have you seen my son -- ghost - tori - 10-27-2018

Game over.

What a weak and simpering thing he was, a real piece of work for the Ascendants to deal with. Well, at one point anyway. He knew he hadn't been around much, he'd failed his one objective. It was pathetic really, how he couldn't even do that much in his life. He wished his mother had never created him, or at the very least let him perish after birth as was traditional for runts of the litter. But no, he'd made it this far now and regretted his decision to do so, however involuntary it was. But that was okay, it was all okay. He'd found ways to dismiss the bitterness for the time being, at least leading up to the period of nothingness and his presence being slim.

So if he was happy, where did he go?

Ah, that was a mystery, but it was a case of him isolating and wandering about, sometimes bringing food back, sometimes bringing nothing back. Depended on what he'd found. But sometimes thing went awry, and such a time had fallen on him rather quickly, and he was not in the least bit prepared. You could say he had a run in with a wandering rogue, things went sour, and Alex soon found himself in some trouble.

A wandering dog, that's what they were, rippling muscles and evidence of torn flesh, much too feral looking to be friendly, old blood had stained it's strong legs, they were cut up and looked chewed on. A flash of silver around their neck caught his eyes, however Alex couldn't make much sense of what it was.

A stick snapping in the distance among the wood is what got this creature's attention, whipping their head around and catching Alex in their sight, the only living creature in the current vicinity. His blood ran cold when his brown eyes met blue, but they were not pretty as much as they were intimidating to him.

They were cloudy, they were full of fear, they were full of desperation. There was so much he couldn't decipher behind those eyes.

Alex was not a fighter, he was nothing. He had lost the altercation before it had even started, and there was no chance to get away now. They were stronger than he was, a beast fueled by pure impulse and...emotion? The only saving grace Alexander had was a sense of stability, but there was only so much he could do.

They were scared. They were scared of him and yet, as this creature stared him down, Alex saw their eyes again. They weren't looking at him. They were looking through him.

He saw a switch flick at some point. A return to reality. It must've been the taste of blood, maybe. But it was a little too late, and he paid for his loss in blood.

He could've sworn he saw them cry.

He had died, alone and cold and with the company of only a stranger who he both didn't know and who had been his murderer. But if that was the case, why did he still feel? Something was wrong. What was wrong was Alexander was not entirely gone. No, no, Alex's soul refused to go.

And so he was here. Returned to the Observatory, slinking through walls, a soft translucent form taking the place of his body, trailed by a dark mist and brown eyes emitting a bright glow.

Where was Harland? Where was Moon? Where was Oni?

// tl;dr: alex died and is now a ghost haunting the observatory

Maria really didn’t care for ghosts; corporeal or not. Ghosts represented something that walked the line of death and life - something that couldn’t quite pick one or the other, couldn’t quite stay one way or another. She was all for breaking the rules, was all for pushing things that deserved it (and god, what had been pushed more than the line between life and death?), and even agreed to the concept of walking said line, but... there was something about it that had goosebumps rippling under her fur. Maybe it was the reputation of ghosts and undead things that preceded them, or maybe it was just her horrible judge of character, but they were still unsettling.

She’d already run into one the other day: another lion, pelt and mane wisps of fog with eyes like the pitch of night. There was a beauty to them, Maria would admit; like stars pulled from the sky and mist plucked from the horizon of dawn, they were just spirits. And if she could concentrate on that, then ghosts were alright.

The problem was, Maria couldn’t concentrate on anything for shit.

So when she nearly walked through a floating piece of vapor with bright eyes, the girl shrieked, bodily scrambling backwards as a shower of sparks erupted from her paws. “God, what the heck -” The Somali cried, heart slamming against her chest. “What, is this place haunted?” She whined. “Who are you?

Having Hanahaki disease was punishment enough for the vampire- while this disease could kill him, he didn't seem to show a single care in the world. He's just possess another body and live, because his damned soul could never die. He could never truly die, but he had to watch as others did.

Onision had always believed he'd be by Alexander's side when he died, holding his hand through any pain and whispering sweet nothings in his beloved's ears. He was cruel, for having feelings for two people, but he told himself from the start that Alexander was his true love. He wanted to marry the lupine, but someone like him didn't deserve such happiness. Love was something he worshipped, from the moment he opened his eyes and saw his mother's. It was like a connection to Oni.

He didn't expect for his lover to die this soon, this young.

Onision's ears twitched slightly as the sick felidae opened the door of his and Alex's room (really it was Alex's, but he didn't like to sleep alone) to see Marianna speaking to someone. A single blue eye narrowed a bit in annoyance, the feline walking over to see what the hell she was talking about. She mentioned a ghost, and Oni inwardly groaned. He's had enough of spirits.

Until he sees who it was.

Oni nearly collapsed onto the ground when he saw the form, the familiar brown eyes glowing it's beautiful chocolate and wood color- majestic, enraptured. Tears threatened to spill from blue eyes as Onision opened his blind, scarred eye for the first time, the iris a pale blue-silver. "Alex? What- WHO DID THIS TO YOU?!" Onision was quick to assume murder- he always was, and he found himself sobbing despite the fact that his lover was still here, just not alive. He was a ghost, haunting the halls of the observatory and possibly him. It was like everything zoned out in that one moment, the were-vampire desperate for an answer. "Why did you go outside? We aren't supposed to leave past curphews! I could have protected you!" He shrieked, paws shaking as he tried desperately to ask for an answer. Please, please.

It wasn't supposed to be this soon.

Re: have you seen my son -- ghost - guts - 10-27-2018

The only instances of ghosts she knew were ones from stories, scary ones that were told at night or on holidays such as the one right now. Her belief in them was questionable--though she tried to assure everyone she was brave and that she didn't believe in such things, she still got paranoid at night, having to check under her bed before turning off the lights. But that was more-so a general thing with monsters. If vampires like her and her family, what stopped other creatures from existing?

The first thing she heard was the voices, one of them being particularly loud and familiar. It sounded like he was angry, and yet, there was another emotion to it: sadness. Her heart wrenched at the thought, quickly following the sounds to find him and try to comfort him. The last thing she expected to see was the transparent spirit.

A spike of fear runs through her, the urge to run nearly overpowering. But the way her brother is speaking to it holds her there, her head tilting. Alex? So this was his boyfriend? She slowly connected the dots, and a frown developed on her face, sorrowful for her older sibling. His boyfriend had died. That was how ghosts worked, right?

"Oni.." she starts, then trails off, unable to find anything to say. She wasn't sure how she could try and comfort him in such a situation.

"speech"

Being dead was confusing. Well, at least being a ghost was confusing. He felt too light, he felt cold too. And it was to be expected the residents would be a little wary around his presence, considering his current state. That would be a problem.

He hadn't really noticed Marianna until she came close to stumbling through him, another weird aspect of being dead he figured, and sent a few sparks flying. Alex frowned, there would be many more ghosts if she set the place ablaze. One fire was enough for his lifetime. His head tilted when he realized he didn't know this girl, she was absolutely unfamiliar to him.[i]"Who are you?" He echoed her question, finding his voice was strange, much too wispy.

Two more voices caught the ghost's attention, one which was all too familiar and one that was not. Oh, he hadn't thought of Oni's potential reaction to the news of his fate. [i]"Ran into trouble before curfew." Alexander responded with a shake of his head, the darkened mist shifting around his shoulders. Onision clearly figured out the end result without needing to hear the story, not that it was hard to figure that out. For a split second, he was grateful to be a ghost wandering the halls rather than having no contact with the other at all. Surely he could find a way to fix this, the abilities of his clan mates gave him enough hope that he could possibly escape death. [i]"Met a young loner among the trees. He was very sick, and very scared of me." The wolf replayed his memories on the subject, seemingly more relaxed about his death than he should have been, quiet for a moment. [i]"I am not a good fighter."

A ghostly tail gently moved through the air, dispersing mist in it's path. He was thinking. [i]"Please do not cry, Little Icarus. This is a consequence of my own actions. I am...sorry." Ah, he felt terrible for this. He was causing Oni some intense distress, and it was horrendous of him. He hung his head, closing brilliant glowing eyes. [i]"I may be dead, but I am not gone. There must be a way to fix this, some way."

Little Icarus.

The nickname that Alexander had bestowed upon him when he had tried to fight the sun when they were younger. A beautiful moment, marking a start of the feelings that Oni had grown to have for the lupine. He didn't know it would hurt so much to hear that nickname spill from his lover's lips. Not now. He had so many moons to spend with him, he had to figure something out. Anything.

"Possession. Find.. Find a body, Alex.. I'll-I'll help, okay? I'll.. I'll.. We can find a body for you to stay in- uhm.." Onision trailed off desperately, paws trembling as he glanced over at his sister, his tail brushing against her side. Despite how he seemed like a wreck on the outside, Aloysius was screaming at him internally, warning him.

"Calm down, host."
If I was there to protect him. I should have stayed close.
"It wasn't your fault."
LIKE HELL IT WASN'T!

Onision shook his head, wincing at Aloy's attempts to calm him. He knew what happened when his emotions went out of control.

Then, an idea floated into his head. Call him crazy, but Oni would do anything to have his boyfriend back in a physical form instead of a spiritual one. "..I'll turn you. So-so you won't have to suffer.. Dying like this again.. You.. You can stay with me, y'know?" He meowed, his voice cracking as he watched those beautiful eyes glance downwards. He knew Alex wasn't good at fighting. If it were to have come to a fight, Alex would've stood no chance from the beginning, but Oni could have been there. "I-I could turn your body into one of us, you can be a Mikaelson. A vampire." He rambled off, knowing damn well that wasn't his choice, but he needed Alexander. He wasn't gone, but he could disappear any moment.

It was moments like this that Onision wanted to let his Hanahaki disease just up and kill this body for all he cared. Screw Victor, he would be a roaming soul with Alex until they found bodies to possess. Aloysius could take over the physical body for all he cared. Anything for Alex.

Onision found himself pondering if he was going crazy, but the toxic way of keeping his lover here seemed so obsessive, so unhealthy, but he didn't see that. Anything.
