It had been a while since she'd had any contact with a living creature that wasn't either prey or predator. Nobody had been on equal grounds with her in what felt like forever. It was too long, too long and Lilyspoise wasn't even sure if she would recognize the sound of her own voice. Initially she had been searching. Searching for her mothers-- faux-mothers. Were they even her mothers anymore? A bitter part of her wondered if the two had found each other and decided yeah, that's enough, we're good. Then again, that was likely born from the fact that she had never known a mother that loved her. Her birth mother only cried out for Lilyspoise's father, and only used her daughter as a pawn. So the idea that her mothers found each other and forgot about her was biased, yes, but it wasn't... completely out of the question. Then Lil's twin souls just... disappeared. She couldn't tell what happened, or why, but one day during her travels she woke up cold. Cold and empty and she hadn't heard the voices she'd grown to love in ages. She began to wonder if she had made it all up to cope-- she made up mothers that loved her, fabricated versions of herself to act as sisters that she never truly had. It could've all been just a ruse, after all, she had nothing to prove that it wasn't. Just her own word, and that was hardly something to hedge your bets on. So she threw herself into medicine. She'd always had an affinity for it but she'd been scrappy before. Knowing a couple basics and referencing her own notes. Now she was more well-versed, and in a weird way it gave her a sense of familiarity. A small connection to her past self, a healer then and a healer now. It was the only peace she'd found in weeks; she didn't bother to think about the branch of fate where she didn't. It likely was unsavory-- it likely involved her own death, seeing how many fights she'd endured on her travels. A long pathway was presented in front of her, water lightly coating the surface. There was a human made object stretching across it, but the smell of humans wasn't present, so this place was either abandoned or someone else's territory. Which meant that Margaery or Suiteheart could be here. The path was stupidly long, and only served to give Lilyspoise more time alone with her thoughts, which was the last thing she needed. Her mind flooded with hopes to see her mothers, only for these hopes to be subsequently snuffed out by her own anxieties. It was impossible to light a flame underwater, and her paws were already wet. Sniffing out what seemed to be a border, she stretched before sitting down, swishing her tail in the water lightly. Giving herself just a moment to observe, she spied what plants she could and began to identify them in her head. Her knowledge on medicine was her only tangible comfort, so it was what she found herself falling to time and time again. It was the only thing she had left, really. However, after a few moments, she cleared her throat and finally spoke. "If anyone is out there, I've come on peaceful terms. I'm look--" She paused. She wasn't looking for her mothers, not... not anymore. "I'm looking to stay here for a while. I have knowledge on medicine and can repay any debts through that, if needed. I won't simply take up resources and give nothing back, if that is a concern." Re: chosen for the damned ♕ open, joiner - ARGUS - 04-17-2018 YOU'LL KNOW I WASN'T JOKING WHEN YOU SEE THEM TOO Argus was a beast made of voices. Voices that tried to reason each other into science. That tried to reason her into doing something that had little to do with reason and everything to do with the savage joy in blood caking her fur. She was respectable, in all the years all the times she broke and fell into one voice altogether without reason, she always managed to bring herself back. Back into the reason that most animals lived by, that most animals didn't have to worry about. Because losing her mind was always a fear. Not going insane oh, it was a lost cause at that point. But to lose the reason. The logic that clung to even the smallest child. That aerated a sentient, animal to a wild beast only to be hunted. Argus did not usually keep to the tracks. But patrolling its length was a better alternative to the sands. It provided a much needed distraction that she needed at the moment. Even as the form of a joiner stumbling along it dark red eyes zeroed in. "what is your name, stranger?" *aaa mobile Re: chosen for the damned ♕ open, joiner - Luciferr - 04-17-2018 Hymn of Ruin LUCIFER GRIMM — MALE — TYPHOON — VERY DIFFICULT it was strange to live among others again after so long since leaving rivers, he had to sometimes remind himself he was part of a community again and to help provide for them but it was becoming second nature again - still his own paranoia nagged at him everytime he glanced in the reflection, the livid red of glowing scars along his face, neck and partially his chest was a reminder of just who he descended from. Just what kind of monster lurked underneath that kept at bay with his own force of will and decades of battling against those darker impulses even when he had indulged in the destruction of an enemy. The dragon heaved a tired sigh as he neared the two, the white fur of Argus his distant daughter in law a beacon in the catching light - and the same white fur of a smaller, Unknown individual - but he caught the tail end of her words, ah, someone searching for a home in the meantime - he could relate. Still the dark dragon merely dipped his head to the two and silently stood behind argus, she'd already asked what needed to be asked, he could introduce himself after their new fellow had said there name. Oh, good, there were people here. Bonus: they weren’t immediately at her throat. Still, she didn’t lower her guard completely. She wasn’t in a battle stance or anything of that sort, but she was still trying to listen out for any others who approached, lest this be ambush. Although, then again, there was an actual dragon here, so she supposed they wouldn’t need much beyond that. But they seemed friendly for now, so friendly she would be. ”Lilyspoise.” It was simple but efficient. The other had only asked for her name, so it was what she would give. Well, technically she never graduated from apprenticehood with a clan, but she’d been through enough to earn this title; her new name. Lilyspoise. A lily’s poise. To have the grace of a lily. Simple, but it had been a name she’d chosen ages ago. It was somewhat funny how after all this time, she was still okay with that name. (And if for a bitter moment she was to wonder if this separated her further from Suiteheart and Margaery, well, she’d be okay with that, too.) Lil wasn’t much of a talker nowadays, but if these were to be her new clanmates — potentially even her new friends — then she knew it was only right to ask their names too. She was quiet and reserved, not a bitch. ”May I too ask for your names, strangers?” She asked, mimicking the other’s prior nickname in an attempts towards forming a friendship. ”Call me naive for seeking residence in a place that I don’t even know the name of, but where exactly are we?” Did that come off as suspicious? Lil wasn’t sure— but also didn’t exactly want to spill her life story to complete and utter strangers, so she remained silent for the time being. Re: chosen for the damned ♕ open, joiner - Luciferr - 04-17-2018 Hymn of Ruin LUCIFER GRIMM — MALE — TYPHOON — VERY DIFFICULT just realised its fire emblem lmao Lucifer inclined his head, wings like cut pieces of the night sky shifting and resettling against his back as he spoke up "Lucifer Grimm - as for where you find yourself, you are currently in the territory of the Typhoon" he left argus to explain just what they were, he wasn't overly familiar with it all yet aside from there was a large pirate theme and that they took initiation quite seriously - his own had been an, experience. He was well aware his form dwarfed all who weren't also dragons, he usually made an effort therefor to appear simply neutral or as non threatening as his appearance allowed - livid red scarring notwithstanding - even if his form was obviously built to be intimidating. |
