Massive, alabaster paws skim across the ground, steadily but with grace. Blue eyes trained on their target, he crept forward silently. As he examined its slight movements, he could feel his heart pound against his chest, muscles rippling beneath his sleek coat. An opponent so mighty, he didn’t think he’d be able to defeat it… But doubt was the last thing that should be on his mind. Coriander stood inches away from the scaly ‘beast’, its tongue flickering out between its scaly lips. Huffing, he raises his haunches and lowers himself down to the ground to the point his chest brushed the cool soil beneath. A breeze whips passed him, tufts of his cheek fur rustling against the wind. Coriander lunges forward, paws outstretched to capture his enemy, but as he lands, he’s left with nothing. How could this be? The dramatic scenery around him fades, his majestic figure melts into his more realistic form which happens to be a motherless kitten and not a white lion. The giant creature he stalked was just a gecko now scuttling passed him in a hurry to get away from the clumsy child. He didn’t defeat the beast. His chin dips down to his chest, ears pressing against his temples as tears glisten in his eyes. ”Stu...pid.”

ATBASH CIPHER
somebody make me alive,
and shatter me !
Whenever Stryker had taken out her eye, Atbash had to relearn how to hunt (and fight, of course). Perhaps it would have been easier to learn if she didn't live in a snowy terrain, but eventually the former leader was able to teach herself how to hunt with having just one eye. It took her weeks to learn, almost a month, but Atbash finally did it. Even so, the savannah found herself having trouble occasionally, having trouble determining how far away prey was or how hard she should leap. Hell, pain sometimes shot across her face, distracting her from the hunt.

Hearing Coriander, Atbash turned her head to look at the kitten and heard him mutter to himself. Slowly, the Lunar Lieutenant made her way over to her adoptive son(?) and craned her head down to try and lick CORIANDER's forehead. [b]"You're not stupid." Atbash tried to soothe him in a soft tone, a small purr escaping her throat in an attempt to cheer Coriander up. "You're learning still. In fact, your form didn't look too bad." Of course he still had a lot to learn; he was young. "Just be more patient."

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]She knew that it was wrong of her to want to chuckle and walk away, nothing more than a taunting  force with a burning desire to remind the child of his mistake. But Agathe was intelligent enough to know that that sort of behavior would hardly be welcome here, let alone from the leader. As much as she had enjoyed watching the child's blunder from afar, she was expected to at least be an inspiration to him (and others). Laughing would not accomplish that. So she merely sighed as she approached, her golden gaze sweeping over Atbash and Coriander.

"Maybe I shoulder lower the apprentice age," The snow leopard murmured, mainly to herself. Six months to finally start training seemed a little unacceptable in her eyes, but she had never entertained the thought of altering it until now. Until she saw this. She'd think it over and, at the very least, see to it that the kittens were given some sort of substantial education before the real fun for them began. "Hunting is all about unwavering focus and refined skill. You might be able to bring something down with untrained technique only if you're lucky," Agathe continued easily, believing that she was only helping the situation by informing the child of such. Children still succeeded greatly in making her uncomfortable and a little part of her argued that she was doing nothing but making this situation worse by offering her two cents. Oh well, at least Atbash seemed to know what she was doing with the little one.

/super rushed, sorry!

The rough, sandpaper like tongue he familiarized himself with scraped against the top of his head. An overpowering lavender aroma gave away the mystery of who appeared behind him, causing him to crane his neck to stare up at the spotted feline. Atbash, his mother until further notice, smiled down at him and gave him words full of encouragement. He rubs his cheek against her forearm, a small whine escaping his throat. ”But... I ‘idn’t get it, Attabash..” he mumbles in his broken English. Patient? His metaphorical eyebrows furrow, tilting his head to the side as the gears in his head visibly turned as they tried to figure out that word. ”Pay... shent?” he mews slowly, looking toward his adoptive mother for confirmation. Coriander’s ears twitch just as Agathe’s voice caught his attention, focusing his oceanic gaze on to the leopardess. Was that... A good thing? He hoped so. Either way, the little white kitten’s maw expands into a wide grin, flashing his developing teeth. ”Thank you, miss Agathe!”

"I think the apprentice age is just fine," Atbash responded to Agathe as the snow leopard made her way over, blinking her one eye at the leader. "Kids still need to be kids, ya know?" Why rush them to learn about the world and how the clan worked? Looking back down at Coriander, the Lunar Lieutenant chirped, "You did great." She wasn't just saying that to get his confidence up; she truly did believe her words. "But yes, patience. It means to relax and take your time, plan things out carefully." At least, in this context. "Don't rush things, such as your leap or the way you stalk your prey. Any loud or sudden movement will startle them."
