Clear skies - Tanglewood refugee departure - Morgan - 11-03-2018

The Tanglers' stay was a quiet one, but it would not be forgotten. Morgan howled out to call his comrades to the edge of territory, his head held high. The month of October had seen himself and his whole group go through a lot of changes and hardships. Even with the desecration of his home, however, the samoyed did not feel regret anymore. Instead, he smiled wide in eager anticipation of what could come next.

"Tanglers, assemble here! We'll be leaving shortly! The spirits have disappeared!"
Tanglewood was a much small group than it once was, but for the first time in months, things felt like they were truly and fully on the rise. The General felt closer than ever to his fellow Tanglers, and even closer to nature itself. His experiences with the strange set of ghostly elements gave him a new perspective on his senses; he would have to meditate on them more at a later date.

For some reason, the cream dog felt like he was up for a small speech. Perhaps it was out of love for his group, or out of some sort of narcissism after his personal improvements. Regardless of his reason, he barked one more time, then said,
"Thank you for staying here in this strange, strange month. I was much weaker at the beginning - all I could think about was how much I let you all down. A group of Tanglers' selfless actions, and the reappearances of some of my old friends, changed that. I accept others'll join or leave, die or be born over time. I'm a leader, but I'm no god. I'll do my best to protect you all, and I know we can work together to protect each other, too. Our raid on the Pitt was proof enough of that."

There were only a few things left to say, so the canine cleared his throat and continued.
"When we get home, there'll probably be a lot of work to do with rebuilding. I'm sure we'll be able to get things done soon enough, though."
With any luck, the ghosts would have only caused minimal damage to the various new buildings and structures around the territory, but it was not certain just yet.
"Also... we all should thank the people of Sunhaven for having us over. We're indebted to them - once we're back up and running at home, they can consider themselves welcome guests anytime."
Their generosity was greatly appreciated, and the General wanted to make sure they knew that.

With his improvised speech out of the way, Morgan turned around and took his first steps out of Sunhaven territory. He was ready to finally return home.

Re: Clear skies - Tanglewood refugee departure - toboggan - 11-03-2018

In retrospect, apart from shoddy introductions, nothing awful came of his group’s stopover in Sunhaven; mind you, one would be exaggerating if they were to say it was the time of their life. During he trek here, the top of his mind was clogged with the anticipation for negative reception from the locals. In the end, the results the mutt had seen were exactly what he’d prepared for, though not to the extreme extent that he’d foreseen. Marina’s cronies were barely demanding of him, and did not require him to do much in the name of their tribe, thus making a perfect circumstance to lay low and catch up on some R and R. While he virtually hibernated, the month transitioned, and upon leaving the confines of him makeshift homestead, the ghoulish activity noticeable dwindled. Here’s hoping the same thing went for the swamp, as Morgan appeared intent on leaving the trading hub for home after squatting for a mere week, a period that usually occurred as too short when it came to making long-term decisions like the icy pooch was doing right now. Still, almost the entirety of Morgan’s choices had resulted positively for Tanglewood’s better interest, so Leroy trusted the Samoyed, and what he stood for.

As the topic of rebuilding exited Morgan’s maw, the guardsman’s folded ears yanked back in a sudden flattening of dismay. The gang had poured gallons of their energy and time into refining Tanglewood’s territory into an origami model of perfection, only for it to be crumpled together and stomped on by the fucking phantoms who decided to lay claim on the Tanglers’ turf. It was a very long and painful process, hauling logs, sawing trees, conveying bricks, and now, the General suggested that everything should be done again. Though he did not say it, Leroy’s reaction to this was a stiff “no”. Construction made sense when the clan actually had a large number of inhabitants, but now that figure loomed lower than ten, and, well, it made more sense to the gray mutt in simply ditching their old place, and moving somewhere much more snazzy. Maybe pick up a few rolling stones on the way and populate the group a bit?

Another motif that the chieftain spoke of was the raid on the Pitt, and its participants’ selfless actions. This flustered the mutt. While he slept, a group of his kind left to fight the fatheads in the desert and save Delilah. While he lazily stirred, people were getting shit done - without him. Part of him was upset that nobody had come to wake him for the event, but the rest of him could come together in agreement that it was his fault for being an inert dilly-dallyer. With great optimism, nobody minded his absence.

The mongrel remained rather unfazed by the departure, as he understood that he’d be back in less than a week on account of some ambassador business. Nodding in response to his cream superior, Leroy soon followed Morgan’s footsteps, and left the territory.

Home. It will smell like shit, but it’s home.

Being a leader wasn't something that was extremely easy to do. Half the time one wasn't taught how to be a good leader and it was up to a new leader to try and figure out how to lead a group that they had hopefully known for a while. The over-sized cougar knew this from experience, as when he was just an assistant deputy to the group that he had come to love and care for. All of his friends had existed there, and the young male didn't really know what he was getting himself into. He was just doing his job as another animal and didn't expect any sort of praise from anyone. He didn't do it for glory or for power. Ichigo had plenty of power to protect himself and others that he cared for, it could almost be considered that being an assistant deputy was somewhat of a hobby as he didn't really do all that much. Having a new job didn't change what he did for the clan, as he just did the best he could. That was all that he could ask of himself and those around him. After the loss of his adopted sister, who had become leader at the time before disappearing, her partner decided that he was going to go and look for her and try to find her. At the time, his sister's partner had been the second in command of the group, meaning that he would be next in line for leader. But it was at that moment, that the cougar was promoted to the title of leader, skipping an entire rank as his brother in law went looking for his sister. Ichigo had no idea what that could mean for him, and part of him didn't even want to be a leader. He was young and inexperienced when it came to running a group. Hell, when he was the leader of an organization he believed to himself that he had done a terrible job and that he wasn't a fit leader.

His fellow Shinigami would probably agree with him in that instance that another leader should have been chosen instead. Ichigo didn't say no to the promotion, and instead, he ran the clan for several months before stepping down. Being a leader twice was certainly an experience for the Shinigami, and a couple days after he became a leader, he was killed in combat. He was lucky to be reincarnated. Although, he wasn't certain if lucky was the right word to use in this instance. Either way, he had to make tough decisions when he was a leader. Whether or not to drop or add allies, to go or not to go to war, to enact punishments, promote and demote members, it all was bunched together. Ichigo knew what it was like to be dragged into a war, or move territories. It was a stressful occurrence and one that shouldn't be taken lightly. An entire group could hate a leader for the decisions that they make, but they never need to make it alone. They could always ask their clanmates whether they agreed with the idea that they came up with. Ichigo was all about communication, as he never wanted to force someone to do something that they didn't want to. The former leader has been entirely about free will and everyone finding where they fit into the world as well. The Shinigami wasn't entirely sure what to the think about the Tanglewood members. They had certainly been an interesting group, and he was able to get a vibe from them that they weren't like the ones in the group that he had once been in charge with. The armored male felt some pity for them at the mention of their territory being overrun with ghosts and spirits. He had tried to figure out where their territory was so that he could lend a hand and let the spirits pass peacefully. He never managed to figure out why there was an influx of ghosts in the area, and that concerned him greatly.

It was almost as if there was a calm before the storm that no one could predict. Ichigo had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, but the past week had passed without much of a hitch in his mind. Sure, he was constantly working back and forth dealing with ghosts and other beings, but other than that the wildcat hadn't had to deal with any massive threats that he had come across. The swordsman had been in the area when he heard an unfamiliar voice. Ichigo had been patrolling using his enhanced hearing and decided to investigate. The scent that hit his nose told him that it was Tangelwood, at least he thought it was as he was terrible with memorizing scents sometimes. He came across the Samoyed, which reminded him of a certain leader where he was from that took the same form but without the mask. Ichigo was still off-put with the mask that the others wore, and Ichigo kept his distance so that the Tanglewood members could gather toward their leader. He was glad that Sunhaven offered them a place to stay. Ichigo would have done the same thing in the own clan that he had led. The tired male sat himself down and let his bi-colored eyes look at the canines as they began to walk away. "No one should be turned away if they're someone in need." Ichigo called after the group, happy that they at least enjoyed their stay for the short time that they were there. The Shinigami knew that there were exceptions to what he said, and he knew that if they had been an enemy against his own group and they asked for help, Ichigo probably would have refused and driven them off. Times change though, and this was a new group. He had much to learn.

Re: Clear skies - Tanglewood refugee departure - rhosmari - 11-04-2018

In her mind she would have never turned Tanglewood away, she would have always helped them in their time of need. For any need really as they were a valued friend. Their relationship would be strengthened because of this and she had no quelms that they wouldn't have done the same for them if they needed it. The massive hellbeast moved forward as the Tanglewood leader spoke up, listening to his words with a slow breath lingering in her throat. Her eyes scanned over the animals that had gathered and she had to admit that they had been pleasant guests. Nothing had gone wrong and they had contributed just as they should when they were at their own home. She was appreciative of it and she allowed herself a small smile that pulled against her pale pink stained lips. Flicking one of her tails she sat down and allowed herself to sit down near Ichigo. Her tails then curled against her body as a sense of restlessness moved through her body. The idea of the Tanglers having to rebuild their home all by themselves didn't sit well with her and she gave a light dip of her head to interject about it. "If ya need help with the rebuilding, we are here tae assist ya should be we able tae. Don't hesitate tae ask of us."

Frankly she had to agree with Ichigo's statement. No friend should be turned away and frankly no one should be turned away if they needed help. Though the Helion had learned to grow cautious to those she called a friend and those that she did not call a friend. Even mere acquaintances she had learned to be weary of and she sighed softly. The idea of going to the Rosebloods to seek and alliance had rolled around in her head but she kept to herself about that idea and instead just locked it away. She would call for an open discussion with the clan on a few things anyway."I hope ya have a safe journey back home. All of of ya."

The Tanglewood members provided a change in scenery which the Solbinder greatly appreciated. She would have to pay them a visit and help them with their territory, though they would likely benefit more from her medical expertise. The mutated feline would fall in line behind Marina, making sure to keep a few feet of distance between them. The medic wasn't great when it came to social situations, and did her best to avoid being awkward.

A light smile formed, and she came to a stop beside the Helion now. "If you need medical assistance or extra man power, don't be afraid to let me know." Leona offered, warmth flowing from her voice as she spoke. She had no reason to not trust their allies, at least not yet. But the drama with the Ascendants had, admittedly, made her more cautious of who she could trust or reach out to.

"Safe travels, and may the cosmos guide you."
