「 THE FIRE BURNING IN YOUR HEART : JOINING 」 - AUGUST - 11-20-2018 [align=center] Okay, where was he? Where was he? He felt like he had been walking in circles forever. Everything around him was so powdery and white, and it was hard to tell where he had already been. The wolf pup lifted his snout to the breeze, shutting his eyes so that he could center his hearing and his sense of smell onto the task at hand — finding civilization. A flash flood at the base of the mountain had separated him from his mother, so perhaps she had found one of the local tribes. Perhaps she was there waiting for him, if not looking for him already.
One paw after the other, the youngster carefully dug his paws into the snow and tried to slowly but surely work his way up the snow-blanketed mountain side. The journey up to the peak of the mountain was tiring as well as incredibly dangerous. A multitude of things could arise from being up here: an avalanche, frostbite, getting hopelessly lost, or — SLIPPING! August had lost his grip on the slippery surface, and before he knew it, he was tumbling back down the hill. "Whoa, whoa!" He yelped, rolling down the slope like a bowling ball. He had been tossed about before crashing into a rock, which had in turn halted his graceless descent. Thankfully it had been here, though — had it not, he would have eventually shot right off the edge. He was rendered stiff for a few moments as his ears rang and his eyes adjusted to the disturbance of balance. Everything was still spinning circles, and he slowly flipped onto his stomach. "Ow..." Mumbled the child, a frown stretching onto his maw. Re: 「 THE FIRE BURNING IN YOUR HEART : JOINING 」 - REBECCA MACK - 11-20-2018 [align=center] SUNHAVEN — GOLDENBLOOD — FEMALE — BORDER COLLIE — PLAYED BY KICKSIE Rather concerned, Bex swiftly wrapped her camera strap around her neck and darted off in the direction of which she heard the noise come from, pricking her ears and lifting up her muzzle to try to sniff out the kid. It took her a minute of searching, but the collie soon found herself gazing at the wolf pup, eyes widened as she observed him. "Hey kiddo, you okay?" She inquired, tilting her head with a slight frown. "I know that rolling down hills is fun and all but you gotta make sure to be more careful." Now, small hills were always fine to roll down, but not even adventure-loving Bex would advise anyone to roll down a mountain. That was just insane. Now seating herself down by the pup, the larger canine offered him a reassuring smile. She began to wonder where he came from, and how he managed to climb up here all by himself. She certainly didn't remember him being a part of Sunhaven before. Was he here all alone? Where were his parents? There was much that the goldenblood was wondering, but she was sure it would all be made clear soon. This wouldn't be the first time any kid ended up in Sunhaven on their own before, anyways. "What's your name? Mine is Bex." She thought that she might as well try to make him feel comfortable, especially since his time on the mountain didn't seem too joyous so far. He had taken a pretty good fall, and was just lucky that he didn't end up rolling off completely. Re: 「 THE FIRE BURNING IN YOUR HEART : JOINING 」 - AUGUST - 11-20-2018 [align=center][div style="width:490px; font-family:arial; font-size:9pt; text-align:justify"]The sudden new presence had nearly startled August, and had it not been for her reassuring tone of voice, he would have been scared away immediately by the stranger. Without his mother, he was practically rendered helpless. He craned his neck, looking to the dog. Although his tumble had been accidental, it was obvious that she was just being sarcastic. "Yeah... I got it." Mumbled the pup groggily, blinking a few times and raising a paw up to rub his temple. He still frowned, his head throbbing from the blow. Had his velocity been any higher, he could have gave himself a concussion or cracked his head open, at the very worst. Luckily, all he would be sustaining would be a headache and a bruise. Her name was... Becks? Like Becky? Or like "Rex" with a B instead? It was certainly unique. He sat up, shaking the powder clinging to his pelt, and he cocked his head towards her. "Uh, August." He never bothered to say his full name, Augustus, as he liked the shorter version far better. Next, the child would question, "Do you... live around here?" Perhaps she was apart of the commune of animals that he had heard so much about. Re: 「 THE FIRE BURNING IN YOUR HEART : JOINING 」 - guts - 11-21-2018 Ymir had never been overly fond of the village by the sea, but it was a lot better than being up at the snowy peak of a mountain. Sand was better than snow, in her opinion, even though they were both equally annoying. At least they had this temporary refuge. As chilly and hawk-ridden as they were, they still were better than being stuck down there with the flood waters. Drowning was an awful way to go out.
The yelling that drifted over the peaks caught her attention, Ymir lifting her head from her mindless milling about to stare over the distance, curiosity more than worry urging her paws forward. Soon the form of Bex and some unfamiliar pup came into view against the white snow blanketed on the ground, the female coming to a halt beside her clan-mate. A smirk pulled at her muzzle, glancing away from August to look out over the edge he nearly fell off of. "A good thing that rock was there. You would have given the hawks a nice meal." she'd tease with a toothy grin. "I'm Ymir, by the way. We both live around here, with some others from our clan." she explained, turning away to glance over the horizon, distantly wondering where this kid's mom or dad was. The mountain-top wasn't exactly the best place for a pup to roam by themselves. "character's speech." |
