yeah right, yeah right / p. kris - coriander. - 11-18-2018 [align=center] Despite his thick coat the cold managed to penetrate through the barrier to prick at his skin like needles, causing a ripple of shivers to travel down his spin. He tucked his head tighter into his abdomen, gathering as much warmth as he could without the warm body of his mother. Atbash left him while he took a nap, possibly off to do adult things. Things he wouldn’t understand. Things his young mind couldn’t comprehend just yet. A sigh escaped his parted lips, unfolding his tiny body to stand and wobble out of the freezing room to wander the halls. He didn’t yet get a chance to explore; exhaustion and dehydration stole away his energy, his recovery slow but sure. Coriander’s eyes flickered around, examining each empty corner and crevice which only fed his childlike wonder, though never sating it. ”Helloo?”

'Adult things' were something Kris was fairly familiar with. They had grown up with a good mother, but they held a grudge. She had, after all, pushed their father away from them. So they had spent much of their childhood off on their own, independent and surviving the best they knew how. They still did, really. Being social didn't exactly fit into their busy agenda of troublemaking and doing other kid stuff. Still, since appearing here, Kris had been forced into more interactions than they would have liked, but they were... growing used to it. Somewhat. It was a slow progression, but a progression nonetheless. For now they had simply taken to wandering the halls that they could get into. They had a lot to learn about their new home, and despite the cold they were out and about doing just that. They gazed through hidden eyes at the scenery to be beheld, but it seemed kind of... bland. They weren't sure. Kris was busy looking for paintings when a small call reached them. Helloo? Their head turned in the direction of the voice, but they were hesitant to go near it at first. It was obviously that of a child, which they trusted, but the solitude and the time of night set them on edge. Kris made tentative steps towards the source, though, keeping low, staying careful. Their head poked into Coriander's view. Who was that? They felt as though they had seen him around the territory once or twice, but they couldn't be sure. The silent child blinked. He looked a bit... unsteady. Was he alright? Or, a better question, why should they care what he felt? Er... because they were empathetic, maybe? Whatever the reason, something drew them closer. Kris stopped short of the other kitten and simply waved a paw in greeting. They preferred not to speak, but they would if they had to. They cocked their head to the side. What was his name? "SPEECH"
