It had been a rather long time since Meredith was able to simply be at peace, free from the worries and the stresses that often plagued her mind. It had been too long since she was allowed to rest her body and let her head silence. The night was coming to the land as she lay at ease in the field of flowers, a soft smile upon her maw. It had been too long since she had seen the night descend, since she had watched the golden skies of the evening be gradually replaced by the gentle hues of blue and purple that made up the late night sky, a shimmering carpet of stars slowly blinking into existence within it.

This was a time where she felt closest to her ancestors, a time where she was able to look up into the wide expanse and imagine that there may be people who loved her gazing down at her and giving her guidance. She knew that there may not be anything there but she chose to believe that there was, for she did not have much to give her hope these days.
The snow leopard did not notice the nipping winds that slowly descended upon the earth, nor did she notice the presence beside her. She was at peace and she hoped that nothing would interrupt her.
she didn't always get what she hoped for.
