Kris had loved sweets, in fact, they had often been called "Pie Kid". They had always loved their mother's butterscotch-cinnamon pies. However, seeing as how Toriel was no longer here, they would need another way to get their pie fix. And what was that way? Making the pies themselves! The chocolate-colored feline had been making the batter in their room, using a stainless steel bowl. They were humming, adding small amounts to cinnamon to it. However, gien their small height, they had to use a stool. When they went to grab some butterscotch flavoring, the stool fell from underneath them, causing them to crash onto the floor. Unfortunately, the batter bowl fell with a clink against their head, getting pie batter all over them.

Clarence had a notorious sweet tooth and a love for baking. However, the problem with that was simply that Clarence was terrible at any sort of cooking or baking. He'd tried to learn from his mother and sister many times and put in genuine effort to memorize how long things needed to be heated for, what ingredients needed to go into it, and just about every recipe he could find in his mother's cookbooks, yet he was still somehow horrible at it. He wanted very badly to be good at it. It was the one thing he'd never achieved in his previous life that he'd really wanted to accomplish in this one. He wasn't exactly sure why he'd never been able to make it click, but he was determined to do so eventually. After all, there had to be a reason the world had decided to give him an extra life, and he was going to use it for something he enjoyed. No more running off to join the Navy, no more odd social obligations, no more anything. He was going to learn how to bake. That was why he was headed to the kitchen when he heard something fall. A soft gasp left his lips and he dashed in to find Kris with the bowl against their head and batter throughout the kitchen. "My goodness! Are you well? Can I help you clean up? Is your head alright? I can take a look at it," The man spoke quickly as he hurried into the kitchen, hoping that the child hadn't been hurt too badly when they fell. He wasn't sure he was the best person to supervise any sort of cooking or baking, but he was at least taller than Kris so he'd be able to reach the things they were having trouble with.
