more likely to see him. "If any of you are interested in trying out for either the Cleric position, please make your way over here. If you'd like to just observe in order to learn some basic first aid, you are also welcome to join, just please state if you aren't interested in the position," the man called, waiting to see who might gather. He hadn't actually seen anyone use any sort of medical knowledge since his arrival, but there'd been no real need for it, so he was curious to see who might be interested. LISTEN UP; HEAR THE PATRIOTS SHOUT BLOOD LUST IN A HOLY WAR Re: a spoonful of sugar / cleric tryouts - arcy - 12-30-2018 Link knew plenty about medicine. Food and exilirs dealt with most of his problems, but it was still important to know first aid! .. Most of it he knew from before his memories. Faceless figures and distorted voices. Headache inducing, unrecognizable. Like you pulled it from sludge. But .. he used to treat people sometimes. Not often, never himself. The tryouts, however, don't interest him much. The canine frowns as he looks over. He respects healers, but Link doesn't , wouldn't, want to be one himself. He approaches nonetheless. It .. wouldn't hurt to test his skills, see what he could remember from his non-memories. He seats himself smoothly near Clarence, posture somewhat stiff as he shakes his head. Yes, with their position as one of the Heroes of Light, they often fought. But they also needed to know how to heal their friends, no magic involved. They learned that the hard way. They shift a bit, Scarlet eyes focused on the new Astral Seraph. "Sure. I’d like to try out."
✧ don't forget, i'm with you in the dark Re: a spoonful of sugar / cleric tryouts - Grimm - 01-05-2019 [align=center][div style="max-width: 420px; line-height:120%; font-family: arial; font-size: 8.5pt; text-align: justify; margin-bottom:5px"]It mattered little the information he had accumulated over the short expanse of his life, much centred around the pursuit of further knowledge, expanding until about the threads of reality and the world about him had his thinking been turned. He was a meteorologist, no matter the fact he was in training and the strands of such teachings were crumbling, decaying beneath his weak attempts to continue the research on his own, nothing touched upon such things as this. Yet a blatant lie would it be to say nothing of this piqued his interest, drew forth some faint sense of interest that this would be another avenue of learning. Better may it have been to learn more, scour the various books within the rooms set aside for those who held the place of healer, some already gone through in his time spent there. Tentative the first few steps, the press of light paws into the earth with its fine crust of pale powder, as was the slight curl upon the surface of cracked lips. “I'd like to try... please.” Almost an after thought was it, the word slipping through and Key lowered his head, tracing the line of his scar with the tip of a claw. |
