ariside was deep in the cups by the time she had stumbled out from her forge, reeking of alcohol just to scramble up onto the rocks lining the drop into the sea, her eyes forlorn and full of aching pain. "hey dj. glow. if you're alive out there somewhere, please know that I am still hunting down the bastard that took your life so many year ago, darling. it's the anniversary of your death tonight. I'm in a different place, a different time now. I hope to see you and our baby one day soon. I'm trying, love. I'm trying to move on." she murmured as she looked up at the clear sky and the halo around the moon, light bouncing off of the ocean.

the cold wind rippled at her fur, catching and waving, a mocking dance of affection from the long dead that she would never see again. tears fell in the crashing violence far below, nothing to be compared to next to the broken and senseless whip of emotions coiled in her chest. she wished that the past would stay dead, but it never worked that way for her. the past kept coming back to drag her back under into the world she had escaped.

--------

a warped crackling noise came from her forge behind her before the nighttime world exploded in a burst of fire and flame, hot metal glowing hot exploding outwards, accompanied by shards of pottery. she stood there, looking down into the wreckage, in disbelief and shock as she watched the burning carcass of her entire new life, watched as metals glowed like divine eyes of judgement and retribution,
ash settling on her coat.

for that Christmas eve, she had nothing to be thankful for, only that her destroyed life and home were far away from the rest of where she had gone to start anew. if the popping and crying of the fire and super heated metal and wood didnt wake the city of sleeping sunhaveners, perhaps the heart rending cry of ultimate despair and loss, enough to raise the hair on the back of the neck, would haunt the dreams of those sure to rise.

all that she had left, was the fur on her back, the hollow emptiness in her heart and her sword strapped to her side, the ash painting war marks on her face as she dashed down to where her entirety had been. there, she would shed tears, claws dug into the dirt, unaware of the eyes watching from darkness, watching in satisfaction of the hunter's destruction. she had no home here, no lover, no family, no cause. she was alone, drifting, without a tether. for this was who she was: a traveler with no ties, one destined for the empty cries of sirens and the lulling waves of the lost seas.

Miyuki had known the pain of losing people before. It is for that reason that she became a detective. It was to bring peace to the family, and to hunt down whoever wronged them. Miyuki had been trying to sleep, though that went out the window when she heard a heart-wrenching cry. The kitsune forces herself up, grasping onto their katana as they rush out there. Perhaps a loved one found a body, or there was something else. Something else that was much, much worse than they anticipated.

The kitsune jogged, before seeing the tiger and the fire. Her silvery blue eyes looked as if they held an air of sympathy. The Visored walks over and coughs, to announce her presence. "Hi..."

a blurry gaze would meet with the kitsune's, tears welling within her eyes, looking back at the forge with a harrowing agony. her mouth was too dry, too rough. she could not speak, tasting only ashes and blood in her mouth.

her brows drew together as her jaw worked, as if she was trying to speak but was unable to. the tears rolled freely now, anger, agony, and loss ripping through her chest and mind. she shook her head, trying to convey that she could not speak at the very moment. this was far more sobering than any bucket of ice water could be.
