White Christmas || Party Planning - ATTICUS - 12-12-2018
―――― Despite Ascendants' own holiday decoration and cheer as of late, Kit had not ignored the faint silence that had befallen the Clan. In some ways, it was simply the season. People were busy trying to prepare gifts and presents for their loved ones, or perhaps just trudge through the snow without freezing to death. Yet, things had been going relatively well for the Ascendants as of late, and it was about time that they extended their borders of friendship, if the pun was to be accepted, to their allies and neutrals. Especially with their new-founded neutrality with Sunhaven, it seemed a good way to kick off the good fortune that they had and extend their hospitality. So, in front of him, was a few sheets of paper. One was a fill-in-the-blank for a party theme, (with the exception that it would be preferably holiday related), one for food suggestions, another for game suggestions, and the last one for generalized comments or suggestions for the party itself. There would have to be decorating, of course, but Clarence, Opheus, and others have done a fair job of that lately, and Kit didn't have many concerns that they would be able to throw something together in no time. "Ascendants! If I could have your ears for a moment, I want to host a party within our territory for our neutrals and our allies. If you have any ideas for a fun party we could host, like games or food suggestions, I encourage you to come up and throw in your 'two cents'. I would hope to have invitations going out by this weekend. Thank you." With that small announcement made, he took up a pen to jot down some ideas of his own. Firstly: A Christmas Ball, with Turkey (if they were so lucky to find it in their plains), a raffle of sorts or a white-elephant gift exchange, and that costumes and christmas sweaters were highly encouraged. Friendships, maybe not so much — he was friendly, sure, but never too close to people as of late ("late" meaning years now) — but politics came easy to people who were used to pulling strings. His survival was wrapped around how well he spoke, what he said to convince people that he was worth keeping around or leaving alone. Violence was always alright too; it wasn't just his pretty looks keeping him alive after all, there are still scars on his body to prove otherwise. But that's... probably not the sort of stuff that their wise leader is looking for right here. Instead, the lion jumps at the call with a bunch of friendlier ideas in his head. He offers Atticus a friendly smile and twists his head to look at the papers he has in front of him. Trying to read upside down isn't easy for a lion, you know? He's not an owl or anything. It's not too hard, though, and he lightly paws at the page for general suggestions, though he doesn't tug it away from the other. "We should have people put their names on an ornament so they can put it on our tree or something. Keep track of who's there and all that, maybe make some memories, right? And maybe a part of the night where we just decorate that tree? Could be fun." He shrugs then, one ear gently flicking. "Hot chocolate, too. It's not Christmas otherwise." His voice feels thick, but he swallows through it and keeps going. "A place where people can pour it and put in their own toppings, maybe?" Re: White Christmas || Party Planning - clarence a. - 12-14-2018 Clarence approached behind Orpheus, settling down and fixing his gaze on the Seraph. He listened to Orpheus' suggestions, nodding lightly and remaining silent for a moment in careful consideration. "What about some kind of ice skating? Or, uh, well, I'm not sure what the equivalent of ice skating is for..." How could he say that? It seemed strange to call these creatures animals now when they were clearly so sentient and intelligent. Instead, he decided to scrap the qualifications. If they wanted to do it, they could figure something out, he was sure of it. "The pool should freeze over well enough, especially as we get further into winter. It could hold quite a bit of weight. We could even have things like ice fishing or other games related to being out on the ice," he concluded. He then fell quiet again but soon spoke up once more, "I don't know if we'd want to do this with your allies or neutrals, but maybe some kind of pairing event so more people could get to know one another? I feel like there have been quite a few newcomers as of late, myself included, and it would be nice to sit down and have conversations with some of them." LISTEN UP; HEAR THE PATRIOTS SHOUT BLOOD LUST IN A HOLY WAR Re: White Christmas || Party Planning - ATTICUS - 12-15-2018
―――― Atticus smiled faintly at the ideas that were presented by both Clarence and Orpheus, dipping his head softly in acknowledgement, "Wonderful ideas, the idea of a sort of hot-chocolate bar will be appealing to many, I'm sure, especially the children. The ornaments are a great idea, too. Something for others to take home as well. Ice-skating is wonderful too, though perhaps better suited for just Ascendants members-.. I don't necessarily want to be responsible for someone taking a skate to the face," he chimed in amusement as he briefly chuckled, "Thank you for your input. I will definitely incorporate most of this, whether within the party itself, or as a seperate event." With another dip of his head he sat straight again, lingering around in case there were others that approached to offer their input, or if Clarence and Orpheus had any further ideas. |
