Needless to say, Eddie hasn't been having a good day. Or week. Or month. Hell, maybe even a year. His life is just one shitstorm after the other, and Eddie is kind of resigned to it by this point. His uninvited guest may be deeply annoying to deal with, but it's not like Eddie can kick him out. Granted, Eddie isn't entirely sure he wants to. He might be just a little(not just literally) attached to the damn thing, but Eddie wasn't about to admit that for the life of him. Because, for the record, he's still pissed that Venom ate one of his groupmates and got them kicked out. Of his fucking birthplace. It was literally just like -- a week or so ago, what the fuck. "Just because we can survive on our own, doesn't mean we should," Sick to death of arguing this, Eddie slinks along the ground. Edde still isn't really fond of this we, us thing, but it's not like Eddie is doing it consciously. (the flash of pleasure Venom gets whenever he says it is very suspicious to Eddie, who hasn't realized he's doing it at all.) EDDIE, There's an attempt at a counterpoint right there, but Eddie is not having it. "Scientifically, people thrive better when they're in contact with more than one person" Eddie isn't sure this is a scientific fact, but Venom wouldn't know this either way, he's sure. Eddie isn't all that big on science, except when it pertains to a case. It's really more an unwillingness to bother trying, these days. RACCOONS ARE NOT SOCIAL CREATURES, Venom tries once again, and Eddie might just be projecting the smug edge in the creature's voice at knowing. Eddie finds himself deeply reluctant to give the .. goo monster .. the satisfaction of one victory, derailing.. "And when, exactly, did you learn this?" He huffs, picking up pace as he scuttles over the desert sand and rock. They're close. Unless Venom decides to physically take over his body, there's no reason to worry. .. Eddie is a little ashamed to admit that joining a new group is an act of sentimentality on his part, though. Fleeing back to the safety and familiarity of a new group, now that he was kind of ... banned ... from his old one. And there's that familiar tinge of annoyance and what is definitely not hurt, just like everytime Eddie thinks of how he got kicked out. He decides not to acknowledge it. "Well, we're here anyways," Eddie says, instead of trying to continue an argue neither of them would win. There's a downside of sharing a body with a ... thing. (he wants to say parasite, but Venom gets so upset everytime, and he's just not in the mood, right now.) They know each other's intentions and why, at least to a certain extent, and neither of them are being purely logical about this. Their points. Whatever. Venom makes a vaguely frustrated noise, but doesn't argue or say anything more, much to Eddie's relief. He doesn't want to encounter these ... Roseblooders ... while arguing with him. That'd just make them think he was fucking insane, and Eddie didn't want to fuck up his first impression. This was a fresh start, no black mark on his record. The black mark being Venom in all of his cannibalistic glory. ... Granted, Cannibalism was ... kind of normal, huh? I mean, it wasn't real cannibalism, so many people being different species, but so many of them were sapient and it got so muddled? He's not going to waste time thinking about it right now. That's going down a deep, dark rabbit hole that, while fun to explore, was better left to deal with at later times. "This is the Rosebloods, yeah?" Eddie decides it's fit to shout at the top of his damn lungs. He'd done a lot of careful research on this group, and he knows the scent. They probably won't kill a joiner, anyways. The raccoon's tail gives a sharp sweep as he scowls for a moment. Ugh. He's witnessed a joining or two -- his birthplace was too small to warrant basically any outsiders coming at all, and it was really awkward to be the one in this position. Settling would be hell, he's sure. "'Cause, if so, I'm here to join. Eddie Brock." He's still shouting. He's not quite sure what he's shouting at. Maybe there's somebody in earshot listening to him, but there's gotta at least one person who comes to investigate, whether they make out the words or not. If not, it doesn't fucking matter though, does it? Eddie is capable of going exploring for weirdos in a forest, thank you very much. //mightve messed up the territory bc i didnt try at all fshjdfds. (god i need to rewatch the movie though i mightve fucked this up) Re: STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT ⬤ joining - sephiroth - 11-02-2018 SEPHIROTH MALE — ROSEBLOODS — LORD — HOVER FOR TAGS

Even when he had joined he merely sat at the border and only spoke when he was spoken too. Loudness didn't suit him. So when he heard shouting from the border the Lord couldn't help the rumble of minor annoyance from his throat as he made his way over to the newcomer. A...racoon. He certainly hadn't seen that before, at least joining the group. An invisible brow raised as the leader looked Eddie over, silver tufted tail flicking. Interesting, to say the least."Welcome to the Rosebloods then." The lion would greet, dipping his maned head as he towered over the smaller animal. He looked down his muzzle at Eddie, used to standing over his groupmates for the most part. "I am Sephiroth, the leader. I am to be approached if you have questions." Sephiroth would offer his help, a typical leader duty to tend to and one he didn't mind. He wasn't social and talkative, but he did put effort into working hard for his group, his purpose. Re: STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT ⬤ joining - galexiux - 11-02-2018 The little bird hopped behind Sephiroth, smiling as she tried to keep up with his long strides. The magpie-jay had situated herself into the Rosebloods fairly easily. There were a small number of people that did not exactly ... agree... with her kind, but she tried to not let that effect her. She was born with a body much smaller and more agile than most. She was going to use it. Once she learned how to fly, she'd run circles around them But until then, she walked. The bird, lost in her throughts, smacked beak first into the back of one of Seph's legs, falling back onto her behind. She stared forward for a few moments, shocked, before she recovered. Gwendoline shook her head, smiling brightly. She hopped back to her feet, her talons digging into the dirt to ground herself. She raised a wing, the other tucked close to her side. Hello, mister Eddie! She chirped. What a funny name! Eddie. It rolled off the tongue easily. My name is Gwendoline! It's nice to meet you! She didn't even think twice about the whole raccoon thing. She had no reason to. She, herself, was also a misfit. Perhaps they could be misfits together. That sounded like fun!! Maybe they'd go on some sort of grand adventure and find treasure together!! With magnifying glasses and puzzle solving skills! "SPEECH" Re: STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT ⬤ joining - purgatory - 11-05-2018 Koda thought he was starting to get the hang of prancing around the territory. Yes, prancing. Why would he walk? Walking sounded boring and although it did save the snow leopard from tripping over his own huge paws, it wasn't nearly as entertaining as prancing. Running was alright, though any form of exercise is overlooked. He also had to carry around his notebook, making running a bit challenging too. But prancing held just the right amount of speed and enjoyment. It's faster than walking and he won't tire as swiftly if he were to run. Did he sit down one day and actually contemplate his mode of travel? Of course. He had nothing better to be doing. Things have started to get repetitive for the child who yearned for adventure and excitement. Sitting one place has never been his forte. Being able to live in such a vast area with many places to discover helped him, but it'll only be a matter of time before every stone is turned; a day he both looked forward to and feared. As always, the notebook and pen hung from the clutches of his jaws as Koda pranced through the forest in a carefree manner. He had decided to take notes on the various flowers that grew in the territory and mark their location just to keep himself busy. Now that he thought about it, he should have asked around for a book about flowers so he wouldn't have to give them nicknames and hope he remembers which one's which. Lifting his paw, he rubbed his nose as he crouched beside a blue flower. He had not the slightest clue as to what it was, but he decided to nickname it "bluejay" and carry on with his task. Continuing on, it seems the invisible path he had laid out for himself brought him to a bird, lion and raccoon. A strange bunch. Curious, child bounced over, slowing when he realized Eddie was an unfamiliar face and ever so slightly flattening small rounded ears in a timid manner. Sticking close to the other Roses, Koda placed his notebook on the ground and wrote down an introduction. "Welcome to the clan, Eddie! I'm Maekoda but you can feel free to call me Koda." He then held it up shyly, somewhat hiding behind the book while doing so. So he didn't really need to shout at all, huh? Eddie's maw quirks up in a little grin-smirk as he regards the much larger lion. In all honesty, Eddie hasn't encountered a lot of big cats in his lifetime. Mostly because home was ... largely made up of smaller creatures. But he heard that these larger groups had mostly cats of sorts. Which, y'know, fair. Maybe not in Eddie's favor, but, whatever. WE COULD TAKE THEM, Venom insists, and Eddie can feel the other's interest, and hey, no. They just got here. "Shut up," Eddie grumbles under his breath, shaking his head, before looking back up at the lion and .. the two newcomers. A snow leopard and, rather delightfully, a little bird. "Got it," Eddie tells, uh, Sephiroth, carefully taking the larger creature in. Not that you could easily mistake them for anybody else. Sephiroth seems to stand out rather well, both with his appearance and how he comes off. Eddie could respect that. As long as he didn't have a secret darker side or something. That would be ... unfortunate. Eddie has seen enough "dark sides" to last a lifetime. ".. Nice to meet you, uh, too, Gwen, Koda." The raccoon goes a little soft as he grins at the new two. He likes kids, and they seem nice enough. He fumbles for something else to say, but ultimately fails. He's never been all that good at real social interaction, much less with kids. He spent too much time holed up in his bed, writing. And would probably continue to, but on a lesser scale. |
