prehistoric nightmare ! // delta's return - axiom - 11-17-2018 [align=center]
She wanders back to the island with the confidence of a beast that recognized the territory as home. Compared to the forest terrain of the Ascendants and the cage she grew up in, the jungle’s climate felt lovely to her scaled body. The presence of her pack, too, made the land feel like hers – she smelled the traces of Owen and Masie the strongest, though the absence of her sisters stuck out to her. But she had been gone, too; out exploring the world, trying to scratch an itch she couldn’t understand.
So she comes back, her wanderlust sated from the past few weeks of recklessness. Delta remembers the land bridge, how to walk through the long and narrow strip carefully enough to avoid getting wet. Slipping back into the island, she recognizes the scent of the mammal pack – though she seems unbothered, almost not to notice. She thinks of them as nuisances at the worst, things that her alpha will not allow her to kill, but she cares little for them. Most do not hunt the same large prey items she does, so she sees little need to compete with them for resources. But she smells her pack. Traces of them, strong in these lands. Delta is smart, but she isn’t patient; she lets out a loud broadcast shriek, ready to greet them. Blue had been out of commission for a while now from her injuries, and the clanking sound of her chains from her capture still hurt the indominus rex's head from memories. Such wild beings shouldn't be trapped in one place- they needed to be wild, allowed to roam, and that is what Owen allowed his children to do. The sound of huffing could be heard in the distance, and a large white and brown head lifted up into the air from the meal he had just been tearing into, tongue drawing over his bloody chompers. "Delta?" He guessed, a wild guess really, his voice coming out in a soft babble, the spines along his back quivering slightly against the wind. It was better to nip this in the bud now: His raptors had no sense of patience unless they felt like it, so Owen knew he couldn't waste time with making himself known to Delta. His Beta. G R I M M "The endless Void, The gazing abyss, The bottomless ocean of horror...It coiled itself around your tender heart" ah, owen's raptor - or one of the four. he really, really hoped there wouldn't be more trouble with his own children - or sunhaven for that matter given the bad experience with owen's raptors in particular. though they seemed far more less reasonable than his own - or perhaps his virtue of talking to them paid off, that or whatever had gone into these ones genetics that Owen had spoken about caused such differences, hm, an interesting thing to ponder mayhaps. still he hangs back in the shadows - Owen will handle this - but the dark dragon is there just in case. tags — [color=maroon]large dragon — hellion [5ft] — typhoon / officer — extreme Re: prehistoric nightmare ! // delta's return - Masie - 11-17-2018 The nest felt colder without her sister's hanging around like they once had, less to do at home leading her to wander much more than before. Most of her time? Was spent looking for things to chew on, like the stick she was currently carrying. Yet, she would rather just take a bone from one of her sister's kills than find random objects to ease the pain within her jaws from her adult teeth starting to come in. Masie was larger than when Delta had left, it wasn't noticeable to Masie and almost unnoticeable to those who lived around her, but someone gone would surely notice it. Sharp contrast to the small thing she had been when she first hatched and slightly less contrast compared to near domestic feline size she held when Delta had last been around, Masie now stood roughly a foot and a half. However, the biggest change was the dead fish clenched within her jaws, when Delta had taken off she hadn't known how to use her jaws to kill things, clearly this had changed. "DELTA!" her chitter was delighted, jumping off a log she had been standing on and dropping the fish in front of her sister. "Food, Delta's." she also spoke better than when the larger raptor had taken off, her chitters perfectly coherent at last. Re: prehistoric nightmare ! // delta's return - ADARA - 11-17-2018 ADARA female ✦ the typhoon ✦ venandi pack
Adara was not fond of change. Not at all, and it was clear to anybody somewhat familiar with the feathered raptors' body language, tail raised and fanned in an attempt to make herself look bigger as she stood a bit behind mother, and crest slicked down, beady eyes watching Delta carefully, a few rapid clicks coming from her mouth in warning. She was intelligent enough to know not to engage Delta, not with the size difference, or else it would've been a flurry of feathers and scales already. That, and Owen and Masie would likely get in her way. She'd likely end up dead in a confrontation, even with her siblings at her side, and she hated that more than anything. The fact that they couldn't use brute force to make what Adara saw as competition leave, or to kill them. For now, she simply gazed at the group of featherless raptors with disdain, seeing them as disgraces, not even for a moment considering them utahraptors when they followed Owen around like a dog, allowing him to use them as both shield and spear, like dogs eager to please their master. Of course, Adara and her siblings held great respect for Lucifer, but made their own decisions. Virgo's word was law, not mother's. "I don't like them, mother. Or trust them." Adara didn't hesitate to make her opinions known. © madi
