sticks and stones may break bones // healing lesson - ROSEMARY - 12-15-2018

Given the resent lack of chatter about the camp, the physician felt comfortable enough to venture outside for a healing lesson with these odd creatures -- why mostly males flocked to the group, she'd never know, but she grew increasingly irritated with them. At least the dick measuring contest Seph appeared to have with himself. Or the voice in his head. Or anything that pissed him off, really. But she knew that now presented a good opportunity for her to get out and spread her knowledge to the group, now that her social anxiety flared down.

Sprawled out in the middle of their camp, the healer assembled various tins of herbs and salves around her. Tape across the sides displayed each of their names, though Rosemary's chickenscratch scrawl made deciphering the contents difficult even with that clue. Forked tail flicking behind her, the soft spoken woman called out, "Healing lesson over here. We'll be covering the basics for first aid today." A small slip of notebook paper, covered with the same erratic handwriting, lay before her face; Rosemary clearly prepared a small list of topics to cover for the lesson. After a pause, her main pair of eyes dropped to read her slip as she added, "And if anyone has any questions, whether now or during the lesson, please don't be afraid to speak up."

Re: sticks and stones may break bones // healing lesson - J. ADALGAR - 12-15-2018

argumentatively ,  hebi didn't know squat about herbs . it wasn't for the lack of trying , he knew how to clean wounds and patch them in an emergency , but sickness ? Poison ? he knew venom because he worked with Assura , and he always kept the antivenom on him in case his pet got testy with clanmates . hey - it has happened before . and assura's venom acted fast s he had to be quicker . but other than that , yeah , squat .

since he wasn't interested in really heading into battle much anymore , the panther knew he couldn't do nothing around the place . hell , he smeared at the gods this clan worshiped , if anything- he needed to be useful to stick around . maybe herbs was the way to go , because while he knew how to fight , in a clan like this - defending and killing are a very fine line . no thank you , something a little more peaceful , something that wouldn't make the panther queasy please .

the duo flocked towards the roux . the large panther shadowing the serpent , quickly scoping up the deadly thing between clawed paws . assura , for her own benefit , only puffed . giving a false strike to hebi which made him chuckle softly . all puff , no bite - at least for now . asura curled in his shadow as he settled to learn the lesson , a gentle smile on his maw as he turned to glance as his teacher for the day .

"I know venoms , but that's about it." he offered , anything he could learn here would be a good help , and maybe he could learn something about the plant life in this damned desert?

The young lady tapped her paw as Hebi came over, acknowledging the man and his snake with a small nod. Rosemary, used to one of her nieces wandering around with a black mamba around her neck, appeared unfazed by the panther’s pet. But the lack of attendance soured the atmosphere; given the lack of attending members in the group itself, the healer thought it stupid to take such a thing personally. Yet sting it did, even if it made it easier to keep her social anxiety at bay.

“It’s a beginner lesson, so don’t worry about that,” Rosemary responded, glancing with her smaller set of eyes around. But she decided she waited long enough to get stared.

Carefully, she opened two tins at her side and moved them in front of the large panther. Inside the first was a dried herb with yellow-gold flowers, and the second held a smooth salve cream with a similar smell to the dried herb. “Marigold and goldenrod are two of the most common herbs for warding off infection in a wound – both because they’re common to find and because they’re effective at what they do. It’s best to take the herb and turn it into a salve for later, but that’s a lot of work; hence why I keep extra stored in tins at home, to make into salves later,” Rosemary explained, before pausing to take a sip from her mug of tea.

“However, for first aid, most of what you’re concerned about doesn’t involve plants at all. Instead, you will want to focus on keeping the wound clean, stopping the bleeding as best you can, and resting the afflicted area while you’re getting medical attention. Do you know some ways to help slow bleeding?” Rosemary continued, her head tilting slightly as she asked the question at the end.
