STAY GOLDEN : meeting, 11.01 - MOONMADE - 11-01-2018 This meeting came late. Not like the others. There were no glorious morning rays breaking through the windows, no fresh chill of a new day. The Observatory is filled with creatures settling down for their last meal before sleep, huddled in together, laughter bouncing warm off the walls. Moon feels like he's interrupting something as he lumbers through, side stepping meals, taking the long way round circles of Clanmates just so he doesn't get in the way of their enthusiasm, their fiery grins lit up by golden light-- artificial but lovely, still.
He hopes they're distracted enough not to notice how he slips when he makes a leap for the platform. He's sloppy, tonight. Weak in the bones, weak in the body. Drained, and he doesn't know why. But he makes it up there, clawing at the marble surface and hauling his drowsy vessel aboard. It's a new platform, this time. One he'd claimed when he'd first turned up at this colony of star-obsessed Assholes' doors. He'd never called Meetings from here, before-- hadn't felt like he had the right to, so soon into leadership. But he'd been meaning to. And, for whatever reason, if felt like if he didn't haul ass up here now, he'd never get the chance to again. "Ascendants," Calls Moon, voice scratchy. His cheeks set aflame when his voice comes out weak, lips curling into a sheepish smile before he manages to speak again. "Quick meeting, tonight. You aren't pretty eaters-- don't want to hang around up here too long." His body is aflame with something. It bubbles under his skin. "There's nothing much to announce. Hope you all had a good Halloween. Maybe this'll mean an end to the ghostly fuckers that've been riding our asses for the last month? Sayonara, Caspers. Hope you've had enough of our fine hospitality to keep you satisfied till next year." "Got some promotions, though. Agathe, Titan-- you fuckers ever take a goddamn break? Putting in hard work. Gonna' whip the Seraph rank out from under me some time soon, I swear. Making me nervous." A small smile. Genuine, sincere. "Promoted to Cosmic Generals. Good work, both of you.” I've said this before, and I'll say it again, and again, and probably a-fuckin'-gain 'till one of you get off your asses and step up to the role-- We need Medics. Come on. I sound like a goddamn broken record. One of you has to have some weird herb fetish up your sleeve. Now's the time to whip it out." He's serious, but his words are teasing, melding with the warmth of the atmosphere. There's still the ghost of a smile hanging on to his sunken, exhausted face. "Like I've said a thousand times; come get me if you're interested." A wave of fatigue hits him. The crowd starts to swim. He clears his voice. "Right." He says, sucking in a breath. "That's it. I'll be in my room. Eat up." He clambers down from the platform, lands messily and weaves through the sea of bodies. Everyone's already turning back to one another, smiling, chattering over their meals, when he gives his parting words. The air is warm. It's a good way to leave them. "And enjoy yourselves, yeah?" Re: STAY GOLDEN : meeting, 11.01 - BABY — - 11-01-2018

YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME
YEAH, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T GO BACK, IT'S TOO LATE TO SAY IT'S TOO LATE. YOU CAN'T TAKE BACK THAT YOU SAID NOTHING. HOW COULD YOU DO NOTHING? Moonmade was unlike himself. The lion could s e n s e it; in his slowed movement, in his faux grin, in his voice. Something was wrong, but Titan did not know what. A silent concern tinted his hues, though he said nothing. It was not his place, nor the right time to do so. His silly casualness and references were mostly unknown to him, though he could manage to decipher what he was telling them. The "Halloween" season was over and done with, and hopefully so would be the ghosts. It seemed that everybody had problems with them this month, and so perhaps he hadn't been alone. Perhaps his dream had been all too real. And, once again, he and Agathe had been promoted to an upper rank. Did he and the leopardess realy make a good team, or did they just coincidentally put in the same amount of effort in helping the clan? Titan gave a glance to the fem, but did not speak while Moon was still talking. Was he happy about this? Sure. And yet, at the same time, hesitance stirred within his gut. Re: STAY GOLDEN : meeting, 11.01 - agathe. - 11-01-2018 [div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]Agathe's golden gaze had found Moon the moment he walked into the room, her meal forgotten as she watched him with a certain worried intrigue. She, too, could sense something off. Something different. But it was not her place to comment nor was it to move from her spot away from the others. She simply watched and listened and held her silence, even as she and Titan were once more promoted. Cosmic General. Such a strange rank. She met Titan's glance with one of her own, the slightest dips of a rosetted head the only indicator that she was aware of what was happening. What came next. But then the meeting was over and Moon was heading back to wherever he had come from, a strange sense of finality hanging in the air that caused the leopard to shift. She didn't like that, not one bit. Had her hunger not once more overwhelmed her, perhaps she would have pursued him to sate her own curiosities. It was a shame that she didn't, but of course, Agathe had no way of knowing that. Approaching steadily, hearing the tail end of the first announcement, a black ear flicking as weakness seeped up in the other's voice. That was... not ok. Normally the leader seemed genuine with his jests and quips, yet here they seemed so jaded and defeated that the bicoloured tom couldn't help but frown. Promotions, further demand for medics (were his own desires distorted if he didn't take one for the team?), it all seemed fairly standard this week regardless of his concerns. Giving a congratulatory nod towards Agathe and Titan, Ren mewed "I can play medic if no one else will,". A stranger panther seemed interested too, time would tell the tale of what happened next. |
