WINTER'S GREETINGS | Party - Main Gathering - ATTICUS - 12-17-2018
―――― //For the sake of avoiding flooding, this party is split up into two threads! This thread here is the 'main' gathering hub in the Observatory, where there's food, drinks, dancing, and conversation. THIS thread is out in the territory in the middle of camp, where people can decorate ornaments to take home, or to hang on the Ascendant's Winter/Christmas Tree as a symbol of the wider community that makes up their allies/neutrals and the holiday season c: The Observatory had been decorated for the occasion. There was a light snowfall outside, but there was a warm fireplace going within their observatory, with tinsel, twinkling lights, and other decoration lining the walls. Yet, while the decorations were a sight to be had, nothing compared to the food. After all, food was the main focus of any party, was it not? Two long tables lined the walls in the observatory. One of them contained large crock-pot like vats of hot chocolate and ladels, with sturdy mugs on the side. The rest of the table was line with marshmallows, chocolate, and chocolate-related spoons and additions to the cocoa, sprinkles, whip cream and just about anything else you could think to add to hot chocolate - even including some alcohol at the end of the bar, and a few regular juice, water, and drinks. The other table was filled with cooked turkey and meats, cookies, sweets, and even a nice looking salad. Bread rolls, too, were present, in addition to various other food items. Part of the observatory floor had been cleared as a means of dancing, and both a music system and a karaoke system sat in the corner, waiting patiently. Among the crowd, Atticus stood, with a santa-hat upon his head (no doubt enforced by Keyne), sipping from a mug of cocoa. Re: WINTER'S GREETINGS | Party - Main Gathering - clarence a. - 12-26-2018 Clarence was very familiar with parties. He'd had to attend plenty in his own time, in order to keep up a good family image and remain involved with the community. There was no reason to allow their suspicions to grow, after all. Still, it'd never really been an option for him to not attend a party. The food was good, sure, and the orchestra was always wonderful. That was his favorite part; the music. Often he'd wait for one of the members to go on break and then speak with them rather than the actual attendees of the party. While London did many things right, he wasn't much of a fan of conversation among the social elite. It was so... pretentious and unaware of itself. How many times did they have to debate the rule of the current monarch before they actually did something about their problems? And heaven forbid they ever actually tried to help anyone. It was all hypocritical and more frustrating than he knew how to express, so he stayed away from it. He felt like this one might be different, though. This time he would likely actually enjoy the company of the attendees. While things were difficult in this new world, he'd been fortunate to find some new friends and he was more than happy to spend some time with them around the holidays. In fact, it was a welcome reprieve from his own struggles. So, he arrived at the party with his new bow tie on and with a light smile on his maw as he noticed Atticus with what he now knew to be Santa's hat and a mug of hot chocolate. He approached the Seraph with a light smile, speaking, "This is lovely, Atticus. Thank you for putting it all together. The food smells wonderful. Did you make it all yourself?"
