[glow=#000,1,400]FEELING, LIKE I'M TOUCHING THE CEILING — 。+゚.[/glow]
[div style="width: 480px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 13px;"]It had been a long time since they had had to retreat into the sanctuary of the mountains. Longer than necessary but they could not fight nature as no animal was capable of such a feat. They might be able to stave it off but not for long and the torrent of rushing water had become too much for any one creature to attempt to hold back. So they had had to flee high into the peaks of the mountain where the Pyre resided and she had to thank whatever gods that watched over them that they had managed to get to the place at least as safe as they had been able to. Much of the group was safe and that was all the leader cared about that they all had made it out of the flood. The Pyre had provided them with shelter and though it was not necessarily made for long stays it had been enough. Even with the Pitt leader throwing his tantrum at them it had all been enough and now they were able to leave the mountain and go back home. Or whatever was left of it but she was hopeful even then that they would be able to repair the damage. A soft huff left her muzzle as she headed the group down the mountainside, leaf green eyes shifting over the area before she stepped onto the muddied grounds of the meadow.

For a moment she was a little shocked, the place definitely didn't look the same. Much of the ground was caked in thick mud that reeked of sea bed and river water. It was hard and cracked underneath her weight because of the fact that even though they had left the mountains it was cold down there too. Slowly she moved forward, taking her time to access the damage of fallen trees and some that had fallen on others. It was heartbreaking to see the territory like this and who knew how long it would take before prey began to come back to them as well. Sunhaven was in store for a rough winter and she frowned a bit as see weaved her way around thick trunks of trees where grass had been smothered flat against the ground. "I really hope the village actually survived..." But her voice didn't sound hopeful as she looked over to the group following her. As she crested the hill her eyes were able to take in the ocean, placid now after all the water that had rushed into it.

Slowly the hellbeast began the trek down and her eyes took in the devastation. What was left of the boardwalks was simply a chunk of wood sticking up from river. Much of the homes that they had lived in had been washed away, some having collapsed in on themselves and she felt a bitterness at the mess. Taking a deep breath she moved along the beach and she started to kick boards of wood out of her way. "Well guys, we are home and it looks like we have a lot of work ahead of us."

Re: WELCOME HOME SWEET PRINCE || RETURN TO THE VILLAGE - AUGUST - 11-28-2018

August had never had the pleasure of living within Sunhaven's vibrant seaside town. He was sure that he would have loved it; the busy streets and the sights and all. The members of Sunhaven had surely enjoyed their little town while it lasted, and so the wolf pup had been curious about what it actually looked like.

As they made their way into the ruins of what was once a thriving village, August cast his gaze around slowly and observantly. His jaws parted in awe at the [sub]collapsed[/sub] roofs and the muddied streets. All of these poor people had lost their homes... hardly anything was left.

He looked up and commented, "Don't worry, we can fix everything." Then, hesitantly, he would add, "It'll just... take a while."

LION-SPIRITED { .:*・°☆ } ——— [size=10pt]info
A noise stirs in her throat at the mud that sticks to her paws. Her nose scrunches up at the smell in the air, shaking off the muck and continuing after Marina, uncomfortable expression deepening with each step. Reaching the tip of the hill, she assesses what she can see, her mouth pressing into a thin line. This wasn't good. Still she follows at the leader's heels, taking in what was left.

Her bright eyes settled on the ruins of her old cabin, destroyed just like the rest of them. It stood, a skeleton of itself, roof caved in and the walls creaking under the weight of keeping themselves up. She exhales through her nose, only thinking about all the work she would have to do--at least she wouldn't be the only one.

Ymir rolls her eyes slightly at August's comment. "Real uplifting, kid. Thanks for the motivation speech." she grunted, turning to look at some debris from another cabin, boards of wood sticking up from the wet ground. He was right, though: this would take a while. "character's speech."

Re: WELCOME HOME SWEET PRINCE || RETURN TO THE VILLAGE - Fairylights - 11-29-2018

―――― "He's being realistic," Fairylights would whisper softly, almost too softly to hear as she follows after along August. It seemed that this now was to be her home, and as she looked out over the destruction that this flood had caused, she couldn't help but feel a sense of irony that panged at her chest. Her family, aside from an uncle that didn't even know of her existance til now, was gone; and her heart felt much like that ruined village that they now stared at; that they would now have to repair. August was right. It would take work, and a lot of it; but, perhaps in some ways, it was a chance to start over. The little girl took in a breath, trying to cling to that fact as she nodded gently to herself. Yes. The past was still a bitter wound, open and bleeding for the world to see, but they now had to a chance to move forward. Together. She wouldn't be alone, and they wouldn't be alone either. "We have each other. We can do it," she asserted gently, looking over her shoulder to August. "We're smaller, but we can start cleaning up some of the smaller messes, seeing if houses are safe to enter. The bigger adults can handle the rubble?" she asked slightly, trying to pull a smile onto her maw, softening her eyes some.

"I can hold up parts of collapsed buildings and move aside rubble with my size." she announced quietly, eyes sweeping the devastation with a sense of sorrow. she understood the pain of losing your home, and she knew it very well, as intimate as a partner, nearly.

SUNHAVEN — GOLDENBLOOD — FEMALE — BORDER COLLIE — PLAYED BY KICKSIE

[div style="text-align: justify; width: 50%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 11pt; letter-spacing: -1px; margin-top: -15px;"]Bex was extremely nervous to return to the village, which was odd. She typically didn't get nervous. She was usually calm and rolled with whatever happened, but she missed the town, and knew that there was no way it'd look the same. Not after the flood happened. It had destroyed it, there was no doubt about that. Bex had been having nightmares lately about the waters crashing through, and she had a feeling that she wasn't the only one so concerned about it. But now they were going home, or to what was left of it.

The collie made her way down to the mountain with the rest of the group, feeling her heart begin to pound more and more rapidly as they neared closer to their beloved village. When they finally reached it, her eyes widened and her ears pinned back. She was shocked, yet she didn't know why. She had expected this to happen, but perhaps part of her hoped that it was actually going to be fine. But the entire place... it was not the same. It was a disaster.

August was being optimistic, and Ymir was being a bit pessimistic. Fairylights had hoped, and Kade was quick to wanting to get to work. And Bex just stood there. She stood there for what seemed like forever, staring at the place that they used to call their home. No, it's still our home, she reminded herself, shaking her head as if to snap herself out of her sorrowful thoughts. She was never a huge fan of work and would much rather play, but she knew that work was the only thing they could do now.

"Yeah, that'd be great if you could," Bex told August and Fairylights as Fairy had suggested that the two kids clean up something a bit smaller. Bex herself could help with the bigger messes, knowing that she was among the larger members of the group. She better put herself to use so that they could get this place cleaned up and rebuilt as soon as possible. The sooner, the better.
