THIS IS A WARNING --- fighting poison lesson - SÉAMUS - 11-17-2018

Uncertainty laced in overconfidence and flamboyant nature.  Simple, yet... Well, he was not in the nature of sharing.  Not generally.  Yet here he stood, amidst a simple layout for his lesson.  Many poisonous plants on display; foxglove, nightshade, yew berries, holly, foxglove and even a few leaves of poison ivy and oak that he had taken great care in moving without touching directly.  He tilted his head lightly, regarding the bringers of pain and doom, clicking his talons.

Yarrow, stinging nettle, and tannin as well, sat among the carefully laid out poisonous herbs.  The good and the bad all together.  The pirate held back a wry smirk before he sighed.  Get this over with.

"Hey!" The Irishman raised his voice high as he dared, the epitome of relaxation and indifference.  "You wanna know how to combat poison, come over 'ere for a lesson.I'm doing something 'good' with myself, are you proud, da? ma?  Kian?  Raziel?  Maybe later, he could teach everyone how to use poison, as the vulpine was rather fond of lacing his weapons with deadly concoctions.

Her un- father -- one of two, remember, Keona -- teaching a lesson on... Curing poison was the last thing she'd expected to happen upon.  He just... Well, he didn't seem the medically-inclined type.  A spy.  A snake, as Kian would often grumble.  A soldier, her uncle Raziel had explained once.  Both of the twins had been soldiers.  Flickers of confusion danced in her pale hues as the tiny fae reluctantly begins to approach.

She inhales the scent of plants, quietly, making notes to remember them later.  Some were like to be poison, the others... Well, she assumed the cure.  The striker had spent some time considering her path once, looking towards the necro mambas during her beta ceremony but... Well, she felt content with her choice in the blackrats and would like to continue pursuing a career down the elements of her division.

It'd be worth knowing what plants she ought to avoid though, and what to do in the case someone has been poisoned.

[div style="width: 480px; height: auto; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 9pt; line-height: 13px;"]He'd been prattling around this place for a little bit and oddly there was little to nothing going on. Sure he could find himself something to do and not try to piggy back on someone else's good time but hell he was kind of lazy. He didn't want to put the effort into finding himself something to do as that would require a lot of work for himself to attempt to put together. Really a place that boasted about being pirates and the like one would think there was something to do beside the mundane tasks that everyone set out to do. He was in a bit of a time crunch anyway because he was supposed to stay off of his metal leg still the skin healed correctly around it but he just hate to be coped up longer than necessary. The jungle temple pace was cool and all of that, packed with the strange scents of mingle herbs and other medical things but he wanted to go outside and see how rough and wild these pirates were. But to his disappointment there was absolutely nothing around, nothing going on and nothing to do. A sigh broke free of his throat, one sounding of agitation and something else as he looked around with dual colored eyes that expressed his irritation at the group. Was it there fault? Hell yeah it was and he wasn't about to say it was his own fault. That would just be silly.

Although just as he was about to turn around and head back toward the temple in dismay the male heard someone shout. Jerking his ears up he turned his head around and gazed in that direction a bit of interest sparking in his pained gaze before he started to make his way over to the area. Already his golden blood was starting to drain down his black metal leg and he gave a light sigh, flicking some off the metal claws as she allowed himself to get just a bit closer. Although as soon as he heard the subject the male groaned and loudly too. As a teen he didn't want to learn about no poisonous herbs, he didn't care honestly and he plopped down, pushing his head against the sand as he sighed with exasperation. Why did today have to be the most boring day ever. "Boringgggg...." He breathed out lightly as he closed his eyes.

Re: THIS IS A WARNING --- fighting poison lesson - Masie - 11-20-2018

Possessing confidence required knowing what someone was doing, being aware of what the path someone ran along entailed. Masie never had any clue what she was doing. Yet, the brave could also come across as being extremely confident if they learned how. Learning was the thing that drove her, it had since the moment she hatched, but she couldn't understand why. The scent of herbs floated on the air catching in her nose the females amber optics blinking as she chose to go investigate. With gaze locked on the numerous plants Seamus had sprawled out on the ground, Masie realized she had no idea what any of it was, another whole section of the world she hadn't discovered yet.

Three toed feet left small prints in the sand as she walked forward the rest of the way from where she had stopped to investigate by sight. Carefully the raptor sniffed the herbs he had laid out on the ground, tilting her head as she plopped down, legs tucked beneath her as her arms tucked against the side of her chest. "Booooring" the tone of the word, she didn't know the exact meaning of the word but the tone of it ran up the back of her spine. Whatever had been spoken? She simply didn't like it, an over dramatic exhale coming from her as she cut off a chitter halfway to express her distaste, quickly refocusing on Seamus after that.

From the beginning they had been about herbs, learnt of their purposes and names though tongue twisted and curled, unfamiliar with a great many of the names they bore, never did it quite snuff the desire within all the same.

Minimal was the knowledge contained in the idle strand of thought touching about cream toned skull where it came to such things are the darker side of medicinal herbs, those that bore with it hidden dangerous. Addiction was low though about some it was a factor common, the want for the reduction of pain bringing with it the further consequences of such, death lingering about the edges for all too much of a good thing can be as disastrous as a bad. This was different from both, however, sharp the smell of it about each, hidden within tones meant to soften and lull, protective measures used in defence of others.

Quiet the shuffle of lightly toned paws, the gentle passage of each breath through lips given slight a part, flick of pointed ears making note of each present for sound and smell had become their near to only fashion of navigating the land about them. Blink of pale toned eyes, unfocused as upon each it comes to touch, making note of the colouration and shapes, slight as they were within blurred sight. Near to Goldie the youth settled, familiar though it was within stories she had become the hero, lifted to a place she held within life though details were pushed and pulled, exaggerated until she was something more.

He doesn't usually think of toxins or venoms. Bakugou knows better than to touch a suspicious looking plant let alone consume it. The use of poison in any other other case such as battle or putting into food was dirty, coward's move. Then again, it doesn't hurt to learn. Whether or not the information will stay in his head or not was left to chance, the cream ragdoll approaching with a look of neutrality. He glances at the assortment of herbs in front of the faerie before glancing at Goldenluxury. It's difficult not to compare himself to her now that he was technically her equal in rank. To his luck (or perhaps misfortune), his thoughts are interrupted by a certain prosthetic legged feline, the male flicking his ear at the motor mouth. The newcomer was always trying too hard to be a pain in everyone's asses. Once he thought of the other that way, it was much easier to think of everything more clearly - a whiny teenager who wanted attention. Simple, easy.

Bakugou simply takes a seat closer to the back, stonelike eyes drawn towards Seamus, narrowed slightly as he thinks of his previous interactions with the family of foreign-speaking pirates. He hopes this lesson doesn't turn into a half-English, half-Hawaiian mix because he was willing to riot.

The faerie rolled back his shoulders, keen eyes darting from each prospective student in turn, nodding to Goldie, passing by 'bored' female with a snort, offering his own daughter a quick smile though she'd not see it, smirked in amusement at Maisie and her own distaste, a curious look at one he knew little of and a quick flick of his ear towards one he knew disliked him.  The feeling was rather mutual, Séamus truly cared little for others in most cases, even his own brothers oft suffered his disinterest.  His children however, seemed the exception.

Given the group was of a good size to start, he'd decided to get rolling.  "I'll start off with the poisons, then go on from there." He gestured a talon towards the more infamous plants, wryly smiling, "this is foxglove, nightshade, yew - you may know them as death berries, holly, and, please do not touch these, poison ivy and oak."

"Most of these plants can kill you, and will if the proper care isn't provided in a timely fashion." Putting it lightly.  He didn't particularly want to scare anyone, especially the younger audience, but they needed to be aware. "Symptons that one of your crewmates might have ingested nightshade - which you should never do - include giddiness, yawning, they might stagger when they walk, have trouble speaking and swallowing.  If you look at their eyes, their pupils will be dilated.  They might feel like they're suffocating, then eventually they'll suffer paralysis and death follows that."

"Here's some herbs you use when someone's been poisoned; yarrow, stinging nettle, and this is tannin, from the inside of an acorn."

"There's really only one way to deal with nightshade, and that's to give them yarrow and stinging nettle.  Does anyone know what those herbs do?"

He's a very straightforward teacher, she realizes, the tip of her tail flicking.  Her head inclined just forward, only a little, as she took in everything.  Nightshade.  She'd heard of the deadly plant before, but only in passing... Gentle warnings, and the such, though she'd never gotten close to the plant, so she had never learned it's scent.  That sounds bad.  She shuffles her paws, a stubborn glint in her eyes to soak this in and remember, even if it isn't a fun topic.

Poison sounded like a... Shady way to deal with things, and she had a feeling there was a reason her father knew so much.  He liked being in the shadows.  A true-born spy.  Her division meant for social and spy work… So she ought to know a little bit about poison, if he thinks it's important for that field, right?  With a light frown, she decided to offer up an answer to the poised question, sure she had an idea what they did.  "They make you throw up... That gets rid of the poison, yeah?"
