the golden serpent was patient, waiting comfortably in one of the buildings that they had decided to investigate not long ago. they took a breath of the smell, relaxing at the scent of long-dead things. the building was large enough for them to cool up in, and without fear of the ground swallowing them up from their weight.

the dragon would pull themselves into an attentive pose, settling their own fly-away mane with a shake of their body, roaring as they poked their head into the doorway, content to back in the sun that came through the destroyed upper wall, "hey rosebloods! there's a brand new sparring competition!"

they would retreat back into the stone and sand heaven that they would treat like an arena for the time being.

hebi wasn't against fighting, though he tried for a peaceful aproach, the world would always devolve into it's chaotic state of fighting. It is something he has accepted long ago, something he is fine with knowing. For this reason he always kept his claws sharpened, his strength up. Just because he was peaceful did not mean that it would remain so. That he wouldn't have to fight eventually.

Still, a sparring competition was a good way to train, while seeing where you stand with the rest of the clan battle wise. The panther turned towards the dragon's words and followed him outside, wings curled around him as he made his way over, steady.

Ament did not mind the sun, but only at intervals. His coloring attracted heat easily, so hospefully he could sign up and slip away until it was time for a battle. "I'll join."

[div style="background-color: #292727; color: white; font-family: arial; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px; height: 340px; padding: 10px;"]Hm, this was always an interesting event.  Sephiroth rarely got to express his strength in a meaningful and public fashion, and he was an egotistical beast who took pride in his might.  That, and if not used in a productive his violence that rippled underneath the surface would burst forth and most likely hurt somebody, and the lion Pharaoh had more self control then that.  Really, this was a net benefit for most in the group.

"I will participate as well."  Sephiroth would hum as he padded to the scene after Hebi, approaching confidently.  He rolled the muscles in his shoulders, and would shake his quicksilver mane slightly as he awaited any further instruction from the Guard.

The ocelot rarely bothered with fighting, unless given no other choice, but she put in the effort to train her powers more offensively lately. Ever since Lucifer's rampage on the territory, she decided to take using her magic more seriously for combat purposes -- now she realized the Rosebloods lacked any other water or air elements, and she'd been the sole healer for a while now. That made her a target for enemies, and she hated the thought of getting attacked or used as leverage against her new home.

The sparring competition seemed a good way to benchmark how far she'd come with her training. "Sign me up," she mumbled, forked tail lashing behind her.

a quick, shifting, approving glance swept over all three contestants. "good to see some people showed up. alright. seph and rosemary, you two are sparring partners. hebi, I'll take you. the first part of this competition is going to be based on weapons and elemental sparring. its come to my attention that some fight with weapons and others with elementals. if you have elemental powers, use them to manipulate your weapon usage." they told the others before shrinking back into their fox body, taking up their jian from against the wall that they had leaned it against.

they had to admit, being the one guard who was physically cleared to be in combat was a real drag, and it kept them on their toes. not that they minded it, it just made them to make sure that their groupmates were physically ready to fight if they had to.

signaling hebi, they headed off to a different part of the arena. this event would also fare well with everyone when it came to the terms of bonding in the group -- an a+ if anymore showed up.
