VODKA ON ICE ;; joining/lost - ;;bryn harbringer - 10-30-2018 ♚ she was lost, clearly. lost. hungry. dehydrated. terrified. she had plummeted herself into the unknown world too soon, yet out of all these she was still relieved to be out of there. she wouldn't hurt her family anymore. her father wouldn't have to worry about her, at least if it concerned his own position. her sister could do without her. the others... bryn wasn't sure how anyone felt about her now. she remembered, vaguely hearing stryker's voice in her head. she couldn't recall anything he had said, but it was clear he had managed to speak to her while she was in such a state.
something about the lion's contact worried her. prior to that her father had been the only one capable of breaking thrugh her barriers. the mental blocks her powers protected her with so not to make herself vulnerable. bryn had to force herself to take a deep breath, noticing she had been leaving twisting vines in her wake from the anxiety. she noticed the sky suddenly becoming clouded- no. not clouded, simply covered by the overhanging canopy above her. the tree's went up for miles it seemed, having to tilt her head to her back just to see the top. growing uneasy in the change of grassland plains to some sort of dense forest, bryn tried to remain calm. it was failing. she was making the attempt though, at least. ▹▹▹▹ In his days since joining the Ascendants, he had really put in an effort to try and be involved in what ways he could. After all, these people had been kindly enough to offer their home to him, and he found it somewhat easy to assimilate with them. For that, he was both grateful and lucky. These people ended up not being cannibalistic murderers and instead were some genuinely good people- aside from a few jokes that had already been thrown his way. It was cozy, though he would never bring himself to admit that he had used that word to describe them. But at the end of the day, it was true. They were good people, people that Atticus would, for now, be loyal to. Quietly making his way through the territory, the large melanistic jaguar kept his gaze moving idly, a force of habit that kept him aware of his surroundings at all times, even if his steps were somewhat languid and long, with no real present purpose. He had half a mind to go hunting, to see what he could bring back to share; another part of him was curious to explore the further reaches of the territory that he had not quite been able to yet. And yet another part of him was quite seriously considering the prospect of an afternoon doze in the sunlight; but there was no reason to decide now, there wasn't even a rush at all. It was only when he stepped forward into the edges of a clearing of trees that he paused, his ears flickering at a nearby noise. A deep, shaky breath like someone had been holding the air back from entering their lungs, tense. His gaze turned slowly, surveying through the underbrush of the trees and the area around him he slowly began to move forward, crouching himself lower to hide within the greenery in front of him in case this was more than he initially bargained for. Of course, he thought it highly unlikely, but he had learned quickly enough that dealing with frightened creatures could wind you up with some injuries; they were more inclined to lash out in fear rather than consider the situation logically. It didn't take him much longer to spot the form within the clearing, their head tilted high to see the height of the trees itself. They looked thin and shaky, and it frankly didn't take much more to realize this person had gone through more than her fair share of long nights. "Do you need help?" his deep voice rumbled lowly in his throat for a moment, letting her process that question for a few seconds before he stood and slowly stepped forward, his sharp gaze stuck on the girl. It was only the logical understanding of the possibility of his demeanor scaring her that he lowered himself again slightly and put a tiny smile on his maw, enough to soften the edges of his harsh golden eyes. "You're in the Ascendants. We have food and water, and a place to stay if you promise your pacifism." Re: VODKA ON ICE ;; joining/lost - agathe. - 11-01-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 12px; color;"]"Pacifism is a strong word to use. You wouldn't want to give her the wrong idea, would you?" Agathe inquired quietly, joining the pair on near silent paws. The snow leopard practically lived at the border these days, trying her best to tend to newcomers as quickly as possible. She was drained though, especially with the new responsibilities that had been stacked upon her scarred shoulders only hours after she had been promoted to Cosmic General. Moon's death had been as untimely as it had been unexpected and admittedly, she was still reeling. But that didn't matter she supposed, not when she was curiously observing Bryn through a golden gaze. "You're free to act as you wish," The Seraph would continue easily, remembering that she was required to at least explain what she meant, "So long as you don't hurt one of your own or one of our allies. That is, if you even wish to join." This creature smelt faintly of the Pitt but Agathe, for once, assumed nothing but good intentions. She looked lost and confused anyways, perhaps even physically drained. As much as Agathe refused to deal with children of any capacity, she couldn't help but feel the slightest inklings of pity towards this one. "I'm Agathe Ashyver. What's your name?" Re: VODKA ON ICE ;; joining/lost - ;;bryn harbringer - 11-02-2018 ♚ her weary observances had cost her to be spotted. not that she was looking to truly hide herself in the long run of things. bryn had yet to realize she had crossed a boundary quite yet, not realizing that had been the explanation for the rather strong scent that covered the expansive land she had begun to cross. it would have made sense, had she known it was a normal occurrence to scent-mark territory. the pitt used its desert borders to weed out those unfit for their ranks as far as she was informed.
her focus snapped back in front of her, her limbs tensed and her ears pinned back. several vines slowly began to wrap themselves around her ankles and lashed outward from her body, coiling back to her. she was ready to face on any threat as exhausted as she was. she may not even be able to throw the first punch without collapsing, but she would be damned if she let herself go down without a fight. she wanted to survive. electric blue were met with a honey gold, and she felt her heart skip a few beats. the jaguar was... quite intimidating; she almost mistook his slow approach for stalking. holding her breath to try and ready herself for one last fight for her life, she let out a soft sigh of relief at his words. pacifism. she knew what it meant, but by the gods had she never experienced it firsthand. still, bryn was cautious in the wake of a larger creature who she had no knowledge of. at least he had given her a name to put the land to but she was still hesitant on his offer to help her. the last thing she wanted was to be a damsel in distress. or even worse: held as if she owed them something for their help. would she have to pledge an allegiance to them in return? or would they take advantage of her guard down and kill her on the spot? no one was worthy of her trust quite yet. "you are...kind." she began slowly, glancing warily at agathe as she was next to appear. "i am not sure what your intentions hold, though." it was not a yes or no, but bryn would first like to hear what this 'help' would entail. what the expected outcome would be, and how they would both benefit from this. they wouldn't willingly give help without a service in return; she knew that's not how this world worked. to answer agathe's question, the girl stood up straighter, raising her chin up with a sudden proudness as she spoke. "bryn harbringer. daughter of quill harbringer; marauder of the pitt. i have left for... safety. they don't require my presence there any longer." bryn was aware the pitt had enemies all over the world it seemed. she would not lie right to their face, though, they would have found out later if not now, and she would possibly be in more trouble then. she would rather be turned away at the door than evicted. YEAH, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T GO BACK, IT'S TOO LATE TO SAY IT'S TOO LATE. YOU CAN'T TAKE BACK THAT YOU SAID NOTHING. HOW COULD YOU DO NOTHING? The muscular male had arrived silently at first, his neutral gaze observing the kitten as she explained herself to the others. Had she just been lost and without a family, then Titan was certain that she would have been accepted into their ranks with no problem at all. However, what she had said caught his attention. "Safety?" The lion had repeated, his features falling solemn and his amber eyes fixing onto the kitten. She looked like a harmless little thing, but he could never be too sure. There were too many threats to their safety nowadays, especially with the whole Sunhaven fiasco. "Safety from what, exactly?" Questioned the Astral Seraph. They had the right to know, didn't they? What if a threat was posed just by this child being at their doorstep? |
