the number one / settling in - aphrodesiac - 12-05-2018

// takes place after the noitapiiri joining thread which isn't finished yet so I've left it ambiguous whether or not Rho's wounds were tended to. Feel free to respond before the other pack members.

Her wounds were not fully healed yet, and each flick or twist of her torn eae sent a cacophony of white-hot pain slithering down her nerves. The dull, pulsing throb was distracting at best, and a beat that helped sever her thoughts from the missing half of her pack. Try as she might, though, they were like a fever in the tender furrows of her thoughts.

An unwitting, heavy jaw parted to taste cold air, full, wicked tusks on display as a pink tongue lolled lazily from heated lips.

The hardest part was settling in. It always was.

The boardwalk, as sturdy as it was, like a spine beneath flesh, groaned it's dissent beneath her weight. She was walking aimlessly, mind wandering. A gutter, it always was.

'Where is our den?' An inquiry sent through the pack's mind link. An interframe of woven thought. She was all too eager to figure out where was what just so they could focus on what to do next, and the elephant in the room; heir belated pack members, whom had yet to return.

Settling was a priority, but the longer they spent pacing the border in wait of the others, the further the task was pushed to the depths of their mind. They tugged on the bond often, waited for a response, but nothing ever happened. Dread clawed its way into their mind and coiled around their blackened heart. It was hard to do anything when part of their family was missing.

They were on their way back to the village when they heard Aphro's words on the bond. A sigh breathed past the hybrid's lips at the question, because in all honesty, the decision of where to make their new home had slipped their mind with everything else. A light touch on the bond led them to their packmate. Brown eyes settled on her walking the boardwalk, and with a few loping steps they joined her, a low purr rumbling within their chest in greeting.

We've yet to find one. Tao responded, low and weary. They paused in their steps and cast their gaze around briefly, heavy wings shuffling at their sides. Maybe an empty building, just until the rest come back. The alpha suggested. They wrinkled their nose and returned their attention to Aphrodesiac, leaning down to lightly press their nose into her pelt. Another sigh left them. What was there to be done about this?
