Maker's Mark || Forging && Weapons - ATTICUS - 11-14-2018
▹▹▹▹It was about goddamn time he got his sword back. Where had the blasted thing gone between Kit's last place of residence and here? Damned if he knew! It was the most frustrating thing that had happened to him in a while, which was saying something. Regardless, the forges had caught his eye since day one here in the Ascendants, and he was finally about to put them to good use. True, while he maybe didn't have as much experience as some as the older Ascendants members, he did know how to not utterly kill himself with a red-hot piece of metal and a forge. Though it took him a while to figure out what would be the best metal of choice (certainly not the one they used for ceremonies), and a little longer to figure out how to start the forge without breaking it, he was now steadily in business, the ring of metal on metal resonating out as a hammer struck the hot piece of metal held carefully with a pair of tongs and his paws. He had amused himself with jumping right into making a new sword then and there, but even he could curtail his desires long enough to try something more simple. A necklace charm, perhaps; a knife. He wasn't really sure yet, aside from getting a block of metal to be something more manageable. Perhaps an idea would come to him. //Basically if you want any little trinkets or new weapons for your characters, here you go! c: Otherwise Kit's just going to try and not kill himself in the process Re: Maker's Mark || Forging && Weapons - Vincent C. - 11-14-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 540px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10pt; line-height: 1.4;"] The strange ring of steel on steel managed to attract Vin's attention. Which considering his unquenchable curiosity, that wasn't particularly hard. Putting that aside, making a strange new noise was a surefire way to attract the young cheetah to the premise, even if all he does is watch from the sidelines. Although when Vin easily made his way to the origin of the noise, he felt that perhaps what Atticus was doing was worth a conversation. What the other male was doing was quite new to him. For he'd never seen anybody ever forge a weapon, heck he'd never even heard of the idea. Though then again he supposed then again, such items as swords and the like had to be made somehow. Those things didn't just grow off trees. And speaking of swords, it seemed that Atticus was currently working on something that looked faintly like the beginnings of a sword. Of course, never seeing someone ever do this before, he had to ask. "What're you doing?" Followed by the slight tilt of his head. Vin hoped he hadn't startled Atticus with his sudden question, though then again it's not like he had made himself known when he had entered the room. "that's so neat," the panthress said as she approached, eyes wide as dinner plates, "is it hard?" [ jjjjjj rushed asf ] Re: Maker's Mark || Forging && Weapons - ATTICUS - 11-17-2018
▹▹▹▹ The ring of a hammer upon metal continued, even as Atticus registered the sound of pawsteps and a voice behind him, his ear turning faintly to consider the noise as he kept working, his face stern in concentration for a time. For a few moments, perhaps, it would likely seem as though he was ignoring the people now behind him, asking questions, but after a time, as the red hue of the metal began to die down, he carefully set the piece of metal further away, given it would still hold some heat, before he turned. For a moment, his gaze flickered over the two of them, likely considering for a few moments before he inhaled slightly. "Forging," the answer came simply. "A few practice pieces to get the feel for it again," he explained firstly to Vincent before his gaze shifted towards Billie, offering a touch of a shrug with his words. "It takes practice," he admitted, "Like most everything. The hardest part is figuring out what you have to do to make what you want... So you don't crack the metal and such. Or burn yourself, mostly." //ackk this is short i'm sorry |
